Hi. Just came from there renting an ABB for a few days with the locals. Very smoggy mixed in with fog. Sewer smell pretty much everywhere you go in the city. Not a lot of parks to walk or rest unless your running along the beach properties. Roads are terrible, so you won’t see too much street biking, you need a mountain bike to absorb the roads. You won’t see to much homeless as everyone is relatively poor and hard working, so locals won’t hand out to anyone that’s lazy, unless your crippled to some extent. Local water was a little salty tasting, but clean enough for showers and brushing teeth. I think every property comes with some filtering system. It’s just me but the food seemed to be really repetitive. In other words get used to a diet of tacos... The positive, is there is a Walmart, Costco and Home Depot. McDonald’s and other major fast food restaurants, but I wouldn’t eat there only drive thru. Yes it’s cheap living but as a Southern Californian, you’ll miss all the beaches, camping, skiing, out door activity and feel safe. On a positive, and probably the only place I would consider living is the valley of Guadalupe wineries. 30-40 minute drive inland but less road trash and dilapidated houses. The whole Baja coast is basically a gold mine of multi million dollar housing, fishing and wine and spirits. They would basically have to redo everything starting with fresh water, sewer, and roads. Once the foundation is in place, you can build a new city with local tourism, housing etc., and then that place would be heaven. The beaches would need to be redone, as most of the beaches are pebbles not soft sand.
I'm looking for some kind of chat room so I can dialogue about the in's and out's of getting to Ensanada and finding my way to live there. I know a youtube post is probably not the best way, but I have googled expat forums and I can't find anyone to talk to.

I'm an architect from Ensenada, with a contact over here you shouldn't be paying those prices, people is so abusive sometimes with that
