When I was younger I would tell my freinds that Goldeen would summon a huge wave but only if you threw it in water. The sea claimed many mons back then

Some fun facts:
The use of Goldeen instead of Magikarp in Smash was a reference to the second (maybe third, I don't remember) episode of the anime where Misty picks up a random Pokeball in the Center to fight Team Rocket and it happened to have a Goldeen inside it.
Also, in the case of Electrode, there's a small chance of pulling out a "dud", meaning Electrode won't immediately explode and kind of dud out for a few seconds before turning red again and finally exploding.
Not sure if people knew this, but I still wanted to share just in case.
Also apparently, as I'm looking at it, Melee used Stadium models for their Pokemon it looks like. I never played Melee, so I really didn't know this.

Heart Swap temporarily switching control of 2 chars was the most unique gimmick of them all-
It's a shame that Manaphy is so rare in Brawl that, to be honest, removing him didn't make a big difference.
I remember having Manaphy appearing when I was doing single player in Brawl, and my first thought was “No one’s gonna believe me that this happens.”

You never knew true terror in a video game until Fletchling came out of your opponent’s pokeball in Smash 4.
Anybody feel like the Master Ball’s inclusion in Smash 4 kinda ruin the hype and excitement of unleashing a Legendary? Sure you’ll know for sure it’s a legendary but I gotta admit discovering them in regular Pokéballs was more hype since you would never see it coming. Also my favorite has got to be Manaphy and it’s Heart Swap move, it’s a shame they cut it after Brawl.
I mean with both of them turned on, it’s still rare to get masterballs. Also you can still pull a goldeen from one so I guess that’s the balance 😭
Not all Master Ball mons are legendaries or mythicals, it also includes Zoroark &... Goldeen

I do NOT remember Melee having Ditto
It was cut but was supposed to be in Melee, doing the same it does in Ultimate, but they never finished it
If anyone says lugia is not good in ultimate look at him back in melee he really did not hold back his power in his attack almost instant 300% damage damn 6:20 in ultimate he held his attack back 25:50

When Smash Ultimate said "Everyone is here!" I wish they brought back some of the Pokemon from previous game's as well🍻🍺

Ditto was originally going to appear in melee, but was scrapped, and when you reactivate it with cheats it will not do anything, it will only appear and will not transform into the fighter you are using.

Something interesting I realized by watching this video is the way the Smash devs are able to implement so many Pokemon for each game.
To put it simply, they simply reuse models from the latest console/3D Pokemon game at the time.
Melee Pokemon reuse models from Stadium 2 and Snap (the unused Ditto model is a dead giveaway).
Brawl Pokemon reuse models from Battle Revolution.
SSB4 and Ultimate reuse models from 3D Pro and the mainline 3DS games (you can tell easily from Gardevoir's walking animation).
Pretty sure Jigglypuffs model in Smash 4 was the same one from XY I remember reading that somewhere
Wdym, Gamefreak has to hand draw them pixel by pixel, that’s why not all models were available for Sword and Shield, they aren’t from the 3DS /s

Honestly it would be cool if the Paldean Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet made it to Smash Ultimate.

I always wanted them to add Shedinja in the later games and have its gimmick be it just acts as a small, avoidable, floating obstacle but touching it will insta-kill you.
I think Goldeen's overall behavior is meant to be a reference to her introduction to the Pokémon anime, but I collectively agree with many others that the completely useless spot should go to Magikarp

5 man Squad Strike with high pokeballs/masterballs only on Hyrule Temple is my favorite way to play Ultimate!

(Idk if I’m spellin’ it right) but weavle was so annoying in brawl when summoned. And it was super common to get, so you’d just hear about 2-3 “weav-, weav- weav-“ while bein’ stun locked in the middle of them.
We played with poke balls all the time though, so I had it comin’ ig lol
I also really miss when the audience would gasp at a legendary Pokémon coming out, but I get why it’s not used today because of master balls.

I could've sworn I heard Hitmonlee say Psyduck, and Clefairy say good news. Plus I didn't know you could hold Electrode. Or that Ditto was there.
I wished that gen 3, gen 5, and gen 8 get fighter reps along with possibly gen 9 and gen 10 for next smash game/ possibly smash ultimate. For each of those missing gen such as gen 3 rep with Gardevoir, gen 5 rep with Krookodile, gen 8 rep with either Rillaboom for fully evolved grass starter or possibly Meowscarada/fully evolved grass starter of gen 10.
Honestly I always wanted Sceptile to be a playable Pokemon. Hoenn needed a playable Pokemon, and they could’ve chosen him 😭

The only wish I wish they’d bring back were definitely Porygon2 and Unown. Yeah Unown is the annoying swarmer, but no other Pokemon I felt played that role better.
Also, hopefully the next Smash game has some Paldea Pokemon, because I’d LOVE me an Espathra or Maushold in the Pokeballs.

I definitely think that in Ultimate they should have replaced Fletchling with Toucannon and let you pick it up and use it as a gun for a few high powered shots with some fire damage if the opponent got to close to you.

I have played melee for countless hours. Gotten mew and celeby multiple times and I have never once gotten a ditto. I had no idea it was in the game.
