Friday was probably one of my favorite hood movies. Boyz N the Hood was a sad morality tale. Menace was brutal look at life in the ghetto. Friday took a humorous look at life in the ghetto. Great film.

I can understand why, a lot of actors that just play the same character kind of get stuck with it and struggle to find anything out of that role; I think he made a smart move for his career but he was honestly one of my favorite parts of the movie.
He finally gave in and said he’ll be doing the next Friday project. But with the death with majority of the leading stars, I don’t know if it’s still going to film. The script was finished and everything. Cube was shopping it around to different studios like three years ago

Ice cream trucks will often times sell drinks and snacks like peanuts, sunflower seeds and chips, the kid wanted Chili Cheese Fritos. What Curtis is describing is a Frito pie, which does have actual chili on top of Fritos, however those are usually sold in stationery locations
Actually, in my neighborhood, we had an ice cream truck that served hot food (popcorn, hot dogs, chili-covered Fritos) as well as cold items (ice cream - soft serve and hard scooped, sno-cones, soda, floats, banana splits, sundaes, etc.) and candy. It's usually a small to medium RV-sized type truck instead of the usual small square truck, which is much more limited in what they can offer. It depends on the neighborhood, I guess

This is honestly the best Hood movie to grow up watching because compared to the other films in its genre,it doesnt paint living in the Hood as a tragedy.
It has heart,Humor,Lessons like keeping your word what really makes a man, a MAN.
and NO ONE DIES in the story.
For 20 years, I've been asking my friends, every time I see an empty cardboard box in their home or workspace, if they're trying to build a clubhouse. Notice that Craig never said that he didn't steal the boxes. I would have thought this would have been the one movie you both had seen. I'm glad you enjoyed it. So many quotable lines.

I was good friends with Chris Tucker for a couple years before this came out, and he had NO IDEA that it would be what it became. He'd already shot "Dead Presidents," and he was SO excited to have done a movie with the guys who did "Menace II Society," (which was coming out in October and all of his career thoughts were about that), so when we went to the premiere for "Friday" in April, there weren't a whole lot of expectations. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It's awfully cute to think about it now, but the next day, (the day "Friday" came out), Chris and I went to the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood (where the premiere had been the night before.) It was the middle of the day, but he still made me jump out of his Land Cruiser (what he was driving at the time) and ask the box office person how the sales were going. A pair of young people happened to be buying tickets for "Friday" - and I directed them to Chris - who was illegally parked while waiting for me. They were overjoyed to meet him, and he was beyond happy that they were buying tickets. His life completely changed after that movie came out (no argument about that), but nobody who was around at the time could have predicted it 🙂.

This movie is from back in my day, but I had never watched it before this. It was good, but the chilli frito debate was even more entertaining. Quest for Fire is my favorite comedy of all time, but this one was very funny too.
