I’m 71, lived on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan all my life, and couldn’t help notice this VERY strange radar return from the lake effect snow band. I’m an avid weather fan for our unique Lake Michigan weather and have never seen anything remotely like this! It lasted all day, remaining at the center of the Lake, and was the oddest thing I’ve ever seen! It acted like a “snow funnel” depositing over thirty inches of snow at the southern end of Lake Michigan! When it finally began to subside and change its orientation and moved onshore, we received the expected foot of snow in a narrow band. It was truly one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen over the Lake!
im on the lakeshore for 30 years have never seen or heard of this either. I was hoping it would swing east and give me another 20 inches to play in.

Yuppers, I've been monitoring it from
N/E Ohio and I can absolutely identify, it's called weather minipulation. These storms and temperature fluxes are created and minipulated to cause fronts to pause while feeding them to create massive biblical storms or droughts. This my friend is one of many they have created. Look up operation poppey, it's Technically advanced since then.
Yeah I live in southwest Michigan and over the past week weve gotten a bunch of snow.
Funny, I actually caught that radar over Lake Michigan on Windy and immediately thought of an atmospheric electrical phenomenon causing it. Rare for me to be looking 'over there' since I live in Maine. Good job with Tim Poole, your silence at times can speak volumes also.

More and more often, "curious" (unusual) cloud formations can be seen. Ripple-like effects, flowing forms as well as "mixes" of cloud types in the same sky.
Also some clouds can be seen hanging like ribbons vertically in the sky about 45 degrees above the ground.

Currently -9F in rural Indiana south of Lafayette. At least the wind isn't blowing, and temps are expected to rise next week to possibly (please, please, please!) 40 degrees. And miracle of miracles, there was bright sunshine today so we pulled back the insulated drapes from southern windows. It had been 20 days of unending gray gloomy days. Cats were vying for the best sunbathing spots 🌞 That weird radar return reminded me of a horizontal funnel cloud which passed over my previous home some 18 years ago! Thank you Ben and Kat for all you do.

Last Thursday around 3-4pm I noticed some crazy-looking clouds that I call 'gravity waves', I told a few workers to come and look but most didn't care. This was 4hrs before we got our biggest snow in 2+ years. (4" and, more bitter cold.) Was this radar screenshot taken on the same day? 1/18/24? )

My furnace and I are looking forward to the warm-up in 3 days, but we could see some freezing rain and major fog this week.

@@SSArt98 Link says last Friday over Lake Michigan. Maybe the same storm system/atmospheric conditions? A cold front was pushing out of Canada, diving from Michigan through your part of Indiana. Friday/Saturday. It used to be that whatever weather conditions were passing through St. Louis would arrive in our area 4-6 hours later. Now those conditions most commonly pass south of us. Yes, just saw the ice storm advisory Monday afternoon through Tuesday noon-ish. Ugh! My 18-year old Jeep Rubicon can push through waist-high snow no problem but she's prone to pirouettes on ice. Fog is my nemesis; used to have to cross a busy road for work. Fog so heavy you couldn't see 50 feet. I'd stop, roll down window and listen (hoping to hear on-coming traffic) before getting across as fast as possible. We'll just stay home the next few days! If you have to get out, be careful!

I have seen those spirals. I have seen them for the past 8 to 10 months here in Maine. I have taken many pictures with my cellphone. I have played doubting Tomas with myself with them, as to what I was seeing. To me it is the spacing being so even and the little ticks/hooks at the end. I don't know if this helps anyone in anyway but there it is.

@@lizsteilkie The ancient or old descriptions of dragons... Even snakes in the skies or on the lands, limit your language and current knowledge and then attempt to describe what is seen with weather effects... How do you relate what you see to other people who didn't see it?
How would you describe the visible effects seen in that radar image were it visible to the human eye?
Like a snake or lizard (dragon) moving through the air or across the lands...
How much energy is in those things?
Enough to change the weather and landscape... That would put it on a scale of a Deity or God like power...
And all you actually saw was the effects of a reducing geomagnetic pole shift...
Electrical phenomenon always seem to come done to the same thing as Law or Quark formation...
Where's it come from, Why does it happen THAT Way instead of some otherway... and Who set it up.
The more of the How we learn...makes the other questions more visible when your mind seeks the end part of logical conclusions.
Occams Razor is hard for some to maintain an edge on the further out the logic thread you travel.

I live in Northwestern Montana not far from the Canadian border. I look forward to this stuff every year.
Going into winter and hearing the "transplants" telling locals all about how the weather doesn't get bad here and how they have experienced snow before only to now hear them talking about selling their new homes and moving only weeks into the serious part of winter is always great.

I've lived here in LaPorte Co, IN my whole life. We were the dumping ground for that helix weather pattern and I was watching it all day on my weather app between bursts of snow shoveling activity. Never seen anything like that radar image before but I have seen this weather pattern since I was a little kid, snow squalls coming in off the lake wave after wave after wave for hrs. I think we've always had it,......but now we have radar advanced enough to show it.

Ben - It’s also a known fact that the military regularly conducts exercises out in the middle of Lake Michigan and because of that I have to suspect them whenever there’s any kind of anomaly.
The cork screw rain is interesting. Should have been seen in other places around the world. Might be something new. Might indicate geomagnetic changes are upon us.
Waiting to see a second cork screw and "millipede" cloud formation are caught again.

Kinda figured Ben you might say something about the DNA Helix spiral storm on the news, I feel the same there will be more strange anomalous happening in the coming months or years, @suspicious Observers
I have felt for a while the Lighting storm in the Yucatan peninsula region they say occurs over 300 days a year is related to the polar shifting and kind of a indicator of the new placement where the pole would be near that region and because the magnetic field is weakening and poles are moving I can help but wonder if where the other pole will be what anomalous activity if anything is in that region as well, after all we live in electromagnetic universe and even our bodies are held together by the same effect and our movements thoughts all use a current of electric in a biological form as with all life and matter... yes I believe in our FATHER God and Jesus Yasuha the Christ and even more proof of the infinite wonders of intelligent design of the creators creations in everything thing in this world and the universe... and your correct there is no such thing as nothing not even in space they say is a vacuum the fact is the only vacuum that exists is in the void of absent knowledge in their own minds... to create power energy is easy... but sadly this world age of sick greedy and they literalist kill those who develop such devices calling it disruptive tech... but these things systems exist and they suppress the knowledge and technology look at Nicola Tesla and there are others who have since in recent years but most are gone or dead... its interesting how they shut down those persons but not surprising. Located on what some call lay lines... but actually its just tapping into the flow of nature's energy current and using that energy, in the form of electricity, if you look at the Hieroglyphs you can see things they used lights and other devices... like the man in Florida used to build the Coral Castle that Ben Talked about on the show the other day... the box he had no one ever knew what was inside... but really its not hard to figure out if one understands the properties and way the universe works when it comes to the Electric side of it ions protons at the molecule level everything has a positive or negative charge, and if tapped into the right way.. the mass of an object doesn't matter because the matter is what is being manipulated at the atomic level in a way most dont consider or think about...
But looking at the earth and the way the one place is getting charged with so much energy Brazil seems like the target for a new pole... just surprised I haven't heard Ben talk about that area...

that "lake effect" storm just missed me in Grand Haven it dumped 35 inches of snow in northern Indiana in about 6 hours. The local meteorologist called it fluid dynamics flow of artic air blowing straight north to south sucking up moisture off of lake Michigan because it has no ice on 90% of the surface. Then just smashing everything with loads of snow. I have never seen this happen either living on the lake for half my life, the winds are always west to east.

Good morning Observers, low last night of 32.2°F going for a high today of 36°F under cloudy skies here at 6600 ft on the mountain in NE NV. Yesterday’s high of 44.2°F was +9.2°F higher than forecast. Forecast = 11% chance snow today, snow Mon thru Fri, partly cloudy next Sat/Sun and sunny Mon with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s/30s.

Similar winds here in florida today (no snow) I stopped to take pics of the clouds.
Weird spiral radar image. I've seen films of sound waves doing that to streams of water so some kind of resonant vibration energy could have created that.
