Fun fact: Astronaut icecream isn't a real thing,Astronauts never have eaten icecream in space and even some Astronaut's (crew of apollo 7) that have supposedly eaten it said they never had it and also alot of Astronaut's dont like sweet things because when your in Zero-G,the sweet foods don't taste as good because your taste buds don't detect sweetness all that well (plus freezed dried food is terrible in the first place),so Astronaut's prefer sauces and spices in there food.
Edit.1: forgot to mention that yes,alot of Astronaut's dont like sweet foods but one of there favorites has to be honey since it doesn't has to be freeze dried [it can be] and can last for years. They like to put it on tortilla bread [since it cost less to ship tortilla to space and it doesn't make crumbs since you don't want crumbs floating around] and mix it with peanut butter to make a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Now the the reason why Most foods shipped to the I.S.S is freezed dried is because it not only makes more room to add more food and make it last longer,but to reduce the price of sending it to the I.S.S [for example] 3 apples is worth 3 pounds of gold to ship off (most fruits aren't freezed dried) but freeze drying reduces the weight therefore reducing the price.
