  • When comparing the total cost of ownership (TCO) between electric vehicles (EVs) and gas-powered cars, it's essential to consider various factors beyond the initial sticker price. While EVs typically have higher upfront costs due to battery and technology expenses, the significant savings over time in terms of fuel and maintenance expenses should be researched carefully. However, the City of Vancouver finds out the hard way how $1.8million was lost in less than a month.

If you want to save money in the short term, get a hybrid.
If you want to help ICE manufacturers stay afloat as they figure out how to sell EVs at a profit, and/or you don't have access to your own charging, get an ICE vehicle.
If you want the best out there when it comes to automotive technology, get an EV. The competition isn't even close, and it gets better every day.

I don't understand why anyone would buy a hybrid with an electric range of 20 to 30 miles for double the complication! Your not saving money at all! I'm fact most of the fires that occur are from hybrid cars not bevs. If you get a "self charging" hybrid they do about 12 miles on electric it then takes over 100 miles off driving to recharge the battery! So for 12 to 16 miles a drive to work it's completely useless!
People have to start talking ownership of causing exhaust and noise pollution.
In China they have changed entire cities over to electric buses within a month in talking 11000 vehicles!
All the communal large vehicles and road haulage trucks need to go Bev asap.

Hybrids were great training wheels while EV tech was still at its infancy. Now that that ship has sailed, they’re the worst of 2 worlds. More moving parts that break than both ICE or EVs only to underperform as either.

I don't think it's very logical to complain about a fire truck taken out of service for a water tank leak and somehow equating that with electric vehicles. Any newly designed fire truck (electric or diesel) would be expected to have some up front issues. This issue had nothing to do with it being electric, it was related to the water storage. That argument as presented in the video feels somehow dishonest to me.
