14 years sober thanks AA❤🎉🎉🎉
Scott, I grew up in an extreme alcoholic home.
Running away, few surgeries, and a non serene experience while sober.
Thank you for standing by the door.
I am happily standing by the door at alcoholics anonymous after making coffee or setting up.
I read my big book during the meeting or work on my 10th inventory or gratitude list.
I have re entered society as an employable member in good civic standing.
(holding doors, letting people over in traffic, food donations)
I'm in good standing in my biological family as someone who doesnt participate in the drama thanks to al anon practices.
Above all else, I've become totally restored in mind body and spirit from a broken man from alcoholism and outside issues that speakers like Scott led me to forgiveness that resolved said issues.
Thank you for your military service, thank you for your great heart for alcoholics anonymous and God, and thank you for standing by the door.
I too stand by the door with a big smile of broken teeth as my greatest asset where before I convulsed from panic while reading the preamble.
Thank you Scott.
Merry christmas my friends
Wow that's it just wow spoken like a child of God. Great meeting!!
thank you so much, jus comin into aa. these are a lifesaver
AA is a simple program for complicated people. The newcomer is the most important person at a meeting.
One of the Best talks
About to start step 4, definitely God's timing, that I found this teaching. Inspiring, thank you.
Just wow. Thank you. Thank God.
I don't know if I agree with the language, "I expect..." "need to scheduled..." and so on. I was thought to keep it simple and to get rid of my expectations and also that recovery is not one size fits all. Interesting take on recovery for sure!
I always try to invite The Holy Spirit to come and take over
Timeless Great Great speaker
You're so wonderful. I have a friend that truly needs a sponsor like you. I pray to God he finds one. Xoxo I wish you could sponsor him. God bless you
Thankyou!
If there was a love button I'd push that. Thank you! What edition should I get of the big book?
The latest edition is the 4th, but any edition is fine. If you go to a used book store there may be different editions available but the first 164 pages are the same in every one. Good luck!
There was 1 word changed from the 1st to the 2d edition. In the 12th Step 1st edition, it read: Having had a spiritual EXPERIENCE and it was changed in subsequent editions to read: Having had a spiritual AWAKENING. :)
I used an a large print, for the large pages and margins I have the other editions .
WOW!! Thank you for sharing this AA message me I truly needed this reminder God take it please let me know if you have any other ideas for you and me love you 4-10-84 The Bible My AA big book My Father in heaven and Jesus teach me they will over and over thank you for reminding I'll never be perfect but I know I can grow up when I give it all to you Amen!

You can search for AA meetings in your area, just type the name of your city and AA. When you go to the meeting, let them know you are looking for a sponsor. Blessings to you and yours!

@@Mandalas12 hi! Where you able to find his home group with the zoom info?
@@StudentnurseJess greetings. I haven’t, as each time he speaks, he’s moving around from venue to venue.
Try Facebook zoom meetings and similar groups. All the best
Would love to hear his wife! Is there a link to her? Thanks! 🙏🏻

We ARE Pretty funny
I like the talk but I have been confused about sponsorship relationship. I have been taught that sponsors are supposed to be there to share their experience, strength and hope. However, I seem to continuously see how people help other by walking them through the step four but it seems to me that they become like a parent telling them what to do, like a teacher, giving a student a homework. Don't get me wrong with the way how this share is given. it's hard for me to say it's helpful or isn't. It's more because I have been trying to do my step four and I get all messed up because I lose the instructions or the point what I should be getting at. I have been confused about how to handle this with a sponsor because I want to be careful not to make the relationship become a parent, financial advisor, therapist you name it. I know that s sponsor is not the their to give me advices, so if it is based on sharing the strength, experiences and hope, how would walking through the step four apply here if want to do it as best as I can? Any insights would be more than welcome. Thanks all and let's hanging in there.
Rather than a parent giving instructions, or a teacher giving homework, the fourth step with a sponsor is more like a "trail guide" or sherpa leading you up a mountain. Someone who has been there before, who has done the work, is there to guide you on your own journey. In the chapter "We Agnostics" the Big Book asks us to lay aside old thought patterns and keep an open mind. I think this is important to the process. Be careful with comparing sponsorship to parenting or other analogies that might have a negative connotation to you. The instructions to the fourth step are right out of the Big Book, I would suggest finding a sponsor who does it exactly that way. It wasn't until I did, that I was able to find the growth and serenity that comes from this vitally important step. You stated: "I want to be careful not to make the relationship become a parent, financial adviser, therapist you name it." Remember a sponsor is a guide, not any of these things, even if they give suggestions or advice, you don't have to take it. I would suggest the AA pamphlet "Questions and Answers on Sponsorship" it answers a lot of your questions. Blessings to you and yours!
I do not recommend the AA sponsorship pamphlet... lol... it talks about lots of things but NOT about taking another through the steps.... oy...and when I am taking a woman through the steps, we work straight out of the Big Book... and follow the clear cut, precise instructions laid out before us... there is no confusion that I am NOT your parent... I am NOT taking on women to "raise"... I am sponsoring women to get em' to God... and QUICK... But one of the BIG surrenders for me was to be sponsorable... to do what was asked of me whether I wanted to or not.... I cannot base my opinions on "how I feeeel" I need to do the work, as presented in the BB and take it to my sponsor to do my 5th step. The book tells me that I take the 3rd step prayer... and NEXT and Immediately followed by... those are my time lines to begin my writing.
Good points. Sponsor's are there to take people through the steps...simple.
But, we know a lot of addicts etc are control freaks and there in lies the problems.
Dude is too pro for me,
He shares working the 12 steps. There plenty of “ social groups “ type meetings, maybe your not ready to look at the steps. Bless you, keep coming back
His speaking needs to be shared at every room
