  • Hello everyone, I'm I.R.O.
    Today, I would like to demonstrate how to use Gundam Real Touch Markers to add shading and weathering. With a little practice, you can create an amazing weathered effect without relying on too many tools!
    The application is easy, and hopefully this would help many of you.

    • @i.r.o.4456
      @i.r.o.4456  Před rokem

      It’s a smear marker for weathering markers. As the name implies, it is used to smear the paint to create a soft transition or blend.

    would this work with standard gundam markers?

    • @i.r.o.4456
      @i.r.o.4456  Před 3 lety +2

      I will say it’s a little bit difficult, since Gundam markers are alcohol based so it dries faster and stays stronger on the surface

    someone knows if the real touch markers are water-based or not? Want to know if they are toxic or not due to having a toddler at home, dont want him to breath any toxic chemical

      @@i.r.o.4456 Oh, ok, thank you! Yes, indeed, I am extremely careful, my concern was more if for example just by opening the markers they would liberate some chemical odor that could fill a room, like a top coat can, for example. Glad to know that it seems safe to use from a distance, thanks!

    • @i.r.o.4456
      @i.r.o.4456  Před 3 lety +4

      In my experience, Gundam markers are permanent and rub proof, but they can be chipped if you use force, and rubbed off with chemical

      Sorry for the delayed response. The ones I have were discontinued brand, so I was trying to figure out what other brand to recommend. At this point visiting an art store and asking the clerk for opinion would be the best option.

      @crazymage5316 once the paint thoroughly dries it should be fine to work on bare plastic and fiddle around. Of course anything you do too much will certainly chip or rub off the paint.

      Both are amazing tools! I simply used this method since it was requested, and also because it was available in my area.
      If you have Tamiya weathering, then you can get a similar or even better result.

    are gundam markers durable?

    • @i.r.o.4456
      @i.r.o.4456  Před 2 lety

      I want to say yes, as in I try to strip the marker paint off and didn’t come off that easily. Yet when you scratch the surface, they do relatively easily.
      My experience is weird but see for yourself and let me know your experience!
