Your videos are NEVER boring. I’m a 73-year-old grandmother and I love the “dirty work,” the tedious behind-the-scenes stuff. Of course, I’m looking forward to the interior design, furniture coming in, etc but what you’re doing now is not only educational, it’s very satisfying.
I am 68 years old with a lot to do everyday but watching this channel is my moment of solitud.
I'm almost 75. They inspire me to do more. Of course I can no longer do what the young couple does, but more than I thought I could😁.

I don't get people sometimes. If you want to live outside the city be warned, the country comes with noises too. Dogs make noise, cows make noise, goats make noise and chickens make noise. I'd a whole lot rather listen to the pastoral sounds than sirens and souped up cars speeding down the streets. Good grief!
Yeah I would love to live more rurally than I do now. I used to live in a small, what you would call a town, village here in Britain and I miss the countryside and the open vistas. Although they aren't as big as yours I used to be able to see for over twenty miles from our front door.

I would take dogs barking over the constant sounds I have at the moment. Ambulance, helicopter firetrucks and cop cars and loud music all the time. The 4am jam sessions are super fun.

We live in a rural part of town, and yet, it's very noisy. We just recently found out that there are sisters who own a kennel for stray dogs. And early in the morning, when they let them out, they all bark, lol!! I think it's pretty neat. I remember when our dog walked off of our property - that's the first time she had ever done that, I prayed and asked God for her to come home or have someone bring her to us. This was on His Sabbath Day. I went into my prayer closet and started crying. Well, around 1:00pm the same day, this woman knocked on our door and she asked for me and if I owned a dog named Bailey. I was so excited!!! She was getting ready to call the dog pound because their kennels were full, but because I asked God that if she was still alive and someone had her, to compel them to bring her to us. She had a tag on her collar from when we lived in Katy, TX years ago. And right before she left, I was seriously thinking about removing it from her because it was a little snug. Well now I'm glad I didn't! The woman at the shelter felt compelled to find the owner and return her, so she called the veterinarian that we used to take her to, and they gave her my name. She then got on the phone and googled my name and that was how she found us!! Talk about a miracle!! I know that Jesus performed a lot of miracles on His Sabbath Day, and I reminded Him about that, snd asked Him specifically to perform a miracle for us that day and return Bailey to us...and He did just that!!! So all of the dog barking going on around here doesn't bother me at all, only the loud music that our neighbors play to the wee hours of the morning. God is Absolutely Good!!!

I have followed your family for years… in FL I’ve NEVER heard dogs barking or anything else, for that matter. I heard your neighbors near the rehab mobile home only one time and you brought it to my attn. Life happens! Dogs bark, ppl hammer or saw things. I don’t understand why ppl complain about that stuff. I don't mind dog barking. it tickles me when mine start barking like crazy. I also love love the "barking chain"...the night time far away talking of dogs. i don't like a hurt sounding dog, a lonely sounding dog that is chained up. ps i love your videos guys

Actually I'm glad you guys made these videos about the trailer. It's watching you fix it. how these trailers are built. There's not that much to them actually. Honestly it made me want to just go get a trailer that maybe someone tore down the mobile home and build my own on it. Look I don't need a super fancy giant house I just need something that looks good as functional and it's not going to cost me an arm and leg to heat it and cool it. I think people will get caught up I need a giant house so I can store all my junk but in the end we all die and then someone's junk becomes someone else's headache.

Dogs are doing their job when barking. And they sound better than traffic and sirens, etc, etc, etc…
More likely the dog is barking because the owner leaves it outside all day and ignores the dog. My neighbor leaves their dog outside all day while they are at work and the dog barks nonstop.
Barking dogs are obnoxious, ide rather live in the city than listen to a stupid dog bark all day
I'm glad I live way out in the country and my nearest neighbor live about a mile away. The only things we hear are Canadian geese and mallard ducks during the day and sometimes the bald eagles screetching. . And during the summer when they bring in cows for the summer, mooing. Then lots and lots of frogs now, and sometimes coyotes yipping. But thank goodness no dogs barking, like when we lived in town!
Traffic/Highway noise is the worst. It just drones on and never stops.

I never even noticed the background noise, well maybe once or twice with birds or the tree bugs but thats such s funny thing about Florida (and babies do it too) when they hear people in conversation, they haaaave to be in on it. It's seemingly universal with good energy🤣😂❤ we're all social beings.
For those who are complaining about the dogs (mind you in a neighborhood they don't live in). It would seem to me from all the videos that I have seen at the trailer that that neighborhood is a very quiet mature neighborhood (as in those buildings have been there for quite some time it's not new construction). With that being said the neighborhood dogs are used to certain noises at certain times (the mail comes at the same time multiple days a week kind of thing) and now there's construction and leaf blowers and other unusual noises for the neighborhood. Which anyone who's ever had a dog can tell you that unusual noises will immediately cause the dog to be on alert and more than likely bark.
Your children are always so well behaved and helpful. You should be so proud of them and how mature they seem.
To the people that said you should put vinyl siding, They ARE NOT COOL at all. Nothing is more boring than vinyl siding. I absolutely love that you're keeping it ORIGINAL. Good job today.

I’ll admit. I was skeptical in the beginning. I couldn’t imagine spending all the money and doing all the work to remodel that trailer; but, I’m a believer now! You changed my mind and inspired me. I want to do this to my rental property.

I have a friend that years ago, painted his Mom's trailer. He used automotive paint, he used multiple colors all mixed together, they were leftovers from a body shop. The body shop would just pour the leftovers from a project into a bucket, he would then just mix it all up and add some new to change the color closer to the desired color. It actually turned out much better than I thought it would. The finish was durable and fade resistant

@coffeecupcraftswithkelly2826 I don't know if body shops still do that but my friend got 4/5ths of a five gallon bucket. I guess the body shops rarely can't reuse any leftovers from spraying a car because the lot numbers would be different, most of the time they have to mix a quart just to get the correct ratio for the formula. Then they would only use a cup to paint for example a fender. Instead of pouring what was left down the drain they just saved it in a bucket. The color he got from the mixed paint was an earthy brown, and he did the trim in a crisp white. Like I said it actually turned out nice.

It’s so funny when Doug starts off enjoying the silence and then the end of the video the barking resumes 😂 Dogs are great. Alot of dogs don’t get the attention/ exercise that they need ( just like kids really) and they get bored and frustrated and bark. I used to have a neighbor that was always out on her porch yakking on her phone and smoking and her poor dog starts barking she yells “Shutup!!” 😒 Given the choice, I preferred the dog.
I think the house looks great! With the amount of work you've done, it'll last another 50 years.

That’s exactly what I was thinking… Dogs are the best thing to deter predators and just creepy people sneaking around your neighborhood. It’s hard to sneak around whenever you’re going to make a dog bark. Dogs are just doing their job.

This brings back memories. Back in the 1960s I worked with my father to build some house trailers from the frame up. He got the frames from who knows where. The original homes had burned down and only the frames were left. I have to admit that I hated every minute of the job since I was a teenager and we worked on these things at night and weekends. Now I wish I had paid more attention to what all was done and how we did it.

I never focus on exciting work - important work is more significant to me. Yes, painting the outside will make everything look grand. Unless proper prep work and repairs are completed first it's basically putting lipstick on a pig. And it creates more work. Attention to detail fascinates me. That's why this channel is my #1 favorite on CZcams in any genre. Plus it's 4 people living a good, respectful, family-focused life in a world of confusion and conflict - and they are happy. Finding contentment and peace is paramount. I haven't watched TV in years. For me this family and their channel are my type reality TV. Maverick's happiness when he discovered the Smokey the Bear pin triggered a huge smile and so many childhood memories. And when he says 'bye' it's so precious I feel an immediate emotional reaction. I enjoy the sounds of birds, doggs, cows, donkeys, horses, goats, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, cows, etc. I do not enjoy sounds from traffic, fussing/loud/obnoxious people, loud music, animals fighting, etc. I would enjoy having Ashley, Doug, Belle and Maverick as neighbors. Being respectful of one another's privacy and solitude yet friendly is my type neighbors.

The dogs will start barking when you start pounding. Dog barking is annoying but so is pounding. 😀😀😀❤❤ I have snowbird neighbors who start reconstructing everything as soon as they arrive and I listen to pounding almost every day all winter long.
I know how sensitive Ashley is to noise (I've watched y'all for years). If she isn't bothered, I'm positive it's not bad. 😊
The noises that bother me the most are loud tire noise and loud exhaust. Excessive dogs barking is annoying too though, but it's still better than loud constant vehicles!
Treated lumber maybe for exposed areas. The bugs and ants in Florida are monsters!

I grew up in a family of seven in a tiny cottage way out in the country. There was nothing more peaceful than thousands of crickets or frogs singing me to sleep. That house had an old tin roof and even when it was raining it was soothing. High winds were another story😮lol

Doug and Ashley I can say being a country girl I never even thought anything of the dogs barking I really didn't even notice because that's normal for me. I have heard all kinda animal sounds all my life. Some people have nothing better to do then complain. I would rather here animals then cars, ambulance, police all day long. Loved the birds flying bye. I could sit outside all day and feel such peace in nature. The mobile home is looking so good. I guess it's the way some people perceived living in a mobile home. To me it's a home. My son first home was a mobile home. He was a single father of two little girls 2 and 4 years old. We cleaned it and painted the outside. Did some work inside they lived there for five years. We found a house and he and his daughters moved there. He rents the mobile home out still. The girls say they still wish they lived in the trailer they loved it. They have so many good memories their. I guess it's how you see things. Love Maverick little pin he found. Like Maverick bye! I love your mobile home. I agree with Ashley your vacation home is going to be awesome. The paint job will be great and will help it bring out the vintage look. As far as the sounds of animals go, all the negative nellies need to live in the city and stay in their own little hole. Listening to dogs, the birds in the air and to children playing outside are the best noises anyone can hear. Love your videos and learning so much. Ty for sharing.

It always amazes me how petty people can be. To complain about noises at your house. You guys are doing a fantastic job. That house is going to be beautiful when it's finished. I love seeing the kiddo's around the site. And, speaking of noise; what about those noisy geese flying overhead! They are beautiful and I love to hear their honking.
Dogs barking have never bothered me. I’m more irritated by people who complain about everything on Gods green earth. I think you two do a great job and I know you love animals because of the stray cats you fed long ago. I think animals warn us from dangers and they need to talk too so I love them.

I had neighbors who let their dog out into fenced back yard then leave for hours. The dogs never stopped barking. Never. It was constant. Never so happy to see them move. I don’t mind noise. A neighbor has a rooster and chickens. Love that. Most peoples dogs in my neighborhood bark once in w while. Don’t mind that. I have 2 big dogs. They ll bark when someone on the property or even walking by. They stop after the fact. IF (and they have done this) they bark incessantly at another dog, a squirrel, a crow, at my neighbor mowing his lawn I will warn them once. Then it’s indoors if they don’t comply. I don’t feel as if my neighbors should be forced to have that annoyance. Some people are sick and trying to rest , have sleeping babies, sleep during day because they work evening/night shift. Yes animal noise happens but we all need to realize it’s not just our dogs and us that live in this world.
@@kathleenoverton3263 I guess i tune things out and even in the videos, I didn’t notice the dogs until it was mentioned. Dogs are being dogs and I feel sorry for your former neighbors pets because they are being neglected. You seem like a good neighbor that cares about others and especially the animals which is a great quality in my book. I hope the former neighbor is not abusing their animals.
I lived in a mobile home once, in Coarsegold, California. I have good memories of it. Im glad you are keeping it close to its original style. Its awesome. Its going to be better than when it was brand new. Fresh paint will be HUGE!
