  • In this sped-up tutorial video, I’ll guide you through the process of creating six abstract thumbnail painting sketches, showcasing how these exercises can enhance your art skills and practice for better art.
I start the simple art warm-up exercise with a Pointliner pen to make random marks on my sketchbook. This isn't about perfection-it's about loosening up and getting the creative juices flowing. With a limited palette of burnt umber, light olive green, permanent blue light, and titanium white, alongside a few posca paint markers, I demonstrate how less can indeed be more.
Thumbnail painting practice isn't just about painting; it's about exploration and innovation. Throughout this video, you'll see me use these 6 abstract painting thumbnail sketches as a tool for grid journaling, a method that helps organize thoughts and ideas visually. This exercise is an excellent way for artists to warm-up, practice for better art, reduce pressure, and experiment with color and composition without the commitment to a full-sized piece.

Great advice thanks. I would never have thought to intentionally pick colours that look like they wouldn't play well together, I love this idea! (I think it's actually my rebellious alter-ego that loves it most!) : )

I love these. Could you tell me what kind of paper you are using?

  • @cat-annechats5362

I love them! But how did the edges get so clean? I didn't see any tape.

  • @laurienix4121

This is a great exercise and I have also done this with collage. It's been awhile and I want to do it again. What are you using for a paint palette? It looks like a tile?

  • @Birgit587

Hi, wird jede Schicht getrocknet bevor man eine weitere aufträgt?
