Good job. Maybe get some orange oil furniture polish and give your cabinets a rub down. Will help refresh them and make them look less dried out and dull. Wouldn't take long to give them a wipe down.

Thankyou for your video Carla, the staying organized struggle is real! I too have an old kitchen with timber drawers that stick and jam and pull out oddly. I regularly rub candle wax on the top and bottom of the sides, they slide much better after that. Have a good day, it's mid morning here in New Zealand....after a coffee I am off to declutter something...in the mood now!

@@TheCarlaProject or you can use a little Wax Melt square with a nice smell. I have recently used a vanilla wax melt square, then just kept the little wax melt in the corner of the drawer, lovely smell in the drawer. And it's handy there for next time the drawer sticks.
You mentioned that you’re on your own for repairs. I hope the rent is worth it. Property owner should be investing in their building.

You have such a realistic home. 😊 I don't say it to be backhandedly rude. Rather I mean that cupboard bottoms *do* get sticky, and that drawer with sheets and bags *do* get a bit jumbled up in real life.
I really like to watch a home that looks like a real home to me, not a perfectly staged house in a reality show.

Are you allowed to paint your cabinet doors? If not, consider getting some Feed-n-wax wood conditioner for your cabinets. It will really add some new life(and moisturizer) to the doors.

You could put peel n stick wallpaper on the cabinets!
And on the shelves and in the back of the cabinets! There arent too many, and it will look much cleaner. Ifnyou have a dollar tree, they have it also walmart has peel n stick wallpaper so does amazon.
May work for this area if your landlord wont let you paint them white.

you could put your coffee basket by the espresso machine. there is little door and drawer a bit to the left of it, that could make you coffe making more streamlined
i don't know why but upper cabinets feel right for coffee stuff and lower cabinets feel right for cleaning supplies. i do think that drawer would be good though if it wasn't my junk.utility drawer 😂

I have 3 short lazy Susans in the cupboard... so I don't have to pull a basket out. The top shelf I do have a basket but it's mainly overflow type packets.

Yes! It’s the perfect little nook. I’m happy with having less to manage I just want the rest of my place to have the decor that I love because yes our homes should definitely make us happy and feel good!!

On a side note, the shorter cabinet is like that because a fridge was originally under it. It’s meant to store seasonal items not used so much.

I love how real u are. It's a real life mess and u will take care of it when I feel like it 🙌🏾. You could care less that ppl call you lazy or what other reason they say for the reason why it took u so long to take care of your home for the last 8 years. Most ppl have the same excuses. Laziness is not new.
Yes life can keep you busy. I’ve had a lot happen the last several years bts. All good and better now than never right 😎
Anchor hocking makes square stacking canisters. Bino lodge bins will fit into upper cabinets. Aldi once in awhile has sliding blind corner shelves for lowers. Clear squeeze bottles can hold vinegars etc. All are chalkboard label-able. Wayfair has bars with s hooks you can hang skillets on. A clear pocket organizer has hold kitchen stuff on a closet door. Knife strips and magnetic spice jars even on the fridge. Herb garden in window sill. It has taken me over 2 years, I still am not done. Btw, you have a great speaking voice!

Hi Carla! Just started diving into your stuff today. If you have never tried this tip before try storing pots, pans and food storage containers with LIDS ON. It does limit what you can keep, but makes life easier and more streamlined. Just try it for a week or two and see what you think.

I can relate.. I have a hard time parting with my glass jars. I usually cut up celery and carrots and put each vegetable in a jar with water in the fridge. It seems to extend their freshness. I have my vitamins on a lazy Susan in the cabinet but I have to reach up high for them. I think I’m gonna change it up and put them in a drawer. Thx for ur great ideas♥️ oh and Samson😍

I would have turned it upright so the pans sat on top of each other. But who knows if that's any better.
I organize by category as much as I can for pantry stuff. Well all organizing I guess. I bought a stainless pan organizing stand. Mine goes the other way so the pans sit in there flat. It saved me so much because every time I needed a pan I needed to lift all of them stacked within themselves and it got really heavy not to mention some of them are non stick and I didn't want them to get scratched up. I am trying to think now but I think mine got a little smaller as it went up?? But I started with the largest on the bottom and worked my way up. I totally love it. You are doing so great you're going to run out of places to redo :) Hi to Samson. I love when he makes his appearances.

Please test how hot the stove's bottom drawers get to make sure the parchment paper being in there isn't an issue.

Love watching your videos and brings me joy seeing these types of videos. I also have to redo our kitchen items and I’m both excited and nervous hahaha.
The reason why it takes me forever is because I have items I’m not sure what to do with because I’m debating if I want to sell them or keep them and use in a business . 🤷🏻♀️
But needs to get done regardless so I’m happy to do that and have a more peaceful home with everything in its proper place.
You can always box up the ones for the business and if you have space to store them while you make a decision and give yourself a deadline to do so. You're on the right track. Exciting to redo kitchen :) xo

Have you considered using a grout pen on the counter top and splashback tiles? I think it could give new life to it. I enjoy watching your videos because you are so calm in the way you talk and go about things.
Yes I actually bought sticker tiles for a video I was going to do several months ago but it didn’t work because the surface wasn’t smooth. Definitely doesn’t look right on top of tiles. Also they were modern subway tiles and it didn’t really go with the kitchen. I’m going to find a solution I think I might work on that in April 😅thank you for watching😍

Please always name your music. As a jazz vocalist, I often recognize the music, but mymind recall isnt the greatest. For folks who want to get a massage but cannot afford the prices, consider checking out your local community College. They often have massage students who will do it for very small price
I think you placed the steel organizer the best way for that cabinet but it was neat to see the process and how many configurations were possible. The beige baskets are nice but clear ones would help you see what you have better, especially when it comes to short items like the spices. How long did it take you or Samson to notice the kibble on the oven handle? 😂
😂 I had actually bought some clear containers at target but my measurements were half an inch off and they didn’t fit. So far it’s working really well though I just take the basket down that I need for coffee or spices☺️
