    There are three primary modes of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. Let's focus on conduction and convection:
    1. Conduction: Conduction is the process of heat transfer through direct contact between objects or substances that are at different temperatures. In conduction, heat energy flows from a region of higher temperature to a region of lower temperature. The molecules in the hotter region have more energy and transfer that energy to neighboring molecules through collisions. This process continues until thermal equilibrium is reached. Examples of conduction include heating a metal rod by placing one end in a flame or the transfer of heat from a hot skillet to food placed on it.
    2. Convection: Convection involves heat transfer through the movement of fluids (liquids or gases). It occurs due to the difference in density of the fluid caused by temperature variations. When a fluid is heated, it becomes less dense and rises, creating a convection current. Conversely, when a fluid is cooled, it becomes denser and sinks. This circulation of fluid transfers heat from one place to another. A common example of convection is the heating of a room by a radiator, where the air in contact with the hot surface becomes warm and rises, creating air currents that distribute heat throughout the room.
    Both conduction and convection play important roles in everyday heat transfer processes. Understanding these modes helps explain how heat is transferred in various scenarios.
