- The final MPO pairing of the opening round of the 2015 Memorial was truly memorable, with the card consisting of world champ Paul McBeth, US champ Will Schusterick, Japan Open winner Ricky Wysocki, and amateur world champion Jake LaPutka. The action takes place Wednesday at the Fountain Hills Disc Golf Course in Arizona.

I was looking for regular golf vids, but I find myself intrigued enough to stay. Cool sport.
Very fun sport. been competing for 12 years now and love it more and more each year
Dang, you must be good. Well, I finally bought a set of golf discs and will be hitting my first course this weekend! :)
Update: So the round was pretty brutal - the winds were like steady 20-30 mph all weekend. Had mostly bogeys and double bogeys (and one really unlucky throw where the disc landed but then rolled for 120 feet to the right - haha, I was swearing), but I got two pars too so there's still hope for me. Had lots of fun.
Marty keep up the awesome work! I'm very happy for you that Prodigy stepped up to support what you are doing and I am sure that you will continue to bring the best disc golf videos on the internet!
wow...you guys are ALREADY HATING ON MARTY?! Keep up the work Marty
Best coverage out there by far. Great work as usual Marty. Glad you got some sponsorship to keep this going!
Great quality and editing! Who cares about commentary or music. Just love to see all the shots as quick as possible. Great job!!
Great coverage!!
Grats, Marty. You deserve it. Keep up the good footage.
Beautiful course and nice footage
Another great video! Congrats to jake as well!
Nice videowork and overall quality. Good job
Good work and congrats on your new endeavor.
Nice job as always Marty!! I've been curious to see who might leave Prodigy & who might stay.....I see Ricky is with Lat 64 now, & Nikko's doing I guess a mixed bag. I MUCH prefer an edited video like this rather than wading through 3 to 4 hours of footage!!
wills sidearm is looking really improved...
Jeremy Koling Yeh he looks like he's actually driving with it now instead of just approaching. I guess distance-wise if that makes sense.
Awesome round Jake. Score doesn't reflect what you saw and did. Keep it up, man.
What camera do you use? Looks great!
Ricky's on fire!
Nice Video
tough looking course.
Jeremy Koling hope to see you at maple hill this year! Wasn't able to go last year but I'm not missing it this year!
And good luck with the next two rounds dude
What do you guys think about the Innova Disc Golf Set, it's a 3 disk starter kit? Haven't played before but am looking to start soon.. $33aud for the lot..
James Hart do it
Thanks Thelorn Lewis I did end up getting that kit.. I feel I have already moved far passed those plastics however.. I got lend of a few high end plastics from a few different brands in weights more like 170g instead of 150.. they feel so so much better
James Hart all my discs are 170-175.. but im no expert. Feel like i might pick up a more lightweight putter, maybe in 155-160 range... you like yours?
I am using a Yeti Pro Aviar in a 175 compared to my 150 DXaviar and the positive difference is amazing. so much more controllable compared to the light ones. also using 2 Omega supersoft millennium putters. very similar shape and same weight as my Yeti.. so essentially 3 same flight putters.. very very good! I also use a 173 Legacy Disc Mongoose and its amazing :) Investing in a couple 175 Roc3 this week
picked up a 158 APX and 171 Avair, i like the lighter for closer shots when i can just float it in, but the heavier putter when you have to throw with some authority. Im just not used to throwing the fatter putters yet.
Damn... 6 years now
Not meaning to be rude but can someone tell me what's going on with the back of Schusterick's neck?
+Chance Cooke I've been wondering the same thing but it looks like horrible acne scars.
+Jody Mitchell poison ivy scars
I like how they advertise a golf product before a disc golf tournament
I don't see how anyone could not like these videos. If you don't like the music, mute it. That button is on the bottom left. As for the rest, the quality is far superior to Terry Miller's (which I'm sure he knowingly sacrifices to stream live), and on top of that I don't have to watch a 4 hour video for the 30 minutes I care about.
Great videos, Marty, as always! Keep it up!
wait... someone planted a tree right next to 6? what the heck?
Niiiiice.
Laputka, showing why he's the AMATURE world champ.
But good for him deciding to move up and test the waters.
Amateur**
He played pretty solid out there, it's a tough course for the players like him who thrive in the short game and don't have a big arm. He only missed 1 in the circle and really didn't have much OB trouble. His score may not have reflected it but judging by the round, it looked like professional golf that just didn't come through in scores.
I don't see an HD option.
Patience. He just posted it. It has to render. Check back later.
djbme83 Oh yeah. I forget it takes extra time. Thanks.
Does LaPutka not know how to throw hyzer?
This is McFly right?
yup
You wouldn't know by watching this but putting actually can be hard sometimes:)
McBeth fkn kills it
Yeah Wysocki crushing it with his new and improved plastic! And did Will and Ricky not shake hands at the end?
Probably shook hands first and Marty didn't catch it.
Ricky's with Latitude now?! whhhhEEEENNNN did this happen?
Putting CLINIC! I wonder what Wysocki is putting with...
Zero Hard Dagger
No disrespect to LaPutka (Props to him for playing with such a good group of pros, as an am) but what's with all the falling putts? Are there different pro/am rules? I mean, even I avoid falling putts as a complete novice.
Ricky has to be the best putter outside of the circle. McBeth is probably just as good, if not better, but I like Ricky's effortless style.
+John Allport Agreed. They're the top 2 for sure. Paul seems to generally adjust better than Ricky when there's more to account for, like obstacles, weird footing, and/or increased pressure during a close final round. Ricky seems automatic to the point that I'm not even sure he really understands what he's doing that other players aren't. It's as you say: effortless. It makes for an interesting dynamic when they're both playing well.
What is the deal with everyone ignoring the teepads? Is this a TD decision?
From what I've heard the tee pads are kind of slick so yet TD made some of the tees bigger by adding an area off to one of the side so you don't have to risk slipping.
the tee pads SUCK and they are slippery. we had the choice of teeing off on the side for some of the holes. they grooved them for grip and then decided to coat them with some slick crap
So you sign with prodigy and all the sudden you stop syncing audio feed to video? Bummer. Sub par plastic AND video...
Haha yes Will seems to have shot 14 sub par with this plastic. Nice one.
music is meh and it would have been nice to see a card that was not already being followed.....this is almost old news.....
Nice putt on 6 by Mcbeth.
nice puts by ricky on all the others :)
@@mortendmortensen Haha - It took 6 years for a Ricky fan boy to show up. Rick is a great putter fjord sjord.
@@cthiggins4 better late than never
McDonalds just came out with a meal named McBeast. I don't know about you guys but I'll never throw plastic named after a chicken sandwich.
I'll never eat chicken named after plastic!
That's ignorant. there is no disc called the chicken sandwich. Nor is there a disc called the McBeast. That's a nickname given to the 3x World Champion who happens to throw the best plastic in the game. Let me guess.. you're a member of team Trilogy?
Not quite. I'm just a concerned golfer that has a problem with McBeth (who is wildly overrated, by the way) selling out to a large corporation like McDonalds. Have you seen how they treat chickens? Disgusting.
Jethro Bodine I for one can appreciate the trolling. 6/10 probably wouldn't engage in argument but at least you tried.
Adrian Zapata You're hating on TT, yet you talk like a huge Innova fanboy.
28:41-28:43 in the background you can hear a WTF drop, which is exactly how I reacted.
highlight of the round = spam shirt
Man LaPutka seemed really out of his depth...
Well he did just move up from AMs.
just an observation
Jeb Watson I could just imagine playing with though guys on my card... has to be crazy, im like your the guy on my disc...!
There are really only a few really bad shots that stick out, otherwise he looked really solid off the teepad. He played the peninsula holes great but it seemed like he just couldn't get the discs to stick. Looked really composed too, and he shot above his rating. I guess I just don't see it
I guess it's just the little stuff. I mean by the end just look at the score difference. That kind of says it all.
Hole 9.. dude there's a tree right there. I have nothing against prodigy discs and throwers.. but couldn't you please get someone who really knows how to film the sport?
