“&mother”
Loved it!
Mother of 4. Truly remarkable. I have two kids and can barely get off the couch on the weekend.
Race starts @ 4:13
Thanks
8:30, on the final results, Sara Vaughn, &MOTHER, LOL!
I loved her club, &MOTHER.
Video is exactly twice as long as needed. Great job, mom.
This is so cool.i love watching these stories!
Great job, Laura Galvan! I love witnessing records being broken.
Was exciting until the ultimate moment at the finish line when we had the wrong camera angle to witness the victory.
Yes what was with no camera at the finish line.
True
😳😰😅
Sara goes on to win the 2021 California International Marathon!
Very motivating.
Now that was really impressive...way to go Sara Vaughn!!
4 kids and sprinting god bless her
I guess... shes a seasoned ex-pro, not like it was some rando that came in blew everyone away.
@@mrsleep0000 Oh okay, so how many 4 kid moms could do the same?...you are obviously not a mother. Rando??
''She's a mom, and a real estate agent. She can do just about anything''
A professional runner beats the other pros in a race...that's literally what happened.
Hey 'she's a mom and a real estate agent, she can do just about anything!''
It's notable that she's old for a middle distance runner. There are thousands of amateurs who aren't as fast as they used to be, many pros who are full time and can barely keep up with their training schedules much less have a job and be a parent and keep up with training, and there are a ton of pros who retired long before 35 because they couldn't keep up with the field anymore... It's seriously impressive!
For anyone upset about the title, the average CZcamsr on running niche videos probably does not know who Sara Vaughn is like we do.
Consider this so-called click bait title a more effective way for Vaughn to get her name more exposed to the general running population, more-so than putting her specific name in the title ever would.
czcams.com/video/lR-xo1u9bM8/video.html
Is that what she said? I don’t think so. The problem is that it still triggers off and persists a disempowering and untrue narrative is that being a mom ends or diminishes anything - like being fast or an athlete like anyone else.
Sara's to do list: drop kids off at daycare, grab a gallon of milk on way home from work, win 1500 m race, take kiddies to Micky Dees to celebrate win!
Lol good one! How bout adding: Take kids to Micky Dees to celebrate win lollollollol!
@@p.j.4738 Added per your request!
Don't forget the 3 real estate deals she's working.
Umm ok?
She probably doesn't use a car, just throws the kids on the bike caddies and attaches it to her belt.
Im 39 now, Ive always thought 35 was the very peak of my athletic strength, so its not old in my book.
Amazing🤩👏👏👏👏
Race begins around 4:10, if you want to save time and not watch an extended commentary.
"Spectator friendly starting line"?? You're kidding, right? 100 people in attendance. Gotta be one of the funniest track announcer comments of all time. And that is quite tough with so many Larry Rawson clips to contend with. Not really his fault though, its the meet director. I didn't even know this meet, and I live pretty close to SAC. Thousands of SAC area track fans had no clue about this meet. This is truly a great stadium, this is one of the great underrated track stadiums in the world.
The cameras only point one way
4:00 "Moved the start for spectators...?"
Oh yes, you can see it's packed.
packed full of covid 🦠
They moved the start line but didn't move a CAMERA?
Peace...love...unity
Awesome. Beast mode!!!
WOW!!! unbelievable super super duper rare (not seen ever) camera angle on the finish SUPER GREAT JOB!!! how did you do it??.....................................................................................................................................NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freaking awesome close!!
Well done.
Just Wow !
Great execution of straby Sarah!
i misread and thought it said man lmfao
And here I am, I can't even run to the bathroom.
I like the competition! Yep!🌅
That camera work literally made me want to throw up... Thanks for the nauseousness.
You are very welcomed.
U aint special
Wanting to do something is transcended by actually doing it.
I was only disappointed by the switch to a head-on camera angle for the tight finish, making it very difficult to see what everything before it had been building up to.
@@steeplebob People are disappointed everyone its just part of life. C’mon man!
Sara Vaughn sang down the homestretch.
Great camera angle at end!! Smdh.
This venue (Hughes Stadium, Sacramento) is my 2nd favorite Track and Field venue (next to Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon)...and it was sad to see so FEW spectators at this meet. Sort of funny when the commentator in the video says that the starting line was moved in the race to make the race "more spectator friendly"!!!! Where were the spectators???
My favorite, Sarah Vaughn
Age means different factors for few people! BIG congratulations 4 the 35 years meaningless number winner, but more like 18 yrs with excellent heart, lung, etc., etc.!
Age is relevant in middle distance running as it tends to lower VO2max (everything else being equal).
By decreeing that it's a "meaningless number" you are, ironically enough, making light of her talent and training.
"They switched the starting line to make it more spectator friendly". All three spectators?
I think they meant for camera?
@Fred Wills Take issue with the announcer, friend. I just paraphrased what he said on the video. BTW, I'm well aware of the math involved, but thanks for your expertise. Captain Obvious strikes again!
@Fred Wills no
The winner being a mother is irrelevant. Vaughn's best time is 4:04, which means she was one of the fastest women in that field and should be either winning it or coming second. The fact she is a mother just plays into the hands of the media.
Ave Fenix🏆
Wanting to do something is transcended by actually doing it.
What is the date of this race?
ARC? I can't think of any Track in Sac'to that has the freeway that close.
Sara !!!!!
let’s work on this title Flotrack. Maybe her name, sponsor, accomplishments? Instead of click bait?
Or maybe don't spoil the race at all.
Go get 'em mum!
Odd that those younger gals went down to their knees after the race was over and Vaughn just walks around like she hasn't even ran yet.
Surprised they didn't show a finish line reply from the point of view of the International Space Station.
Did anyone tell the public this meet was happening?
17 seconds from the WR and against a bunch of 10K specialists. Not a real big deal.
Is there a reason you say 'hip number' rather than just number?
Race STARTS at 4:11
fukn AWESOME
Go team &Mother
4:13 is where the race actually starts.
Thanks the tip Dave...appreciate it
Incredible when you think that they used to say 4 minute miles were impossible.
this is a 1500 bro
@@AnthonyDavis-kh7zd
yes, I know
It's still amazing how things have changed
Sub 5 min mile good for person born 2007??
Yea

@@michaellacey4157 why are you asking?
Yes, Keep going.
Stay dedicated
1500 meters 🏃♂️...running...lol..has had 4 children...not afraid of pain!Sarah Vaughn
She must be eating Pork Burritos the local good Truck....I kid I kid.
This video shot with an iPhone 1.
You push out 4 babies - you know how to take pain ..
probably the only one on the field that actually carbo loads for energy eats fats for digestion and the obvious these days..protein for muscle...
Old enough to run for president
Thought that said man
35 ain't that old. I get that it's rare but it's not like she's 70
it’s pretty old for a middle distance runner
70. Right.
@@bluu_ash2394 this video was made to bring casuals into the sport. Probably why we seeing alot of stupid comments
Its old in this effing youth culture we are stuck in
@@bluu_ash2394 - Strength and speed peak at around 28 years old. Endurance, early 30s, a little later for women.
It's not 10K endurance, but I would say 35 might not be that far off from her peak.
“35-year old mom”-meanwhile Kristen Armstrong aged 42 wind GOLD in the 2016 Olympic cycling time trial.😆. Also Amber Neben, aged 46, just qualified for the Olympics in cycling. Yes I’m aware cycling and running are different; however, there are lots of crossover athletes.
🤨
Very different sports with very different training and retirement/peaking ages. Yes they might have crossover athletes as u say but thats because of the similarity in required fitness. Either way the title was just used to clickbait people into the sport
Armstrong eh?
Running and cycling are two entirely different animals . Ive done numerous triathlons and the most unfair event of the three disciplines is the bike. Where swimming and running require sheer individual ability, it's the athlete with the best, most expensive bike that has the advantage. I compete with a bike worth about $1,400 but I get whipped by guys (and a big percentage of women) that cruise by me with $3,500 rockets but can't touch me in the swim/run stages. I can't tell you how many triathlons I've been in where I come out of the water ahead of competitors , get buried with faster, lighter, more technologically advanced bikes, than having to flag them all down with sheer running guts...
@@douglasmiller346 I raced pro as a triathlete, a cyclist, and as a runner, and the best cyclists don’t need the most expensive bikes to win. The same can be said then about Nike’s new carbon racing shoes which many elites wear but are out of most peoples’ price range. Also, I mentioned time trialing, not road racing, as the comparison which is an individual effort against the clock.
Actually she just babysits four kids for others.
Maybe those other ladies should have a baby to lower their times…LOL
Wow 4 kids and hubby still can't out run her when he pisses her off! hahahaha
Great video, it looked slow and at the end, camera angle made it worst... Videos like this one, need a person doing the talking spiced, mentioning the names of the runners once they show their face on camera, no matter if they the last or middle or ahead of E-body, but 10 times faster than what she is doing it... Jesus, she sounded like:
Ok. ... Nòw 🥴.. Sara is lea.😪.ding the -race 🤔 at this moment 🥵 and i 🤧 need 🤯 õxïyęn 🤣 🤣 🤣...👍
Scott should have been disqualified for cutting off Infeld with 120 to go.
It takes a lot to chase down toddlers;)
Uhh
Terrible camera work by not showing the finish.

Who isn’t a real estate agent?
Third and last
girlboss
the commentator was not very polished...lol

While sports has been predominately male who typically early 30s, women just get better with age!
Scott should be disqualified because she cutoff Galvan impending her momentum and causing her to loose the race. She put on the brakes after getting in front of her!
What??? Scott (blonde woman, #4) was never in front of Galvan.
@@binkyxz3 Did we not watch the same video? At 7:45 Scott passes Galvan, and then slows down so much that Galvan has to pull up and almost trips. I don't know if it's DQ-worthy, but Scott absolutely was in front of Galvan.
She tried to pass her and start the kick. She didnt go in front to slow down. She cut in quick and didnt space her move correctly and clipped her a little bit. Probably messed up Doms finish too. Happens in middle distance races. Dom should have check space better and the other girl kind of let herself get boxed in. Not DQ worthy for anyone.
@@Spaminator3000 Yea, my bad. Scott didn't judge well when it was clear to cut in, but its hard to see behind you. Agree with metadude, no DQ.
much less talking, please... MUCH less.
This video should be entitled, announcer gets dry mouth and voice crack during a race noone watched from the stands. Too wordy?
35 yrs old? Men peak at 18, but women don't peak
until 36?
She is in her prime.
The whole ease archaeologically communicate because beam clearly obey between a scared mercury. placid, coordinated drawbridge
"...and Mother?..😕" Do you get extra points on your time for that? It's like saying, "all of you childless runners should be quicker than a runner who has a child! Shame on you."
well, unless youre Serena Williams(who's filthy rich playing tennis , having sponsorship and appearing in commercials and can afford a Nanny to watch her daughter while she's practicing/touring) I'm inclined to believe that Sara's job as a real agent isn't exactly having her rollin' in the dough while raising 4 children. I think that Sara has done more remarkable feats than most women who are single...
More proof that unless its beach volleyball, NOBODY goes to see women athletes
terrible video, marginal commentary
Have y’all considered changing this very sexist title? Does this 35 year old mom have a name? Are they not also a professional?
What’s sexist about it?
If you knew sara vaughn(the winner in this vid) you’d know she’s a proud mother who calls herself “mother runner”. That’s kind of her thing, so this tittle wouldn’t offend her. In fact, she’d probably love seeing this title as it recognizes that even while she’s a mother of 4, she can still run at an elite level. Just look at the club name she ran under for this meet lol “&mother”.
@@jonnyrg7489 Some people are just eager to be offended. They get satisfaction when people comply to their offended disposition.

You're crying about it but she definitely isn't. Definition of a loser.
