If they're removed every time you clean your gun they're unlikely to stick, especially if greased

This bit of kit is superb, does exactly what it ses on the tin. My choke was badly rusted in ( my fault ) but this saved the day , spot on !!!

would these mar the inside of the choke and meant to remove a choke that is to be replaced?

Yes. I think this is more of a tool as a last ditch effort tool to remove chokes that won’t come out any other way. This is why chokes must ALWAYS be inserted with anti seize grease on the threads, as well as removing them for a full cleaning after each day of shooting the gun. Then reapply grease on the threads and don’t over tighten.
