Ever since 2008 and both sides were declaring the stakes as being, "tHe MoSt iMpOrTaNt eLeCtiOn oF OuR LyFeTiMe" BS it's clearly losing its effectiveness, though given the stakes with the Supreme Court and an autocrat like tRump who wants to crush democracy as we know it, its kind of hard to argue with right now. Keeping the -Right Wing- Fascist out of Power does feel pretty urgent. Even midterms have a feeling of urgency. It's hard not to when one side is actively pushing us away from democracy, and the side thats supposed to defending feels like a bunch of floundering wimps more often than not.
Wasn't as true in the past when democrats were actually against opening up borders to millions of illegals. Les tha a decade ago, Bernie Sanders spoke about how illegals were crushing Americans on the bottom.
The Democrats are saying that Trump "threatens our democracy" because he is leading Biden in the polls, not because Trump is a threat to our democracy.
