In my days we play through the fire and flames.
Expert is hard at first because there are 5 buttons, but then you get the hang of it after 25 mins or so

Pretty much. Developers of the mode is Harmonix, the folks behind Guitar Hero/Rock Band.
They need to create controllers for fortnite resembling the instruments like in guitar hero/ rock band that would be lit

Anybody know how I can get the characters to play their instruments as well as myself and not have myself be a statue while I'm playing the notes in Xbox One? The AIs work, but not my character model.

i think what they need to add to FN festival is animations that fit the songs, now the animations of the characters on stage are just default and make no sense combined with the specific songs, but if they made each song its own animations it would be CRAZY

I play drums in real life and could probably play any of those songs, and that would actually be easier than this lol

How does overdrive work? When I activate it, it breaks my combo.
gives you 2x points for a short time. try to time it with another beat when you activate it! that way it won’t break your streak.

What do the arrows above the notes mean, I'm a bit confused seeing as there wasn't a tutorial
Basically they are another note, either you can tap again on them like they are a note or release your button when they come because they're always after a note. They are pretty fucking stupid idk why they added them instead of just another note
The triangle notes are called Lift Notes. they work like this.
They will have one note in front of it which you tap & hold and let go when the triangle is on the slider thing at the bottom, hence the name Lift Note.
You play the note, hold it down, and let go on the triangle

Are you able to use midi controllers?
No. At least not yet. Epic games said they are working with Harmonix to bring support for those controllers to Fortnite Festival

What do you have to do at the triangles?
When you see the triangle after a note, press the button to register the note, then keep holding the button and release it at the triangle.
if u play robeats or any osumania type games it’s pretty easy
Can someone explain how the triangle notes work? I'm downloading the game and want to know what those notes mean.
you keep the button held down then you pull up when you get to the arrow
I think it's like a "release" indicator. I kind of saw it as an up arrow. So when I see it after a note, I know to hold the button and then let it go at the triangle. So it's like a hold note, but shorter and you need to release it at the appropriate time. At 1:51, I hit the button then when the triangle comes, I release it, then press it again for the next note and hold it.

0:24 Once you're in a lobby where you can select a song, go to the settings and then to game. The Festival settings will be at the bottom to adjust.

I regularly play other rhythm games that are pretty similar to this style of gameplay. I've also played Guitar Hero and Rock Band way back when those were big.

No, using a keyboard. I did hear that the developers are working on official support for instrument controllers though.

When the triangles appear in the notes, what should I do? just press the button again?
I believe it's when you should release the button after pressing it. Think of it as an up arrow. So when you see that after a note, it's more or less a hold without the long streak and the triangle is the indicator of when you need to release the hold.

Yeah, I'm aware that playing the licensed tracks won't get the video blocked, but it usually will prevent me from monetizing it. So I just stuck with the original tracks for this gameplay video. And any future gameplay that features licensed tracks, will be separate videos.

Not on this video, since I only played the Fortnite tracks. The ones where I played licensed songs, yes. It's only a content id flag though, and not a takedown or strike. I just can't run ads on them, but the video can stay up.
