They packed a lot of talent, fun, musicality, and vocal excellence into this "biggie". It's one of my favorites from their mini-esqe portfolio. I think Cesar was making storm sounds after bonking Layne on the head...though I suppose that could have been someone else.
And again I hit enter instead of shift+enter. I wouldn't mind if you decided to react to the minis but if you do, I recommend doing multiples in one video instead of a single video for just one mini. Not that you probably couldn't find stuff to talk about for more than 5 minutes but I get more enjoyment out of your longer videos.
If you do decide you want to check out more of VP’s minis (which you should 😉) there’s a super simple way to get out of the shorts format and into the regular video format on CZcams. You just go to the url of the video, replace the word “shorts” with the word “watch” and then hit enter. It’ll turn the short into a regular, pausable, rewindable CZcams video!
oh that's a great solution! I was going to suggest that he watch them through the patron early release links - those are in the standard watch format rather than the short format
I have been so obsessed with this since it came out, they just did a great job with it. Like everything about it is perfect, honestly they can never disappoint me they are just the best. More Please!! I'd love to hear more of the minis. Many reactors are bunching them in groups, which is great! They have some AWESOME minis, which actually really ticks me off sometimes that they are not full length. 😂
You had the same physical reaction to Geoff's solo line that I did. How can anyone listen to this and not want to get up and move? Except you have to watch to see all the shenanigans, the props, etc. Eli has a map, Geoff a tankard, Anthony a lantern, Layne with the crazy eyeball, and Cesar with the glasses, earring, and hook. They always look like they have fun with the lighthearted songs but this one seems especially fun. I do hope you react to a collection of minis.
I LOVE this one--it's my very favorite of their short-type releases. It's not just that the BGVs change every verse, but the chorus changes subtly every time, too. They did SO MUCH STUFF here, and I missed some of it until I watched this video. Cesar always Goes For It in these, and I love it so much. I hadn't thought about how bright his tone still was as he sang lower. There's always a lot of (justified!) talk about how high Eli in particular can pull his chest voice, but there should be some love for the ability to keep one's voice bright and clear when descending toward the low end, so thank you! Mortius, this was so much fun to watch! I mostly watch VP and Home Free reactions, and I am always excited when I see you've done one, because I know that even if it isn't your new favorite thing in the world, I will still end up leaving both with a deeper appreciation of the song and also feeling uplifted! I've seen others commenting on how to make the shorts play like regular videos, and if you decide you're up for that, I will absolutely be here for your reactions!

I literally got this recommended in after listening to their cover, and I was obsessing over Eli's belt at 1:35. First thing I hear on this video is you reacting just as giddy as me at that same belt :)
I've heard Wellerman by other artists and was not impressed. Making it fun was such a good choice. I highly recommend doing reactions to two or three minis at a time. Maybe same featured artist or similar theme.
I'm so glad i found your channel to see your reaction to this. I LOVE this version of Wellerman, but watching your reaction I saw all sorts of things I hadn't noticed before -- the notes that Geoff sang near the beginning, the gesture and sound Cesar made during Layne's solo (which somehow had escaped me after all these times of watching it -- how?!?), the details of the rhythm of the chest slaps. Your delight with all the various parts of the video that have always delighted me was so fun to watch. And by the way, you have an amazing voice too -- I was very impressed to hear you drop down to the bass line and hit some of Geoff's notes. Over all a terrific reaction video -- new subscriber. 😊
I too miss so many things until pointed out to me. One thing I noticed that drives me up a wall, though no one else seems to hear it, is at 2:06 when Anthony sings "Abili-A-ty" instead of just "Ability". ARRRGHHHH! lol

"A billy is an Australian term for a metal container used for boiling water, making tea or cooking over a fire123. It is a small can, tin or pot used on a campfire for boiling water/tea etc." With knowing the definition now, this makes perfect sense, along with the chorus of sugar, TEA, and rum. I may be 72 now but I've never lost my love of learning. Thank you for replying.

I really loved this take on the Wellerman. It was just so much fun! I think all of them were making ocean noises during Layne's section. If you watch, most of them were doing vocal and semi-percussive types of things.
This song is so jaunty - best word for it. I’ve taken to playing it first thing every morning! I especially love Eli’s high swell on ‘all’ - it feels like riding a wave! All of it is great, but that’s my favorite part. Lots of next to favorite parts though!

Honestly, watching you totally geek out over this in the way that I did when I first saw it is SO much fun. I swear I've listened to this hundreds of times now, and every single time, I get goosebumps. It's incredible. I'd been hoping for a really good full a capella version after hearing the part that Home Free did, and I'm eternally glad that Voiceplay delivered because it's STUNNING. I won’t pretend to know everything about VP’s creative process, I could be wrong, but I do know it would be VERY difficult to get audio that crisp in an open mall like that

This one was a full song and I'm all here for it. I usually dislike the minis because they're so good that I want full versions of all of them.

Yes! Alternatively watch them in the minis playlist (which works the same so long as you don't let it get to the end and move on to the next video).
