    why did you scrap the rods for new ones not the case with the busted piston and rod but the other one ?

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před 2 lety +3

      because the rod and bearing kit comes with new rods and crank bushing we were making this as close to new as possible . this pump goes in a factory where it runs non stop for 8 -10 hrs a day.

    Hey, thanks for posting this series, I'm rebuilding a 2545 so it has been invaluable. On the pump that I'm rebuilding, the inside had a water/oil mix and rust. it had been sitting under a lean-to for a year or two. It is a 2018 model. Do you know how water would get in the pump housing? Maybe a bad shaft seal? Also to get the rust out of the housing I had to take it down to bare metal, do you know what type of coating I should put on the inside to prevent rust? Thanks,

    What is the best suitable number for oil that will be used for 2000 working hours?

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před 10 měsíci

      I use Amsoil 20W compressor oil. PCIQT-Ea is the part number. if you are in a hot environment I would use the Amsoil 30/40 compressor oil PCKQT-Ea.

I will email in a price quote tonight so monday I can give you a firm price.

    Question please engineer: Can this type of compressor handle 24 hours of continuous operation?

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yes. you should be changing your oil every 500hrs for regular oil. or every 2000 hrs with synthetic. make sure it is getting enough circulation( air movement) .
      if you have any more questions you may contact me through thecompressorguru.com

    Hi sir, my name is fachrudin from indonesia..may i ask to you sir...can i know whats material did you use for bushing as compresor??thanks

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před rokem

      Hi fachrudin thanks for reaching out. I am not sure which bushing you are asking about.
      the Crank rod bushing is a machined steel. it goes on the crank shaft and the connecting rods go over it .
      the wrist pin bushings are brass. I did not talk about these so I assume you are asking about the crank pin bushing.
      our rod and bearing kit includes the new rods with the new wrist pin bushings. it also includes a new crank pin bushing roller bearing and the gaskets needed to replace all mentioned. good luck.

      @@THECompressorGuru yes, i mean crank pin bushing sir ( it made from machine steel with harden steel or not ? )
      And for the bearing, if i use ball bearing not roller bearing its ok or not ?

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před rokem

      @@fachrudine I do not know the hardness of the crank pin bushing. as for the roller bearing I used the wrong word they are ball bearing units.

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před rokem

      @@fachrudine thinking about it it is probably not that hard because the rods are the only aluminum. it is only the rods that move on the bearing the bearing does NOT move on the crank

    rebuilding my saylor beall 705 ,is there any method for checking clearance for oil in the rod bearing. Just installed new bearings and I feel a little movement between the bearing and crankshaft. Simply put is there a acceptable tolerance or should I have the crankshaft out and miced?

    • @THECompressorGuru
      @THECompressorGuru  Před 2 lety +2

      I am sure there is a clearance spec. I do not have it off the top f my head. nut you can also use a plastic gauge kit. you put a piece of plastic between the insert and the crank torque the bolts and measure the plastic . a chart will then tell you what clearance you have . you can contact Saylor Beal and ask for the clearance and then you will know where you are at . you can buy a plastic gauge kit at most advance auto stores.
