Question #2 (see my previous comment). How do I get the F-STOP function? I've tried, but don't see it anywhere in my manual menu
Hello Brian, thank you for takng the time to show us this camera. I own a G60, the European version called Legria. Same exact camera as the Vixia. I searched throughout the entire menu, I can't find or activate the custom picture (cp1, cp2, cp3...etc). Should I be in a certain mode? I tried in manual but I only see 3 options when I press the function buton on the screen and go down. It is only 1, 2 or 3. Am I doing something wrong? HAve a great day
I had the G50, and had awful white balance issues in auto. It would turn everything blue almost immediately. I sold it, and got the HF G70. It does the same thing. I have to use manual, but, I make mistakes in Manual. I am just sitting at a desk. I feel like AUTO should be OK for me. I am thinking about selling again. I've read others with the same issue, but, no solution. Any thoughts? I don't have this problem on my Sony Mirrorless, or 5D MKII, or IPHONE, or Insta360, or Hero 10. Only these Canon, which is what I use for my CZcams content. Any thoughts, on what drives this camera to throw off the white balance to blue tint? It does it in both rooms I shoot in. I use mostly LED lights. I do have a grey card, but, thought I could only adjust in post. I am going to try the method you showed for the card (thanks for that tip!). BUT... I'd love to be able to use AUTO.

New to cameras.. If you accidentally recorded in 59.98P , the video is not fluent and sound does not match . Can this be fixed with software or via the camera for already recorded material?
No, unfortunately not. You would have to put the video onto a 59.98p timeline in order to get proper audio/video sync. Pro tip: always record any video that you will be using the audio in the native timeline frame rate. Only use higher frame rates for B-roll and footage where you do not need the audio in the final video.
any chance you could quickly go over each custom profile like the WIDE DR one so we can see the settings? I have a G50 and would love to be able to set up some profiles. much thanks

Austin, thank you for watching and taking the time to leave your kind words. To control the exposure settings on the camera make sure you are in Manual mode on the switch on the top right hand side of the camera and that you are in M mode on the camera’s internal settings. This will ensure you will be able to control your exposure with dial on the front lower left hand side of the camcorder. You can also select them on the touch screen to get instant access to editing their settings. I can make a video showing these methods if you are not sure what I am suggesting.

Hello Brian, is it possible to see the settings for the c-log3 custom picture. I want to copy it for my hf g70? Thanks
So, with the CLog3 there are less adjustable settings in that profile. For example, on my G60 I cannot adjust the Black Master Pedestal. You may find you are able to adjust that on your G70. With that being said, I use the same adjustments on page 5 and page 7 of the profile customization. +10 for Sharpness Level and +20 for Color Matrix Tuning Gain. I have experimented with this and have started out at 0 Sharpness and -9 Gain and ended up using the same adjustments I use for the Wide DR mentioned above. Also, feel free to experiment with the Color Matrix: Neutral or Video may work better for you and what you are trying to accomplish. I have mine set to Production Camera which is supposed to make your footage work better if you are combining it with footage shot on a Canon Production Camera. I have read where Production Camera is supposed to mimic ARRI, but I really have no evidence of that other than what I have read. Also, Canon tells us their Neutral Color Matrix is supposed to provide the most accurate colors off of the sensor, so that may be more of what you are wanting. Also, here is a pretty good video that shows the differences in the three Color Matrixes, albeit on a Canon Cinema Camera, but the information is pretty easy to understand the way it is presented in this video: czcams.com/video/5QHmnmMf2Sg/video.html
how do you pick up audio from the onboard microphone of the camera?
Hello, Beau. If you are not able to see an audio signal on your camera's audio level meter then perhaps the level is turned all the way down. After turning on the camera select the FUNC button to bring the camera's functions menu system up. On the left side of the menu choose the Audio icon which is all the way at the bottom of this menu system. Look to see what the level is set to on the bottom right side of the on screen audio meter. If it is at 0 then that means the microphone's level is turned all the way down and will not record any audio. Turn it up while speaking to set it to a level that is appropriate for the content you are planning on recording. You can also choose to set the camera's onboard microphone to (A)uto mode so that it will control your audio for you so you can just concentrate of capturing optimal video footage.
