At first it was going well.
Then setback after setback..

Report of a 1st Lieutenant
December 28th, 2019
8. Eight months. 8 Fucking months since we heard anything.
Most of the crew's lost hope. The Captain's locked himself in his quarters, refusing to speak with anyone. He won't even come out to eat. Whoever hasn't gone mad, is on the brink.
The canteen was raided a few days ago by the 1st members of the Insane Group. Anyone who had food that wasn't in the canteen got lucky. The raiders made off with everything, and sealed off the lowest deck. We've considered forcing our way in to get back the supplies, but the lower parts contain the engine. A raid could mean the destruction of the whole ship.
I've started to lose my humanity in here. I've caught myself wishing the sick were tossed overboard. I've wanted the wounded to bleed out. This god damn dry spell has everyone suffering. Hell, about half the crew is already dead.
I don't know how long we can hold. The madness is seeping into me. I hear things that aren't there, i see things that don't exist. I'm going crazy. If we don't find a way to break this curse soon, then we'll all be dead men.
Please, if you can find this, send help. If you hear this, break the dry spe-*explosion and gunfire*

It has been 4 days since the incident everyone is either dead or left and i am one of those who are dumb enough to stay
The 1st lieutenant was severly injured in the incident i don't think he will last long from his injuries while the captain is still in his quarters not responding to any of us outside we tried to open the door but its shut tight is he dead?
Most of the crew who stayed nearly looked like skeletons i even heard rumors of one of em eating somebody toes off
Yet again we haven't heard anything for 8 straight months and the 1st lieutenant is what i would presume is nearing death i and the crew's are getting desperate
I cannot comprehend what i have done will god even forgive me? One of the crewmate saw us trying to end the 1st lieutenant and rushed at me i had to do it hadn't i?
I will never be forgiven there is no redemption for me i will burn until the end of times may my soul be spared

Almost everyone aboard is dead, except us the "crazy" folk, we raided the canteen the first months and been struggling to survive ever since. The lower deck bursted into chaos after 2 months, the amount of food in the canteen was wasted on the sick and wounded. wounded. Good thing i snatched some of the resources. I sinned and almost lost my humanity in that mad, mad period of a time. Had to resort to exceptionally disgusting monstrosities to stay alive..

Bed Walked into the building, his hands sore and bloody from all the fighting. As the sun fell below and darkness covered the land he put his rifle down and open his bag. Rummaging through it he pulls out the teddy bear and the family photo Buck asked for his birthday. Bed smiled to himself thinking: "Buck's gonna love this, this will be his best birthday yet!" As Bed navigated though the hollow building he struggled to find Buck or Tomato. "Tomato?" said Bed " Buck? Lil'Buck?" He wandered around the desolate building in search of them. "I'm here for the birthday party."
The radio spurted up to life. "You fucking idiot" Tomato said mockingly "Did you really think we were having a birthday party bed? Out here in the middle of nowhere?" "The Hell?!" Said Bed. "What the hell are you talking about?" "Oh my God you really did." said Tomato over the radio now more aggressively. "Think about it, you didn't need a party to go to you needed a reason to leave Bed. You Fucking psycho." Bed further confused and stunned at Tomato's shift in tone and horrified as Tomato finally revealed the truth. "And you brought your friends to boot. Oh that's real fucked up." Bed Reflected upon his journey as the revelation and guilt of his selfish actions sank in. "And for what? Your just a masochist punishing himself, creating whatever reason he needs to do it. Look at you, LOOK AT YOU!"
Bed was overwhelmed by the flood of memories, thoughts and emotions. The guilt, the rage, the sorrow the birthday cake. His mind slipped away from his body as Tomato continued to rage and scold him for his actions. "Welcome to the party!" Tomato said before Beds mind dissolved at the revelation "Welcome to the party!" Bed was in a free fall, his mind lost while his body simply wandered for hours. When Bed's mind finally came back he was on the floor his arms around Tomato. His body twisted and broken like his neck. Bed threw his body onto the floor with horror at what he had done. and stumbled towards the edge of the building as the sun rose up once again leaving Bed all alone with only one thought. "Happy birthday Bed! Happy Birthday!"
The Radio flizzled to life "He-Hey are you going to Criken's birthday party later?" Said Charborg.
Next time on super happy fun time charborg fights bed to the death in space

what's epic games done that I missed? I thought they were open sourcing a multiplayer game engine and making a Steam competitor
The biggest issue is that, instead of making a better launcher, they are buying exclusivity. It's pretty close to console war bullshit. Then there was them snooping on your files specifically Steam files, but I don't know much about that. The wildest accusations are that 40% of Epic is owned by a Chinese company and they are using their launcher to spy on people.
