Highest grossing animated film is the lion ming remake. (I looked this up) the Mario movie is 11th or 10th tho (as of when I looked it up)
@@rosa_the_folfster6778 the super Mario bros movie reached the 1 billion dollar mark last Sunday. If it hasn’t yet, I’m sure it’s gonna soon. And with less than half the budget of the lion king remake too.
To be fair one of the easiest ways to ruin a movie is to oversaturate it with characters to the point they don't get enough screen time, besides this way they have something for the next movie .
I mean, given the duo are the bastards of Foreman Spike who does appear in the film, even some mention of a line like “Not like my two boys” or something could’ve been good when talking disparagingly about the Mario Brothers

Yoshis Island 2 happens right after Yoshi's Island 1 which happens right after the Mario Twins are born.

I remember looking at Mario & Luigi's family, trying to spot the movie's take on their cousin Wario's look. Would they go with the classic look? Game Dev Wario's biker look? (Wario Ware Inc). But I guess he wasn't any of them...

I hope that Wario and Waluigi make an appearance in the next Mario movie, maybe as the antagonists or just rivals to Mario and Luigi.

I like to imagine they'd be introduced with a parody to the Mario Bros early scenes of them trying to be plumbers, but it goes wrong faster do to Wario secretly raiding the customer's fridge and breaking the plumbing by strong-arming it to much. While Waluigi cheaps out on the parts/tools and tries to steal the dog to cash in on the resulting "Missing: Dog" reward money.
Also maybe they're despite to gain money quickly because Wario's idea on how to quit their old job got them sued, and when the plumbing thing doesn't work out, they follow the Mario Bros to the Mushroom Kingdom and free Bowser when he offers them all the gold coins they can carry in exchange for helping him.
Wario: (after learning the Mario film made billions) OH MY GOD!!!! WAAAAAAAAH!!!! (has a heart attack)
Waluigi: OH GOD!!! NOT AGAIN!!!! (gets the star to revive Wario for the umpteenth time)
