Kalsubai Peak (कळसूबाई शिखर) is the highest point of Maharashtra standing at approx 1646 meter (5400 ft). The trail attracts a lot of trekkers because it is the highest peak of the state.
The peak of Kalsubai has a temple that draws a lot of people from nearby villages.
• What is the height gain of Kalsubai from Base village?
Overall elevation gain from Base village (approx 2000ft) to Summit is approx 3000-3500 ft.
• Is Kalsubai a difficult trek?
Kalsubai is an easy trek and beginners can attempt it. The trail is not very steep but includes long distance thus requires endurance. Kalsubai is a one day trek near Mumbai
•Where is Kalsubai and which peaks can be seen from Kalsubai?
Kalsubai is to north of the Bhandardara backwaters. From the peak you get a good view of Arthur Lake. To the north of the mountain range forts such as Ramsej, Harihargad, Brahmagiri, Anjaneri, Ghargad, Bahula, Tringalwadi, Kavnai can be seen. To the east one can spot Aundha, Vishramgad, Bitangad, to the west Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad (southwest), and to the south Pabhargad, Ghanchakkar, Harishchandragad can be seen.
A traditional prayer service is held every Tuesday and Thursday by a priest at the temple on the summit. During the festival of Navratri a fair comes to be organized each year with many stalls being set up near the summit to provide pooja materials to the devotees. On these special occasions, local villagers participate in this fair which helps to supplement their livelihood and as well as provides them an opportunity to revere the mountain.
I met Parth Upadhyay, the mountaineer I look up to, while leading this trek. We had a brief conversation and it was really inspiring and motivating to talk to him.

Ya it's open and no restrictions as of now, but possibly avoid weekends, it gets very crowded
