- Steven Fletcher netted a hat-trick as Scotland overpowered Group D opponents Gibraltar to win 6-1 at Hampden Park.
Shaun Maloney also scored two penalties and Steven Naismith got his fifth Scotland goal in a game that was out of sight for the visitors by half-time.
The result puts Scotland on 10 points after five Group D games, their best start to a qualification campaign since 2007.

I think we can qualify this year, although Poland are very strong, I think Scotland and Germany will make it.
Hopefully we have beaten Poland before last year,and Ireland this year.Georgia game is a must win to they always give us a tough game over there hopefully they are not as strong with so many quality players retired,and we can exploit that can remember them stopping us reaching the finals when big Eck was boss

I think they can beat Ireland Gilborta hoping Georgia and I got a funny feeling they can beat Poland at hampden they where unlucky in Warsaw they could of won there

This wasn't really convincing! It was a big enough score but our goals were all kind of scrappy. This was against a really a tiny nation and a new team. But it hard to motivate yourself for such a game. So I don't suppose it is a barometer. We got lucky in Poland with the draw, I think they are and were a better team. But now we got that luck, with the tartan army roar in Glasgow we could have a stirring, ugly, 1-0, slogged out, battled, impassioned victory against them. Then you would tip us as favourites to qualify with Germany! Providing we don't have another disaster in Georgia on Friday.
Gibralter robbed. Penalty was not a penalty. Gave the advantage to Scotia. Second penalty cheating wee Naismith again was falling over. He never cheated like this when he played for KILLIE, only after he went to the blue noses
