    And there's
    Amad - 2 Starts 1 game and 1goal.
    I'll like to see how Hojlund and Amad play together and gel going forward, since they both came in from Atlanta's model.

  • @ste4392
    @ste4392 Před 19 dny +40

    ETH has already said he really rates Amad, but the lad has had a serious injury and he didn't want to rush him back. Amrabat has had injuries all season, he wasn't in the squad as recently as Coventry, because he was injured again. Amad came back in January or February, he's eased him back in. People have complained about injuries and rushing players back, look at Martinez, Shaw, Mount, Malacia

    • @robertvenes9545
      @robertvenes9545 Před 19 dny +2

      Agree on this. Amrabat didn't have pre-season, arrived injured, played out of position due to other injuries, then after Christmas was in Cup of Nations and then got injured again in April.
      The sudden love for Amrabat is (as ever) very after the fact. No idea if they should retain him or not.
      Wished we'd seen more of Amad but as you say he out injured for ages and needed to be carefully brought back - one of his first starts was last week and he went off during the game.
      I do wish we could just enjoy two players performing well without looking to see who we can have a go at.

    • @ste4392
      @ste4392 Před 19 dny +1

      @@robertvenes9545 yeh, I think Amrabat showed against Chelsea what he's capable of earlier in the season and then got injured again. The price has to be right, but I think at 28, he's in his best years and would be a great squad player. Don't think he's the answer to start every week at 6, but to rotate with an athletic 6 next to Mainoo he could be the man. Especially with Casemiro apparently going

    Martial had everything it takes to be a genuinely world class player - physically. But he wasn't strong enough mentally to perform week in week out for a top club. He leaves me with a strong sense of what might have been. Certainly, I don't think that the initial signing was a mistake.

    I personally think Hojlund offers more outside of the box too. His pace can be used as an asset and compared to someone like Haaland he has way more techincal ability. He can drift past players, nutmegs, flicks, you name it, he can send through balls into the wingers, like you saw against wolves. I just think he offers more if he doesn't just stay in the box all the time. His back injuries could be a reason why his hold-up play has deteriorated, if he works on that after the Euros, he can have the ability to hold of defenders

    Wobbling during games and straight after games is just an emotional response Sam, you’re only human. A few days later, your emotions relax and your support returns. You’re clearly Ten Hag in 95% of the time, most of us are the same, it’s difficult not to be overtaken by emotion with the team you love.

    Erik ten hag did say in hes speech we had a terrible season but that there is yet something to fight for, another 3 points, and a cup. He was brave to do that, and something ive wanted to see from him and it is what you want in a leader, that is a proper manager who can handle the pressure.
    Lets beat Brighton, then City. That will be the perfect ending of a terrible season. GGMU!

  • @jgmediting7770

    The game model this year is a transition to something else. The idea it’s the end destination that ten hag wants every season, or that tan hag will be told to change his longer term intentions is ridiculous.
    The reason he’s changed something in the last few games is because it is now about the short run, due to the fa cup final. And clearly, it is prep for that.

    Jose, the finished one, ruined Martial's career. It was all because he wanted to get one over on Pep, and the only stupidly trivial way he could think of was pinching Sanchez off City. Martial was our best player at the time, and he was junked for a ludicrously expensive and over-the-hill player. How did that work out?

    Bruno is our only World Class Player. Diallo is proving himself and making a claim that he is the left footed right winger we have been looking for. Kobbie again showed his clas. Hojlund reminded us that he's here and he's going to score if he's passed to enough. So long as ETH can read that game, he should have some good options going forward. Even Amrabat looked like an improvement in midfield, he's a little bit reckless but he gives everything to defend and he supports the midfield well. Dudes got a red card in him though.

    Are we really going to praise ETH for playing an extra DM in a DM position. That would have been great 2-3-4 months ago. Bruno had more progressive passes because we played another holding midfielder. Bruno is a legend of this club we will be blessed if he signs another contract anyone who thinks we should sell him needs to have a chat with themselves. We tried to put a square peg in a round hole for months. Imagine if Amrabat had a proper CB behind him, he could be more deep lying playmaker than back 4 anchor.
