Seeing the great supermodel Iman playing Queen Nefertiti gives me absolute life. I thought she looked like the famous bust even before this video came out. John Singleton, director of sister Janet’s film, Poetic Justice directed this masterpiece.

Michael didn't call them music videos, but rather short films. That's how he conceived his videos. Several have much longer versions like Bad, Smooth Criminal, etc. There's a 16 minute version, a 45 minute version... what was played on MTV were usually the short ones that were just the music. Many also have an additional beginning and end.

  • @grimmettcleaningservices7003

I remember when this came out, I was eleven or twelve, maybe thirteen. The video was a worldwide premiere, on a Sunday night at like 8:15 or something LOL everybody was on that TV at 8:15

The queen, Iman, was married to singer David Bowie. She was a major supermodel in the mid 70s/early 80s. She’s also an entrepreneur with her own clothing line that she sells on one of the home shopping channels. She also has a cosmetics line.

This music video was an all black cast directed by a black director named John Singleton and this video was first premiered in February 1992 for Black History Month. Even though Mic skin disease call Vitiligo was getting the best of him, he still showed everybody that he was not losing connection to who he is and where he comes from. Excellent reaction S. Nation!

A very timely reaction 🤴🏾👸🏾🪄! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to Michael Jackson before: Ed Sullivan Show Jackson 5 medley (Stand!, Who's Loving You & I Want You Back), Show You The Way To Go, Billie Jean, You Rock My World, Man In The Mirror, Smooth Criminal- Live, Dangerous- Live, Micheal Jackson w/ James Brown at 2003 BET Awards Live and Scream w/ Janet Jackson. Remember The Time was the second single released from Michael Jackson's 1991 album: Dangerous. It was written by Teddy Riley, Michael Jackson and Bernard Belle. It was produced by Michael Jackson and Teddy Riley. The song reached #1 on the R&B chart and #3 on the Hot 100.
The music video was directed by John Singleton at the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot and choreographed by Fatima Robinson. It featured appearances by: Magic Johnson, Iman, Eddie Murphy and Tiny Lister Jr. The nine-minute video was promoted as a "short film". It premiered on ABC, NBC and Fox and BET on February 2, 1992. After the video premiered on MTV, the channel aired a "rockumentary" called "More Dangerous Than Ever" which included glimpses of the making of the video.
    Michael Jackson Info 📰:
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He passed away on June 25, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. He was a singer, songwriter, dancer, actor and philanthropist. His musical influences include: James Brown, Little Richard, Jackie Wilson, Diana Ross, Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr, Gene Kelly and David Ruffin. Dubbed the "King Of Pop", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. Over a four-decade career, his contributions to music, dance and fashion, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture. Michael Jackson influenced artists across many music genres; through stage and video performances, he popularized complicated dance moves such as the moonwalk, to which he gave the name, as well as the robot.
The eighth child of the Jackson family, Michael Jackson made his public debut in 1964 with his older brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon as a member of the Jackson 5 (later known as The Jacksons). Michael Jackson began his solo career in 1971 while at Motown Records. He became a solo star with his 1979 album: Off The Wall. His music videos, including those for "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" from his 1982 album Thriller, are credited with breaking racial barriers and transforming the medium into an artform and promotional tool. He helped propel the success of MTV and continued to innovate with videos for the albums Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), HIStory: Past, Present And Future, Book I (1995) and Invincible (2001). Thriller became the best-selling album of all time, while Bad was the first album to produce five US Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles.
On March 25, 1983, Michael Jackson reunited with his brothers for Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, an NBC television special. The show aired on May 16 to an estimated audience of 47 million, and featured The Jacksons and other Motown stars. Michael Jackson's solo performance of "Billie Jean" earned him his first Emmy Award nomination. Wearing a glove decorated with rhinestones, he debuted his moonwalk dance, which Jeffrey Daniel had taught him three years earlier, and it became his signature dance in his repertoire.
In 1984 at the 26th Annual Grammy Awards, Thriller won eight Grammy Awards, and Michael Jackson won an award for the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial storybook. Winning eight Grammys in one ceremony is a record he holds with the band Santana. The Grammy Awards Show success transformed Michael Jackson into a dominant force in global pop culture.
On January 27, 1984 Michael and other members of The Jacksons filmed a Pepsi commercial at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. During a simulated concert before a full house of fans, pyrotechnics accidentally set Michael Jackson's hair on fire, causing second-degree burns to his scalp. He underwent treatment to hide the scars and Pepsi settled out of court. Michael Jackson donated the $1.5 million settlement to the Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, California. Michael Jackson signed a second agreement with Pepsi in the late 1980s for $10 million. The second campaign covered 20 countries and provided financial support for his Bad album and 1987-88 world tour.
The Victory Tour of 1984 headlined The Jacksons and showcased Michael Jackson's new solo material to more than two million Americans. It was the last tour he did with his brothers. Following controversy over the concert's ticket sales, he donated his share of the proceeds, an estimated $3 to 5 million, to charity. During the last concert of the Victory Tour at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, he announced his split from The Jacksons during "Shake Your Body".
MJ's charitable work continued with the release of "We Are The World" (1985), co-written with Lionel Richie, which raised money for the poor in the US and Africa. It earned $63 million (equivalent to $158,728,032 in 2021), and became one of the best-selling singles of all time, with 20 million copies sold. It won four Grammy Awards in 1985, including Song of the Year for MJ and Lionel Richie as its writers. The project's creators received two special American Music Awards honors: one for the creation of the song and another for the USA for Africa idea.
In 1984 Robert Holmes à Court announced he was selling the Sony ATV Music Publishing catalog comprising the publishing rights to nearly 4,000 songs, including most of the Beatles' material. MJ's purchase of the Sony ATV Music catalog was finalized on August 10, 1985. This would lead to a strain in his relationship with Paul McCartney.
MJ's world tours: Bad (1987-1989), Dangerous World Tour (1992-1993), HIStory World Tour (1996-1997) MJ & Friends (1999) as a solo artist were some of the biggest and best of any artist in music history.
In 2009, while he was preparing for a series of comeback concerts: This Is It, Michael Jackson died from an overdose of propofol administered by his personal physician, Conrad Murray, who was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter. His death triggered reactions around the world, creating unprecedented surges of Internet traffic and a spike in sales of his music. On July 7, 2009 a televised memorial service for Michael Jackson at the Staples Center in Los Angeles was viewed by an estimated 2.5 billion people globally. On September 3, 2009 the body of Michael Jackson was entombed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
Michael Jackson is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated sales of over 400 million records worldwide. He has won hundreds of awards, making him one of the most-awarded artists in popular music. His awards include 39 Guinness World Records, including the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time, as well as the Grammy Legend Award and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and 26 American Music Awards, including the Artist of the Century and Artist of the 1980s. He also received the World Music Awards' Best-Selling Pop Male Artist of the Millennium and the Bambi Pop Artist of the Millennium Award. Michael Jackson was inducted onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1980 as a member of The Jacksons, and in 1984 as a solo artist. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Vocal Group Hall of Fame as a member of the Jackson 5 in 1997 and 1999, respectively, and again as a solo artist in 2001. In 2002, he was added to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2010, he was the first recording artist to be inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame, and in 2014, he was posthumously inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame. In 2021, he was among the inaugural inductees into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame.
