Q: Do you plan before, during, or after the week?
A: It varies from video to video, but typically I plan 2-3 times during the week and stitch the clips together. I rarely plan the entire week in advance or the entire week retroactively.
Q: Do you use all of these planners?
A: Yes and no. Every week, there is something in my life that takes priority over the others whether it be school, work, or something personal. Depending on the week, I select a few planners that will help me achieve my tasks! So not every planner is used every week.
Q: How do you get so much done in a day?
A: If you watch any of my journaling vlogs, you’ll realize that I have very poor sleeping habits and so naturally I’m able to fit more things into the day. It’s something I’m trying to fix but admittedly this is the only reason. - Jak na to + styl

I tried a “Plan like Helen” this week in my cousin and I’m really liking how you do your dailies! I think I’m going to keep doing that for now. Unfortunately I couldn’t keep up with the weekly format. I love how yours turn out but I find it such a struggle to fill it out past Thursday. I’m always ready at the beginning of the week and then the rest is empty. 🤦♀️

Love the open boxes instead of the arrows, they have a sticky note feel to them! Go with the weeks mega! Good for meeting notes, Daily to do, Bujo , memory keeping. Etc.
I would love dedicated Minecraft or computer gaming stickers.

I recognized Tombow 761 right away! That’s my most used color, and it’s the only one I have multiple pens of the same color. I’m also excited for the 2023 English Hobonichis! I’m gonna get the English Cousin with a Colors cover (probably Soda Pop), an extra A5 cover for my plain notebooks which will be the gray ohayo, and then new for next year I’m going to start a 5 year, that one with the navy ohayo. Gonna be a big haul 😅

I was thinking about this question of whether the Weeks quotes will be the same as the Cousin, and I don't think they can be because the Cousin has one quote per day, whereas the Weeks only has one quote per week. So some of them might overlap but most of the quotes in the Cousin won't be in the Weeks. I'm super excited about the English Cousin because my Japanese is very minimal and I can't wait to be able to read the quotes!!!

So many things to do! Good luck 💕 I love that you kept that little mistake (honestly for me not even a mistake) but it shows the people that have anxiety of wanting the planner to look perfect and not even try. By the way love the teal pouch!!!!
That's neat that you're getting a Weeks next year 😁 this year was my time trying one and it's ended up working better for me than I expected! For 2023 I'm soooo torn between getting the lagoon teal coloured weeks or the fresh green! I love teal but this year I had yellow and so it'd be in rainbow order if I got green for next year so I kinda want to do that 😂🌈

I think I’m going to be getting the Hobo Cousin Avec for my main planning/ journaling and the A6 Day-Free for my purse/on the go scheduling. I have an A5 5-year and have been really enjoying it for the last year. I LOVE that teal pouch! One of my favorite colors.
So fun! That teal pouch 😍 Gorgeous color!! As far as my planner plan (hehe) for next year...I'm thinking the Cousin full year this time and then the weeks as my purse planner or maybe just use it the way I have been for the last 2 years-a sticker a day in the month pages and then the weekly section is where I jot down highlights for the week. The notes section I use for whatever hehe! Washi samples go there a lot, pen swatches etc. just random 🤗 And then I'm going to get the 5 year this year, not sure which size.

I know I want to continue with the Weeks, but I'm torn on getting a Jan start or waiting til my current April start (the tigers!) runs out. Will likely go with the bunnies or the cafe cover. Was thinking about getting a Cousin next year because I'm starting a job that has some real out-of-the-house appointments and I might want the time blocking/tracking space, but I first want to see if I can fit everything in the weeks + the A6 Avec that I already have.
Oh btw really glad you mentioned about the collab washi in this video because it seems my Instagram notifications are messed up...I haven't been getting notifications for new posts, even though they are turned on. (So if ever there's fewer people liking your posts than usual I bet that's why) I would have missed today's collab post if not for this video, so glad I didn't cause the collab is perfection!!! 😻👌

I'm going back to bullet journaling next year, I only bought Hobonichis these past 2 years because of the Rumiko Takahashi collab (2021 was Ranma 1/2 and this year was Inu Yasha). I like One Piece, but Luffy isn't my favorite character, and from what I've seen, there's nothing with Franky, Brook, or Robin on it. Plus the bujo life is way nicer to my brain.

The Hobonichi Global page on Instagram did a live in English the other day, and they stated the English quotes were similarly themed but not the same as the Japanese quotes because the translations weren't exact and some of the context was lost. I personally am getting a weeks in English to try but the Avec only comes in Japanese. The foreign text never bother me in prior years and sometimes its a nice surprise when I remember to do Google Translate on the quotes, lol. Love your videos as always -they are very soothing to my anxious mind.
How did your family end up in Japan? Do you visit? I’m taking students in June and I’m SO EXCITED!

Nice video Helen! From my understanding the English version of the new Hobonichi weeks is limited to only one cover style, and the others are still in Japanese.
This is unrelated but I love the color on your nails. I have been debating whether or not to try the Hobonichi Weeks. However, I normally prefer 12 month planners because I don’t necessarily want to have to buy a new planner when the previous one is finished. So I don’t know what I’ll decide.
I decided on Japanese, too (I don’t speak Japanese) because I now find the Japanese kind of comforting and I’m not ready to change to English 🤣
oooh!! I thin ki'll be getting the A5 Cousin in English (i think they're saying the quotes are english translations!) and the A6 OnePiece in Japanese - also to brush up on my highschool Japanese. We're hoping to honeymoon in Japan in 2023 so hopefully i can remind myself of some so i can navigate some stationary purchases and inquiries!

I am planning on using the Hobonichi Cousin, but am still deciding on the weeks. In regards to the pouch, I feel some of those items you should add to the shop and keep instead of having a sale every 6 weeks. I think it is less stressful on both ends to try and ‘beat’ others to it. Just an idea.
Sterling Ink just sent out her email with the new release of her planner. I think you might want to check it out because it looks like the hobonichi in a B6 size. So, I’m torn which one I’m going to get.

I got the cousin last year and was excited to use it but I was house sitting for months and I never used it really. I’m not sure what planner I want for next year. I like to budget so I am think about getting another budge only planner and maybe a hobonichi day free with the weekly supplement but I also want to retry the cousin because I do like the lay out and hopefully I will get more use out of it. However I realized that I didn’t like writing in things from my job in the planner so I’m rethinking how I will use it.

I'm so sad I missed your pouches. Adult life makes you choose what is important. Will you ever have products available for whenever a customer wants to purchase something? Say not during a release? I know the stickers are always available. I'm asking about the vinyls, pins, possibly pouches. My kids' events are literally in line with your releases. If no, I'll just have to wait. Stay blessed! The hobonichi cousin is going to be my daily planner just like this year. For my weeks, I plan to use it as an on the go planner! No pressure to fill it out completely for me!

This year I've used a Jibun Techo as my weekly and I've really liked it. I'm trying to decide between just getting a Hobo Cousin this year or getting a Jibun as well... or getting a Weeks and a Cousin? Or a Jibun and a day-free Cousin?? Decisions, decisions! I find I am now looking at all planners and deciding on them based on how the TCMC stickers will look in them... Oh dear!🤣

I am Chinese! Japan also does not give citizenship automatically to people born in Japan if they don't have Japanese parents.
