  • In this video we're returning to the music of Band-Maid. We really enjoy watching these girls perform. Their music is tremendous, and they really play well with the crowd. We can't wait to see another live performance by them. Enjoy!

If you liked "Onset", you'll love the "From Now On" music video. It's not a live performance, but it's one of the best 'shot in studio' videos Band-Maid has done.

We actually did that one and only remembered it was an instrumental also, after recording this one.

This instrumental song tells a lot about this band. Mostly, they have a catchy melody or chorus in their songs, which I think makes the listeners underestimate their abilities. A lot of the "non-musicians" reactors say that this band is poppy, but they don't notice what's really going on underneath Saiki's vocals.
Thax for sharing and I look forward to seeing you guys react to more instrumental songs!

This is the song that made me love this band. Misa the bass player tucks her pick so she can slap.

This is one of the finest instrumentals I have ever heard, and I go back to Don Wilson and The Ventures with Walk, Don't Run. It is an extremely technical composition from the genius mind of Kanami Tono a/k/a Mincho. It's even better in person and I was lucky enough to see them twice on last year's US Tour. They are on tour here right now and will be back in August for another US run, so if you can, get tickets if they will be close to where you are. It's something you will never forget. A lot of people look at instrumentals and think it's just musicians jamming, but it isn't. The instruments are the singers. And if you liked this, you will LOVE From Now On, another instrumental that is very different and very similar to Onset. It's only a official music video right now, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth watching. It was played live at one of performances I went to and it was just mind-blowing. The good thing about the music video is that you can see the pick and finger work a lot better than Onset's live video. And Akane's drum work is phenomenal......as usual. Without Holding Back is another amazing instrumental.

They did have that section where they went from 4/4 time to 5/4 time then back to 4/4 time. And this was the song that cemented my fandom for the Ladies. The first song of their I head was Freedom Live, that was a slap in the face and got my attention. Onset was the second song by them and I became their devoted fan.
In Freedom there was the fun they had while performing, the good instrumentation and vocals, reminding me of songs from the 80's when I was in high school, then Onset played. And it reminded me of the songs I listened from the 60's and 70's when I was growing up. All these Ladies need is a horn section to fit in with all of those prog bands from the mid 1970's. And each and every song they write incorporates more and more of the genres from my youth. And I love it more and more.

Judging by Cynthia's body language and facial expression she absolutely hated this....haha. Seriously she was really jamming to this song. But, who wouldn't? One of, if not, their best instrumental. I keep flip flopping between "Onset" and "From Now On". Both are great instrumentals. Great reaction and keep it coming 👏👏

Band-Maid always brings an ONSET of love, appreciation and happiness to their viewers. Why? Because they're so damn good -- good-natured, good-hearted, good-looking, and beyond good as writers, players and performers. Wow, right?! Thx, Hani-Fam!

As a Jimi fan, I can only agree with the comments of someone wearing a t-shirt of his likeness. Yes, Band Maid is a fantastic rock band. Onset sentimentally is my favorite instrumental. Cynthya's big smile says it all.😁Thank you both.

Thanks for checking out Band-Maid again. Nine songs so far, I think?
One of the many things fans love about them is that they create so many uniquely creative songs, all different from one another, yet retain their signature sound and feel.
At this point, you may be ready to hear “About Us.”
The Maids’ dream gig at Budokan had been canceled due to the pandemic. They turned inward and wrote “About Us” as a love letter to their fans.
If you’re fans, please consider it. Thanks for your sincere reactions

Band Maid Instrumentals? Try: "Without Holding Back", "Don't Be Long", "From Now On", or instrumental versions of songs like "Giovanni" or "I Still Seek Revenge". Those should hold you for awhile. There's more.

Akane (the drummer) has specifically said she doesn't really understand how a song should be played until they do it in front of an audience, just rhythmically as far as when to push the beat and when to drag it - which, because they play to a click track, are differences measured in microseconds.
It's apparently also one reason they like playing festivals, because they can see the whole audience beyond the first few rows and they pull energy from that - which they then give right back.

Hmm...you did a reaction to "From Now On" a bit over 5 months ago...I've actually viewed it several times. Since "memory" is apparently not a strong point with me, perhaps I should look such things up before making a comment...but what fun would that be?

It’s not a rock band, which it can be for you to perceive…For that, let’s take a look at it with another angle…This BM’s song is from another genuine ensemble with electronic string instruments and percussions. Then, you’d know, these girls are NUTS.

The Japanese metal scene is awesome but the rest of Japanese music is equally as good but doesn't get the same exposure. Can I suggest a solo recording artist called Haru Nemuri (Spring Sleep) . She writes and performs all her own music. Her music is more towards J-Pop but she has a rap style vocal over the top. I'm supposed to be seeing her live on Thursday but she's been having a hard time on tour. First her manager left and took the van so she had to hire a car for the tour. She then got earache and had to cancel a show. She played last night so fingers crossed she is all better by Thursday. Try her song Trust Nothing but love (there is an official video, but any song is a winner.

BM's studio recordings are all ruined by compression/limiting (Loudness War), among the worst of any releases I've ever heard, end of. On many songs, if you have level meters running they stay literally pinned at 0dB, it's almost unbelievable.
