My $70,000+ S2000 CR: Modification Breakdown

- I hope Michele doesn't see this title. I went into this deciding to build my long-term ultimate S2000. I originally bought a 30,000 mile 2006 and within a few weeks decided to buy a one of a kind 11,000 mile CR. Then I intended to put all the parts on it I dreamt of as an 18 year old Honda fan boy. So...it's done, now I have to decide if it's as good of a car as I remember it being.

Matt pulling the Forza full upgrade as soon as you buy the car move.
Rcmike1234 lol *auto upgrade A700*
Pro trick: watch series on Flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Boston Houston yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :)
@Boston Houston Yea, been using Flixzone for since december myself =)
@Boston Houston definitely, I've been using flixzone for since november myself :)
I bet you he's got more than a 100 grand under hood of that car.
Ventoux R best OG comment ever 😂😂😂
Too soon junior
Don’t race him Jesse. Can’t you see the paint correction!
Dont change your vids Matt, the length is good. Guys, he does ramble some, but is very descriptive and well spoken on all his vids. Keep up the great work Matt.
Makes a video going through every mod on his wife's bday- mans got his priorities damn straight
Thanks so much for the business and of course the mention Matt. I watch your videos and take some of your advice you gave me. Good luck with 2018 and continue the good work. I don't know if you even sleep ;)
Ha, ha... Thanks John!
Just bought one a couple weeks now and I've been staying up researching, planning and washing it.
@@racer668 same!
I like how you’re videos are unique and in details , keep the hard work
It's a beautiful car, and a very impressive build. Hope you are able to enjoy it for many years; it's certainly a keeper.
Thanks Matt, I was in doubt you'd release the info on your mods. Thanks for contributing to the community. The headache it must've taken to match something close to oem offset and look good while modifying as little to the fenders. Awesome
just started this video and the audio is spot on .. well mic'd and crisp sounding :) nice work matty !
Love seeing someone who knows what they're talking about go through their car. First time seeing this channel. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man!
I come back to this video weekly, this build made me fall in love with the S2000 best car build ive ever seen ever
I'll be putting my S2000 together soon. This video is very useful for what future mods I may or may not do to my car. Thank you.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and the detail that you go into. Keep up the fantastic videos, you're doing a phenominal job!
Thanks!
People upset about the cost, don’t understand that it’s Matt’s money to spend as he chooses.
Yep...
Maybe his money, and I applaud Matt for making this beautiful car. However, people are still correct to point out the opportunity cost being massive...
It's a passion and even then those who are upset can't afford it lol
The majority of people and even some car enthusiasts think the every penny we put into our cars is supposed to reflect the value. We all know mods don't add value so people find it hard to believe one would put so much money into a car. In reality, it's just money and we're actually here for the hobby of it.
If he can afford and take care of his family let him spend his own money however he wants. I'm sure he works but ass off to be able to afford this. Is it a loud of money to spend on a car? Hell yes! Would i spend that much on a car right now? Heck no i can't afford it. That doesn't mean he shouldn't. At least he's not spending it on drugs.
Great car matt. What I like about you is how your keeping the car clean and modifying it, really makes the car look like a true race car
Looking back at this appreciate the honesty about the car. Not often you'll get an owner saying they don't love a car. its almost like they paid for it and they HAVE to love it, so wont let on there's anything wrong with the car they own.
Glad I'm not the only one who's taken with these great cars... I've had mine for over 12 years and 180 000km! If I ever have to get rid of it you might as well bury me... Keep up the videos! Thanks!
As a fan of about two years I love going back and watching at the vids!
Ohh man I wanna see Matt Farah do a OneTake on this car!
Oh man, that would be so awesome!
Nodearb Skärsgard Matt would never let him😂
He let Adam drive the old GT3...
I think Matt is done with one takes
Matt Moreman is friends with Larry Kosilla who used to be roommates with Matt Farrah...
I appreciate how detailed this is I wish I could do something like this but if I ever can I will be sure to watch your vids.
Matt, the s2000 is officially dialed in! I can say from experience that it's hard to compare a car that's a decade old to something running off the mill today. I used to praise my b6 s4 but by today's standards its no faster than an A4. Even more of an eye-opener was driving my 997.1 S back to back with a 991.1 S. The switch to electrical steering felt so awkward at first. But now i'm in a 2016 C4S and I never looked back. Times change and things progress. I can definitely say that it has been worth it as a subscriber to watch the journey of the s2000 unfold. Thanks for the content.
Fricking awesome Matt. Enjoy every single minute, well deserved.
Thanks man.
Fantastic! Great information. California is keeping me grounded regarding engine mods. Must be nice to be in Florida and mod the car the way it should be.
jakskelington0745 California sucks bro
Great video , very nice breakdown . Keep the s2k videos coming !
Aww your kid popping up mid video was cute
Awesome build on an epic vehicle.... also very well done video, very informative.
The calmness in your voice kills me😂keep up the good work,i really enjoy your content!
I was the one who suggested adjusting your caster closer to stock to fix your twitchy and heaviness problems you were having with the steering. Glad I could help and glad to hear you're happier with the results!
Thanks for that. It made a huge difference.
Been awhile since ive watched but i love how theres this father son mix haha how your son just walks in and you dont edit it out love the semi raw films
Glad you figured out the RCA issue! Happy Holidays!
Thanks man.
Love the fact that you actually have thrown money at the right car! Keep it going. Cheers
This car is absolutely stunning.
I have the same headunit, purchased about 6 months ago and I finally have time to install it. What reference material did you use to help you along the install process? Main problem I have is figuring out where to place the amp since I won't be using a trunk subwoofer and my amp is considerably smaller than your's.
Awesome update and what an amazing car.
Love the dialed in hat 🎩 lol....but seriously clean s2000 , the black paint looks brand new and well kept ( I know why) but you have actually thought about a lot when doing this build and glad you did your research ...it took me a while when I was debating what suspension to put on my s2k
YOU MY FREIND HAVE MY DREAM S2000. YOU INSPIRE ME. I LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. I HOPE YOU STAY BLESSED !
Thanks man. Uploading a driving video right now.
Love the car, been wanting one of these since 08.
when u started being transparent i subbed, cant wait for the rest of the video :)
Transparency is kind of my thing. But with that comes pushback.
Awesome car! Love your video's. Thanks
The paint looks sick.
your kids adorable, hes lucky to have such a knowledgable dad!
Matt, would love to get a pure audio clips of the S2K and GT3 at various speeds. Would you do this?
"know enough to be dangerous" best quote of youtube! EVER!!!
My jaw dropped. Can;t believe i heard that.
Love watching your vids when I can’t sleep, they put me right to sleep after the first couple of minutes ZZZzzz...
Hey Matt, think you could fit 265s? On a 9.5 inch rim they should be perfectly squared off.
It would be close with the fenders. The issue would be the stagger. 255F/265R might not work so well.
Matt I’ve just bought an 08 and would like to upgrade the Stereo. Any thoughts on a current replacement without CD? I won’t go all OG on the Stereo as I have a ton of hearing loss.
An amplifier would be key to improving the sound. New door speakers/tweeter a basic Alpine headunit and amp would make a big difference.
You got one bad-ass S2000 !
I’ve never seen a cleaner car like this in my life not even brand new from the factory is as clean as this omg
We can all agree, Matt gets the best angle when it comes to obtaining footage for his videos.
I don't know your plans for this car but I really hope you keep it. I love seeing it on the channel since the gt350 is gone now.
Wow, it looks amazing! Btw, would you tint the whole windshield or just the visor? Tinting a windshield sounds sketchy.
Never visor, always the entire windshield
What do you think of the milwaukee leafblower?
I'm thinking of getting one to dry my truck.
The EGO is a much better option.
I’ve yet to make it through a whole video
Hasnt masochist huh? kinky. totes not judging...
Some can not handle all the technical points. Don't hate.
Hasnt Same, pretty boring after 5 minutes
Welp...maybe I should shorten them. But...then again, I've been hearing that same thing for the past 3 years.
I don't think the length of the videos is the problem.. You sound like you're constantly tired.. so low energy, so much rambling, so much unnecessary speech.. just get to the point.. Lol.
when will you do a drive video for this build
you can buy a copier for the tpms, aslong as you have the originals, which will encode the new ones with the same code
If you sell enough buckets, you too can trick out your S2000! Congrats on the build, looks and runs great.
Great video Matt.
You love it when you hit the mountains!
S2k owner checking in here. The car looks amazing, Matt.
Thanks Dustin.
the engine bay is cleaner than a new car......OBSESSED!
Your car is the ideal build to me lol. 70k... i need to save up more.
Just wondering how much are those ce28n and do you know what other wheel they have that can fit bbk but not sticking out the fender. I want to run 255 square on mine too. I dont want to get the wheels and later realize bbk cant fit in them. I really like how the wheel, ride height look. they look really good and go well with the body line
The wheels were $3,100, Center Caps $250, Lugs $300. The new Titan wheels looks interesting.
Matt, I have and 04 s2k, that I recently totaled. I am looking to replace it with a CR. Since this is your third 4th S2k, you are the man to ask. Do you think coming from a stock Ap2, I would find a stock CR too harsh? I intend to drive it regularly if not daily and I don't do track days at all?
I don't think so. The stock CR ride height and damper settings are not where near as aggressive as my current set-up, and it's fine to drive around all the time.
Thanks. I appreciate it!
i have watched a few SCed S2000 build videos on LHT, many people are running Cusco strut tower bar and they have clearance
I love listening to your videos while I am working on my car lol
Ha, ha... That's a good way to do it.
Can you let me know how invasive the VSA is with the supercharger? Say coming out of a 2nd gear turn.
The light flashes, but it does very little to kill power. I usually leave it on, but I'm not sure it's going to save me.
Obsessed Garage Thanks! I've been thinking about getting an ap2 and wondered if 06+ is worth it over 04-05 because of vsa. As far as I know there is no fix for the srs light when using an aftermarket seat in the passenger side on the 06+. Which has me thinking of going 04-05 unless vsa is really worth it.
I finally got to cleaning my engine bay and my co worker was like, why are you cleaning it? I said b/c its dirty. He says, who else is going to see it? Me: just me
would you say installing the roll center adjusters is necessary? thanks!
Yes. It’s one of the steps I always skipped in the past, but it makes a big difference in maintaining proper geometry when your car is lowered.
How bad is your hardtop rattle? Mine is horrible from factory and the adjustment is a pain to do. I’ve been in some that are perfect from factory. I know they make shims also just hasn’t been at the top of the list yet lol.
Mine is pretty annoyingly squeaky. It will be next week's project.
08 was the first year of TPMS sensors and theyre very sophisticated. One of your tires is likely a few lbs different from the rest. I have an 08 and live in Vegas.
You sir have good taste in car modifications
How much of a must are the RCA's?
wow awesome build man. But what stands out to me even more is your personality, seem like a cool car guy who doesn't even look like a typical "Honda fan boy" compared to the majority these days. It's a good thing. and for you to include your Son in a small segment in your vid shows your authenticity. Great car and great character.
I'm an old school Honda fan boy. What happens to all of us is that we grow up. Life has humbled me over and over again. Thanks for watching brother!
Hey Matt dont be too "dangerous" lolol. Props to you sir, well done!
That's one clean and simple s2k
Thanks man.
What i want to know is where you got you tool shelves and boxes from
www.obsessedgaragestore.com/collections/garage-cabinets
Holy hell that's a lot of money... I love it!
Great vid. I’m sure many of us have spent this much on our projects but spread it out over years so the hurt isn’t quite as noticeable. Now to enjoy the car! Don’t sell it!
Well said. That's normally the way I do it. It takes years. In fact, it's a lot more fun to take your time. That's the lesson I learned.
the Volks look sick. Im running satin black TE37s on my e46 m3 also black on black
No more AMMO sticker? I really enjoyed the interview you did of Larry from AMMO NYC. Great work man!
Sticker always end getting removed for me. I almost took the OG sticker off too.
Don't they offer a hood strut option to get rid of the prop rod. Just as in my GT350R it should have been OEM as the weight of hood struts vs prop rod is about the same.
They do. It's on my list.
Great choice on the ohlins
Now that is a well built car.
Thanks man.
I live in an apartment complex. I have a garage, but I want to be noise conscious. Is there a sub $200 electric pressure washer that you can recommend that will provide decent foam and not too loud? Off topic I know, but thank you in advance. Love the videos. Helping a lot now that I don’t have to rush/risk a two bucket wash at the coin car wash.
Devon - have a quick look : czcams.com/video/HuESnlnQz8I/video.html
Matt I'm surprised you didn't make an enclosed garage with lift, air tools etc instead of just the wash bay.
That thing is amazing. Could be a movie car
Yeah, I'm thinking about selling it. It is very nice, but the RS jades me so much.
Stop-Tec breaks have been good to me but I've never driven them after being resurfaced, ultra high ceramic pads keep em flat for as long as I've ever used them.
Next upgrade? Some nice clean hood shock/dampener. In black of course
Does the spare tire cover rattle with the sub underneath?
No, it doesn't.
I dont really know why but just by scrolling through the comments I get the feeling that the channel attracted a lot of dumb kids and people who dont understand what this is all about in the last months or so. Keep up the great content for the OG obsessed garage peops and lets hope that some of your new subscriber find the way back to the kindergarten.
It won't slow me down. Sharing the real process of putting all these parts on a car, what it costs, and the pros and cons is what all of us that have actually done it to some scale can all relate. I'm actually surprise the comments haven't been worse.
You took the words right out of me man.
Petrol Head it's because he has a lot of Adam LZ fans
yeah it's some moron who dumped a ton of cash into that rice bucket instead of buying a real car. A corvette would drive circles around that.
Mike S, corvettes are great because they're a dime a dozen, I still love them but I see four every time I go outside, can't say the same about s2k's. And who are you to tell someone what to do with their money? What do you drive? I'm sick of trolls, they ruin the car community, that "real car" comment clearly shows you don't care. Plus a real car, he owns a gt3rs!
Amazing Video.
Awesome. No replica parts here.
A subtle and tasteful build.
It would be cool if you ended all your videos/wash videos with a startup from behind the car, I bet even the raptor sounds mean.
Looks good!!
Thing is insanely clean! 😍😍😍. I need your job to afford these mods! Lol. I'm going Kraftwerks Supercharged in a year or 2. I'm about to hit 13k miles on my 15 Si and want to wait a little to boost her.
I'd recommend dropping the word "job." I don't have a job or career. I have businesses that I own.
Obsessed Garage well I need one of those! Lol.
Sickest S2000 out there. I'd probably spend another 20 grand on carbon bodywork, lol
Wow $40k! I didn’t realize they cost that much. I’m not much of a Honda guy, but the S2000’s are pretty cool.
azurebluemach low mileage CR's do. They're an exception. The cleanest, lowest mileage standard s2000's are around 25-30
Honda TPMS “direct” sensors require programming and calibration if the car is driven with the Low Tire Pressure light on for an extended period of time. Dealer programming will cost $75-$99 depending on their hourly labor rate, they charge .6 hours of labor for programming and calibration with a handheld tool and the Honda specific computer plugged into OBD2.
Yeah, that's what I thought. I'll make an appointment soon. Thanks for the info.
U have the chillest voice ever.
Awesome car so clean.
damn it looks so clean like it just came out of the factory, i wouldnt even think 30K+ went into this just from looks alone :)
Sleeper style
Thanks man!
First time viewer here: I think this is a great, descriptive video. I can't stand it when someone else showcases their car WITHOUT talking about any of their reasons for particular parts...
BTW, your boy outta grow up on the tracks....he should turn into a fast driver.
