- In today's video, we're going to begin and discuss the quest line and story tied to the thieves build in the elder scrolls 4 oblivion. We begin by being notified about their secret meetings at the garden of Dareloth in the imperial city waterfront. From here, we embark on a race to see who can steal Amantius Allectus' Dairy from his home. Should we succeed, we're invited to join the faction. From here, we must do some independent thievery and fence off stolen goods to Ongar in Bruma. Once we've sold enough items, we're given the task of retrieving taxes and documents from the imperial city watch and Heironymus Lex. After this, we're tasked with stealing the bust of the late countess of Cheydinhal, Llathasa Indarys. Returning with it, we learn that Arman Christophe has been set up and that Myvryna Arano is an informant. We frame her and get promoted from within the guild. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!

Guard: Have you seen Armand Christophe?
Armand Christophe: Hiding right in front of or inside the warehouse.
😂 yeah they definitely didn’t do their jobs very well
Wake up babe, new Bard’s Ballad video just dropped
Annnnddddd I hope it’s a good one 😉
I'm here
Thieves Guild in Oblivion: Secret underground organization most people don't believe it actually exists.
Thieves Guild in Morrowind: "Lets put the THIEVES GUILD sign right here"
😂 yeah definitely 2 very different vibes from each province
Brynolf: “Hey Dragonborn, wanna be a criminal?”
@@sojournertaylor6897 "I know you fucked up the one job I gave you, but you want in anyways? I think you've got the right stuff."
@@jacksmythe2187The early Thieves guild in Skyrim can be absolutely hilarious if you keep failing yet for some reason still get more and more increasingly taxing quests. In Morrowind that wouldn't fly with them. It's a massive downside of having factions follow a linear path for a meager story. Something Morrowind didn't.
@@spartanq7781 Even if you kill your sole source of information, it turns out Gulum-Ei likes to carry around a written confession with exact details of his secret activities on it at all times. It would be so funny if the questline ended there if you killed him before getting the intel
Man, the Thieves' Guild is probably my favorite questline in Oblivion (closely followed by the Dark Brotherhood, the Shivering Isles, and the Mages' Guild, in that order). Stealthy, thief-type characters are my favorite playstyle in Elder Scrolls games, so naturally it's a perfect fit. I especially like the how they have Robin Hood vibes in Oblivion, the whole "stealing from the rich and giving to the poor" angle. And their "no killing" rule makes them even more likeable, IMO.
Really excited for this series :D
I totally agree! I’m really excited to get to play through this quest line, and I definitely think they’re up there with TDB for me!
Since we’re on the topic of thievery, a great video to do would be on the pirate-related quests and features in Oblivion. There’s a surprising amount of them, like An Unexpected Voyage, the Forlorn Watchman and Dunbarrow Cove.
They’re brief but have some very fun stories
Cheers! All great questlines! I did cover the first 2 already in various videos, but I’ve yet to cover the last! That could be an interesting find!
25:30 holy cow, I’ve never noticed she did that! Good eye
Cheers! Yeah I thought that was such a cool detail they added in!
Thank you again for your dedication and entertainment.
I appreciate your support my friend!
Finally, the BEST Oblivion faction!
Haha! So far it’s been a very fun play through! I think I have to agree with you on that!
Absolutely loving your consistency!
Me too! It’s been nice to get to pump these out!
Thrashed - they beat the beggar because he had nothing to pay. He was empty handed, so he was thrashed.
Cheers! That makes a lot of sense, I was stumped by that for some reason lol
glad you covered the thieves guild my friend
Me too! :) had to save the best for almost last 😂
@ABardsBallad funny thing is they where my last questline to get all achievements
Youve blessed me this 4th of july
Haha! I hope you enjoy it my friend!
genuinely best oblivion analysis chanel i’ve found!
I can easily binge all this guy's videos. Keep up the good work bard, you showed me so much I didn't know about one of my childhood favorite games
😉memories. I was all about stealth playing Oblivion. That final challenge was soo much fun!!!! 👍 always enjoy your bard talents ☺️!
Always happy to see you upload great content to listen to
I’m thankful for your support my friend! :)
Great to see your progress in my favorite ES game, hope you get a discord soon!
Definitely having a great time so far! And that’s something I’ll have to look into soon for sure!
4:00 I love City-Swimmer ❤️
Good times when in one playthrough she stole a fork and got killed by the guards...
There really are no secrets with her lol
24:12. They thrashed him, like whipped him, for not having any money to pay his taxes
Cheers! For some reason I was blanking on what the game meant by thrashed but make sense!
@@ABardsBallad Happy to help
I usually do The Two Sides of Coin quest. Before, join the Theives Guild.
My goat I can't wait for this story
Me too! Super hyped to finally get to play through it!
24:11 Hillod was empty handed and so he got a thrashing.
That makes sense! Cheers!
All these playthroughs and never have noticed her eavesdropping before 😂😮
It was a really cool detail that they added in!
I just now notice that Armand Christoph has really asymetrical eyes
*HAVE YOU SEEN ARMOND CHRISTOPHE???*
😂 I wish there was some reply we could’ve given the guards that would’ve been so awesome lol
New bangerr 📢📢📢
Appreciate it! :) hope you enjoyed it!
Thief: This may be a bit too noble for a theif, but I wish to steal the taxes the poorest citezenry paid; that I may return it to them. I'm sorry Hillod empty-handed that the guards beat you for the 'crime' of being broke.
The Aedra: You are no longer worthy in our eyes. We only require a noble hero.
Me: ok????
god I haven't done these quests in so long
24:10
Hillod got thrashed. Meaning, he got the shit beaten out of him for having no money.
goodnight everybody
I never really liked that getting arrested is what gets you noticed by the guild. Even it was for murder. Something they frown upon. It really should be from well you know stealing successfully. It would make far more sense proving your skills to get noticed than for failure. Honestly I don't care for the Robin Hood approach of the guild either. Think about it we spend far more time helping the poor than actual theft. Also bring told to find the garden of zaloeth or whatever makes no sense. It doesn't exist until the end of the questline. So way to give that one away. I do like having to seek out the guild and having to complete a ludicrously easy test.
Yeah I hear you! I did find it interesting how the note details we can spend less time in jail for our petty thievery, meanwhile our character assaulted the towns folk lol
@@ABardsBallad In Skyrim you just walk by and you somehow impressed the guy. Even if you fail he still recruits you. Hell you can keep failing yet for whatever reason you keep getting recommended for more taxing jobs. Then the story forgets you're a theif and of course has an action climax because why have different factions do anything different from one another?
Thieves guild questline letsa goooooooo!
Hope you enjoy it!
What if you murder the other trialists though? Are they protected npcs before the quest? Can you just murder them before accepting the trial?
I'm curious what you have planned once you go through all the faction storylines
Me too 👀😂 but nah I do have some ideas in mind!
@@ABardsBallad I'm thinking of doing my own elder scrolls vids, you and Jacoby Wakeby have been a huge inspiration
