    You did great, and I loved Mikita when I was a kid back in the 80's and grew up with the long handled screwguns, but drifted to Milwaukee when Mikita wasn't innovating, but goddamn Mikita's game is on point these days!! And I think it's pretty rad for them to hook you up, and you did a GREAT job at the convention, great tools too, electric dust sucking jack-hammer, awesome!

I can't say enough how cool this video was and I can't thank you enough for teaching like you do. From bidding a job to what tools to use to how you have found or another person has found to make it easier. Positive attitudes like yours make it easier for guys like me to keep pushing through the struggles of this industry. Keep the videos coming and thanks alot. JT

    Stan - What's your opinion of the dust control technology? I'd be worried about long term reliability of that equipment because of what looks like a lot of plastic connections. I can see that breaking after the first week in the back of a trailer, much less on the job site in hard (read: careless) use.

    if you think a 4 stroke engine is going to delivery a high RPM power band you're in for a rude awakening

    • @eatshitful
      @eatshitful Před 4 lety +3

      You can make a 4 strokes power band just as high or higher then your average 2 stroke! It is a matter of the engineer doing it. Back in 1998 yamaha built a 400cc 4 stroke that rev limits at 12,000. Way more reliable then a comparable 2 stroke that only ran up to 9000 rpms! It can be done without a problem! The 2 stroke power peeked at 7500 rpms while the 4 stroke pulled right to the 12,000 rpms! I have ran this engine as much as i could at the rev limiter since 2002! Still never have touched that engine.

    • @Zack-dk3pt
      @Zack-dk3pt Před 3 lety +1

      rpms are not the issue as that can be solved with proper gearing. the main issue with 4 stroke is that they are heavier and require a bit more maintenance.

      Shona O'Neill some people work on jobs where people are hired to make sure you work safely. Some people make serious money performing work to a level that ensures safe completion. Some customers will pay greatly for said employees. Furthermore it is entirely reasonable to question why a rep of a company at a trade show is advising use of a product in direct opposition of manufacturers instructions. The legal ramifications of doing so is beyond your comprehension evidently at this juncture in your life.

    • @chevyon37s
      @chevyon37s Před 6 lety +3

      Greg Dumpert personally no. But for somebody who builds boat docks and where tools might get dropped under water, a submersion test for electronics is a lot harder to pass than just being splash resistant. Most of he conformal coatings that cover the speed control boards in these tools to protect them from basic dust and corrosion is enough to be splash proof.

    • @xenonram
      @xenonram Před 6 lety +2

      Drew w Being dropped in water and retrieved relatively quickly is no big deal. Having these told under a constant stream of water for 5 days is much more impressive. Conformal coatings for nothing more than to keep water of the circuit boards, it doesn't seal anything against water.

    I worked for a Stingray boats from 88 to 95. We used Makita cordless drill. They were awsome. Had 9 volt batteries. They took serious abuse. Had one that dropped in fiberglass resin. Took it out of the resin cleaned it with acetone. It was running 4 years later when I left the company.

    Great vid, WOC is an incredible place to walk through. BTW, roller screeds for concrete have been around for quite awhile, excellent tool. Best for sidewalks, work well on bigger slabs but pretty cumbersome, need a good crew. Smaller ones are driven by a small 2 or 4 cycle engine, bigger ones I've seen are hydraulically driven. A good crew who splits settng forms/pouring can lay out an awful lot of sidewalk in a day.

    That trimmer head is junk. I worked at a summer job repairing lawn equipment a couple years ago and a local golf course bought two of them. The whole head is packed with grease and within a day of use the grease had filled with dirt and burnt up. It took me 3 hours per head to take them apart and get them clean and regreased. They were back the next week for me to do it over again but this time one of the gears had stripped in both of them! I think the customer paid over $1000 each so completely not worth the money.

      We used these at the golf course I worked at, they are rotary blades, used them to maintain bunkers. They have been around a long time I would imagine at this point they are falling out of favor in light of oscillating tools doing the same job but better. I'll look up this company and see whats what, perhaps they are launching a consumer line.

    Don't get the 4 stroke motor been better than the 2 stroke motor in the petrol saw? 4 stroke has oil in a sump and a 2 stroke doesn't so turning a 2 stroke upside down wouldn't bother it but it would with a sumped engine as the oil will run to the top of the cylinder fouling the plug?

      still I see it being finicky and not working all the time.
