    My paternal grandmother showed me how to embroider. I've loved it ever since. I only know the basic stitches, using satin stitch to fill. It never occurred to me to use back stitch to fill areas. I loved the final look. I'm going to be using it for sure. Thanks!

    WONDERFUL TUTORIAL. Thank you. I was looking for a fill-in stitch for eyes, nose, and mouth, for a wool applique pumpkin I am working on and though I first thought I would just do a satin stitch for all four, after seeing this video I might mix it up and use three different stitches. It might sound crazy, but that seed stitch is calling to me for the eyes!!

    great video! as someone who just started embroidery this is really helpful. im wondering how many strands of threads is recommended for satin stitch and long & short stitch?

    • @oyechulo
      @oyechulo  Před 3 lety +4

      Thank you! I'm so glad you found it helpful! As far as strands go, it's entirely up to you how many you use. I prefer to use 2-3 for my embroideries but I know a bunch of people who use all 6.

    Really nice video. I tried using french knots as a fill but it did not work so well for me on the sampler. I think I did it too small, and your example looks very nice.

    how do you write the names of stitches :/

    • @oyechulo
      @oyechulo  Před 3 lety +3

      I just wrote the names with a water soluble marker and used a back stitch to embroider them
