Top Ten "Forgotten" Characters that Should be in Soulcalibur VI

- Time for some Soulcalibur VI talk! However, just talking about the characters I want back would be a lot of the series staples who’d I expect to return. As with my previous wishlist videos for upcoming fighting games, I like to take a look at some of the lesser potential roster choices who may need a bit more love and don’t have as much of a chance as other series mainstays. So for this video, I’m looking at Soulcalibur characters I’d like to see playable again (even it’s just DLC) that we don’t hear from much, whether they’ve been playable, bonus characters, or just a part of the lore.

Zwei is actually a werewolf, which apparently aren't 'wolf-men' like in our mythology. Meaning he could be immortal for all we know. Which is why I'd like to see him return.

They should make a link between him and Unknown (Jun) of Tekken. They both have some kind of spirit wolf so they both are special. Yes, Zwei could be old enough to be in that game, I'd like to see him there, he's a good guy and very likeable.

Edge Master could be a Honorable mention, and if they get the voice actor of Shadow the Hedgehog for his role we can call him Edgiest Master

Sooner or later their gonna have Olcadan and Edge Master go at it. Since it did happened but apparently in both of their stories it was a draw. Now with a whole new plot they should have them feud and then team up since their both the same basically.

That's what I'm saying to. Kilik already bump into Olcadan in SC3, so the feud between them had to move forward when Edge Master was gone after the first SoulCalibur. Plus Shadow Master has no backstory but we all know it was Edge Master in SC3. So something is missing in their story. Edge had to turn into Shadow Master for some reason if he knew Olcadan was gonna be back around after SC2.

Definitely would like to see the twin katanas and axe lance get their own movesets in SCVI as well as the characters unique designs make a comeback.

I like to see Hwang and Yun Seong back. So I can kick Yun Seong's butt with Hwang just like in SC3.
The same goes with Li Long.
I also wouldn't mind seeing Seong Han-myeong (Seong Mi-na's father) again.

The samurai katana style was pretty broken and I loved it because I could solo some maps in the Chronicles mode. (That needs to come back somehow)
I was so sad when SCIV ditched them in favor of just letting you have the moveset of the rest of the cast. Yeah, some weapons were busted; which they could've/should've just fixed, but they basically just threw the baby out with the bath water! lol

Actually Li Long did get a different moveset in SC3. He uses double nunchuks.

Glad you liked it! And my mistake on Li Long. It's been awhile, so my memory failed me. Still, I think Maxi would be the main culprit on why Li Long wouldn't return if that was the case.
Well technically he only had a unique one in SCIIIAE.
@@LegionAdell Li Long always had a different moveset from Maxi. Even when Li Long only fought with one set of nunchaku, he used them differently from Maxi. Li Long's moves were more effective, and didn't leave you open like Maxi's continuous attacking assery. Trust me, and Li Long had double nunchaku in regular Soul Calibur 3. I got the game when it first came out, and still have it.
Why the hell a female version of Astaroth?
Honestly, Ashlotte was the only bonus character I could actually see being a legit Soul Calibur character that can be brought back multiple times.
The fans also joked around that she had telekinesis because she wasn't as big as Astaroth, so when she grabbed someone, her model wasn't actually touching them leading to some good jokes around the time, so if the Devs really wanted to give her a unique moveset they could very well play off that joke.
How can a robot be telekinetic though?
Her biography actually involves the Gods that created Astaroth, Ash was created to destroy him
You have pretty nice list! Pyrrha Omega was too Emo for my taste. I would've replaced Ashlotte with Rock because to me Rock is unappreciated as well because of Astaroth but it is what is.

I wouldn't get my hopes up on Viola because she's supposed to be Amy and Amy was like 6 years old during this time. The only way I see Viola making it in is if they retcon that plot-point and let Viola be her own character with no ties to Amy. I also don't really see Yun-Seong coming back for this one as they may just go with Hwang but hey, anything is possible heh.
Just bring back those shop girls altogether lol Maybe they can bring the shop feature back and that's how you can purchase new unlockables like in SC3, that would be neat

Even though she played such a small role, Ashlotte is honestly my favourite character in the series, I love stories about sad robots out living their masters, and the wire-frame Bopeep look is really cool.

Try Seong Han-myeong (Seong Mi-na's father).
Out of all the fighters in the Soul series. He is the most forgotten since he only appeared in Soul Edge.

Didn't Kilik have feelings for her beyond a sister though. I recall that Kilik when first meeting Xianghua he noticed a significant resemblance to Xianglian.
And he later fathered two kids with Xianghua.

I kind of agree with the whole list. Although I hope we can get Viola and Pyrrha omega and maybe even Zwei at least as a dlc.
I do enjoy Viola and I bet everyone used her soul to Create a Character.
(PLUS I hope we'll see Tira and Voldo again. And someone who uses his/her fists or fist blades like DJ)

Some of these characters showcase here may have the same movesets as some characters but they had a unique personality to them.
But the aspect I really loved more about sc3 not only did it introduce the character customization it also introduced different movesets from the main cast. The other games pass this one took those movesets out I guess in effort of saving time and money.
They need to bring that back.

I really liked Angol Fear’s design. It could be really cool if they added some cosmic effects to it.
I would've liked to see Yun Seong come back. I was also a fan of the bonus character idea 3 had instead of guest characters. They don't have to put every character in the story mode. In short, barring guests, I wanna see them all come back someday. Just go crazy with a giant roster. However, I'd really like Greed, Yun Seong/Hwang, Abelia. Honestly, I don't need all the bonus characters, I just want their styles back. I miss Greed's kunai style.
I just want Necrid back, I know he technically belongs to Todd McFarlane, but come on, it's not like he's using him or anything. I don't care how they do it, they NEED to bring back somehow.
Necrid would be a cool one to bring back that Namco seems to just pretend never exists. I'm not sure if McFarlane is the reason or if Namco just doesn't want to bring him back for some reason. He was probably my second most used characters in Soulcalibur 2 after Taki.
At least bring his playstyle back I thought it was super unique and cool.

Only thing that bothered me about the list is Li-Longs entry. The arcade port gave him an entirely separate and unique moveset utilizing his dual nunchaku with rapid strikes (in comparison to Maxis more flowing style). He had stomps, rad extendable grabs, and some fierce strings. I miss him :(

You're right on that. I only played the PS2 version, so I never knew. Still, I think Namco wouldn't want to put two characters that were so similar on the roster, excluding character who have been in the main story in most games like the similar Cassandra and Sophitia, so I think Li Long would need some bigger weapon changes. I do like what they added in AE based on your description, though
MrTopTenList it’s a shame you didn’t play it, honestly. The character felt so fluid, so unique. I never played console so that Li-Long is the only version I ever knew lol. But I agree, to some extent. Having the bladed additions would be sick
The SC3 custom character weapon styles really need to come back! We need weapons like the dual nunchaku, kick edge, magic staff, dagger & bombs, falchion, and kusarigama especially. A three-section staff or a tekko-kage user would be really awesome too as something new and different!

Very good and in-depth list! I would like to see Revenant again. The wave sword moveset in SC3 was pretty cool. In 6 he'd probably be a male version of Tira with origins about his human form and transform undead during a soul charge or critical edge.
Start a petition to get Gisele as DLC. I'd vote for that. The jacket and hat outfit looks great.

I think personally, I'd like to see someone from Ni-Oh or Samurai Warriors. After all, Sophitia appeared in Warriors Orochi 3, with I think all of her moves being directly-copied animations from SC4. It makes more sense than one may think, anyway, as the SC series does take place within the time of the Sengoku Period.
I just want Algol back in Soul Calibur 6 as a DLC Character like Tira
I recently played 4. Grew up playing 3 but skipped to 5. The first time I played story mode I used my custom character, and I eventually fought the elf girl. I was shocked because I couldn't remember her and it seemed odd for her to be a random goon with an epic stage of their own. Then I found out I had unlocked her as a character, well guess which character I used next. During the same stage on my second playthrough I encountered Angolo Fear, and I lost my shit at her out of place esthetic. I later went online and found all the bonus characters and soon unlocked them. And I have to say they each were far more interesting then most of what we got in 5. I would like for them to come back, and most of them would make sense to be around during soul calibur 1 era.
Personally, I miss Revenant, Charade, and Necrid.

Would Necrid from Soul Calibur II count as a "Forgotten" Character, seeing how he was only seen in Soul Calibur II, and was never seen, nor mentioned again?
Plus, according to what I've heard, Necrid was originally suppose to the model for Spawn. But due to them unable to receiving the rights for using Spawn before it was too late, (or was it that they were unable to figure out who he would play,) the creators of Soul Calibur II decided to change Spawn into the newcomer Necrid.

Eh... I'm not really sure about some of your choices but I'll explain.
10. It would be interesting but she's dead and she's the main reason why Kilik devoted himself to rid himself of the curse he had. And let's be real here, if she did stay alive, her and Kilik would've become more than bonded friends and thus, there would be no need for Xianghua.
9. I actually agree, it would be cool to see him. He was still alive as far as I know during the events of Soul Blade & Soul Calibur I and it would be interesting to see Taki go head to head with him. IF all else, if he still was appearing vaguley human, he could represent the Katana/Shuriken style from Soul Calibur 3's custom character movesets.
8. Agree again. From what little we've seen of him in SCIV's intro and Talim's ending, he seemed like he would be an interesting character. Unfortunately they don't explain just when the events between him and his father happened but they could easily rewrite this and have Arcturus be a young warrior similar aged to Siegfried in this game.
7. I wasn't really a big fan of a lot of the Chronicles of the Sword characters as all of them just felt bland and uninspired tropes to fill an anime trope. But I suppose if I were to choose which one of them I wouldn't mind seeing turned into a full-fledged character, he would be the best choice as he has a unique weapon base and a more engaging personality they could work off of.
6. Oooooh dear... I love Zwei, he's one of the only newcomers in Soul Calibur 5 I actually liked but his fighting style was done so sloppy and I really didn't like the E.I.N. concept but that's only because I prefer weapon styles that grounded more in tradition instead of anime fantasy. But eh...Perhaps Zwei would be interesting to see. Perhaps it can be him before he met Ein or something. But yeah, he's really a mixed bag for me because while I do adore him (he's my "husbando" lol), including him in SCVI that's supposed to be going back to the origins, it doesn't feel it'd be right. :/
5. Oh fudge... I REALLY didn't like most of "those" characters and they represented things I don't want to see in Soul Calibur. The only one who I thought was vaguely interesting was Ashlotte and that's only because her design was Steampunk influenced, she still didn't fit the atmosphere for my taste though. I suppose with Shura, if they gave her a less tacky, desperate looking design, I could get behind that idea lol
4. When it came to the veterans, I was more into Hwang than Li Long and while I think Maxi is a better character for the nunchaku style and had a more engaging sense of design/personality, I wouldn't mind seeing Li Long get another chance but yeah, definitely change his weapon to the weapon he had in his early concept art.
3. OH HELL NAW to that lol Okay but seriously, I'd rather pass on that. I honestly couldn't stand Pyrrha Omega and her annoying screaming. Sure she was fun to play but that voice, no thank you sir lol Plus, Pyrrha wasn't even born yet during the events of SCI. No instead, I'd rather just translate some of Pyrrha Omega's moves to Cassandra (since she was the more aggressive sword/shield fighter compared to Sophitia). That all said, I mean no offense. Everyone has a favorite character and if you like her, that's all good. Just sharing my own 2 cents because I'd prefer that they didn't completely muck up the original story.
2. She'd be great. She already has a pretty neat design though I can't help but feel her design (at least her hair) played a part in Hilde's updated appearance in SCV lol. Honestly Ezio is not coming back and I feel that what they can do for her is take a few of his moves (including the hidden blade) and adapt them for her moveset in the same way they took a few of Krato's moves from when he guest appeared in Broken Destiny and gave them to Aeon Lizardman's new moveset in SCV (namely the up flight).

No comment lol Like I said, I did like her design because of the steampunk, slightly Gothic aesthetic though that's because I'm bias but other than that, she really didn't leave that much of an impact on me enough to want to see her again. I'll just leave it at this, your idea on how to fit her in seems like it could work since Astaroth is a monster who needs to be dealt with. But uh yeah lol
Anyway, this isn't something I really think about all that much but if you were to ask me who I'd like to see, the answer is simple. BANGOO. FREAKING BANGOO! Come on Project Soul ,he's just asking to be a warrior at this point, especially when you see him in Rock's ending for SCI. Not sure how they could fit him but by golly I just want to see him finally make it in lol

Thanks! I had a feeling some of these choices were not the most popular, but it's at least fun to share my ideas. I'm sort of hoping Namco could pull some retcon magic to get some of the most unlikely choices in, or at least pull a NRS and include the characters in some sort of flashback or flashforward to explain how they "fit" in the story (like how the Joker was dead in Injustice 2's story, but still appeared on the roster and fit in the story as Harley Quinn's hallucination). Anyway, I like your analysis of the choices and Bangoo would be a fun addition! I thought about him for my video, which is why I put him in the intro, so that could be considered a secret honorable mention.
Haha no problem. I guess I'm just this way because Soul Calibur up to SC3 had an interesting story atmosphere that left some gaps that htis game is filling in (showing just how bad Kilik's inner demon was, Siegfried merged with Nightmare, etc) and I'd rather they don't veer off too much that is mucks the original story if you know what I mean lol
And yeah, he just really deserves a spot. He really should've been in SCV but that didn't happen lol So this game would be perfect for him.
Seong Han-myeong is the most lesser known character in the Soul series.
I say that because I've never heard of him until I saw Soul Edge/Soul Blade.
He's was a pretty cool secret fighter in Soul Edge. So why not bring him back?

I love looking at the lesser or longshot characters for fighting games since there's always some great lore and designs hidden away!
He is not a forgotten character but I would like to see Raphael even if I'm not sure in the timeline if he is already gone after Soul Edge. But it may be possible. He's the only popular character missing from my favorites now.
Honestly, even if I like Amy, Bangoo (who never got the place he should have) or Talim, they are all too young to be in that game, unless there is some kind of explanation, time travel or whatever. Even Tira is young but since she started to kill at a very young age and she is still older than the three others, she could be some kind of crazy ten years old little girl, which would make her very creepy.
Zwei's age is unknown and he could be malfested (so not aging) or special like Unknown of Tekken so he could be there.
I like Dampierre's group and I would like to see them playable in one game.
Setsuka never had much story to begin with since Mitsurugi didn't have much story either but I like her so...
Xianglian would be very cool indeed since Kilik seems to still be stuck with the Evil seed problem in that game.
Ashlotte or some other from the cult seems like a good idea.
Maybe some scharzwind members (like Salia) who could try to help Siegfried.

For other Namco Bandai characters there's Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria, Solaire of Astora from Dark Souls and Kosmos from Xenosaga, for non-Namco Bandai 3rd party characters there's Dante from Capcom's Devil May Cry, Akira Kurusu/Ren Amamiya from Atlus's Persona 5 and Noctis Lucis Caelum from Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV and finally for console exclusive guest characters there's Nariko from Heavenly Sword for PS4 version, Hisako from Killer Instinct for Xbox One version and Marth from Fire Emblem for Switch version.

Namco is wasting the opportunity to add a hunter from Bloodborne or a knight from Dark Souls.
Avatar characters do not freaking count, And it's predictable because why would you add
an Avatar with absolutely no characteristics besides customizing at all, I'm happy they
choose Geralt of Rivera from the Witcher series for SC6 as a guest character.
If you really want guest characters from other games you mention, you can either choose
one of the Bystanders or NPC's at least one of those I mentioned got real characteristics.
Also Bloodborne is a PlayStation exclusive.

I only bought the PS3 Version not only that I preferred Darth Vader, but yoda is completely broken

Pretty much just wanna see the return of characters from SC3 and 4... including a new revamped Li Long and Hwang and Cassandra and Sueng Mi-na. Just bring ‘em back. And I’ll be a happy lil’ yes boy.

ShizzThe69kinG Charisma, unique gameplay, badass, good personnality, good character design, good punchlines, powerful he is the only character that have imposed his free-will to the two legendary swords at the same time, interesting backstory he seems to have suffered a lot when he was king, and I would love to learn more about this time. He is more of a anti-villain I guess, taking bad decisions for reaching an noble goal. Sophitia's ending in SC4, show how actually Algol, is charismatic, and well-intentioned, not just a bloody dictator, he also respect his opponents, but hate to be mocked, he have a great proud. Kratos Malefor lol wasn’t expecting that much 😅 ...but I guess that would be logical on account to add someone back to a series especially if he wasn’t just a run of the mill add new character just because. So I respect that. He’s the one of the few that I couldn’t get into that much, but to each their own is entitled to enjoy and like who they prefer.

and also Kunimitsu didn't try to out shine anyone, she was in the manji clan because she was a skilled thief and was kicked out for stealing from them... Yoshimitsu's interactions after that were not motivated by what you think, but rather him just trying to be the boss man and make her pay for taking from his clan.
and the Yoshimistu, is a new guy, (there has been 4 different once in the story, and three in game)
In other words Yoshimitsu is the name of the original leader who has passed away, and its a title to be passed down to the one worthy of the name, also you have to kill the other guy to become the new leader, Yoshimitsu.
Additionally if the tacky plot you suggest was correct she still would't have any place to be meddling with his affairs because the Yoshimistu in SC is the second.... and the one in tekken is the 4th... meaning they wouldn't know each other.

I actually want a revamped version of Patroklos with a hybrid of his normal and Alpha fighting styles. He was a better character after later in his story and deserves a second chance.

This is why i like the Soul Caliburb series. So many interesting characters. So interesting that even with a lack luster story it's still intriguing. I haven't played any games from the series since the game cube version but it was still a memorable game, unless that was another game im thinking of.
I'd quite like to see Kamikirimusi come back--I thought she fit into the series really well. A few of those SCIV guest characters were very cool and might have seen more use if not for their borrowed movesets. I can think of some pretty wicked things you could do with that oni club of hers, parhaps a bit faster and more technical than Nightmare's giant sword.

Otherwise... I want all the bonus characters from SC4 back (Shura, Aslotte, Schezerade, the... Moon chick?, etc...). Also, since SC6 takes place long before SC5, I would at least like SC5's characters as alternate costumes for SC6 characters. Like Pyrhha (my baby) could be an alternate costume for Sophitia while Patrokalos could be an alternate for Cassandra if they ever include her.
I'm honestly tired of them reducing character pool every new installation. I'd rather them have a larger character pool... Even if they don't relate to the story. Like honestly, they don't need to. Several fighting games pull characters from different eras. This is a poor example but Naruto Ninja Storm has like every variation of every character as a playable toon. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle and Eye's of Heaven both use every major character from every part of the series instead of just relying on one part of the series to support a game. And honestly, the game is better for it. You get some really wacky interactions between characters that have never met eachother but are related like in Eye's of Heaven where Old Joseph meets Young Joseph and Old Joseph is just like... Was this me??? And Young Joseph is like, this geezer feels familiar. Hell, Eye's of Heaven has a story revolving around all the characters being pulled into different timelines and whatnot.
My point is, stop removing characters. Just leave them in and don't utilize them for story purposes, just fighting. I was mad when I lost my boi, Zasalamel is SC5 and I'm kinda tilted losing Pyhrra. At least offer old characters as alternates for main characters.

I love the concept of shura. I never got a chance to play her, but now that you mentioned her and the idea of raijin and fujin dual katana fighting style? Thats like my ideal character. I am a setsuka player so i like the traditional style aesthetic. So maybe like mix her existing outfit with like a kasumi or mai ninja outfit. That would be my perfect character.
From 3 I really like Valeria due to her massive tracts of land... but also I really like they kicking playstyle with her greaves. Also Lynette with her duel Tamberine style. Giving yourself boosts an stuff between combos was fun
