Hello Kayla! I'm normally a silent viewer, but as the month of May ended recently, I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH for the St. Jude fundraiser. My niece was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer when she was 6 years old. The cancer was found on her pancreas and eventually moved into her lungs. The tumor was the size of a football! Thankfully, she is in remission and has turned into a smart and amazing little girl. It is people like you that help provide for these children. Thank you so much not only for the financial help, but also just the recognition and the outpouring of support to the community.
So glad to hear that they're in remission!! Here's hoping it never comes back. ❤❤

I did this when I started playing so I didn’t have to worry too much about furnishing rooms or them being overly big or small!

I think the little curtains that came with this pack are designed to go half way up the windows (so they only cover the bottom half of the window). That's the classic french look
yes, finally somebody gets it. drives me crazy people putting them at the top, they don't do anything there lol
They're actually called café curtains, and before these last few packs I was pretty sure the team didn't realize they existed. I guess the name is maybe because they give folks sitting at a window table privacy? They do sometimes have a valance at the top if the window isn't shorter. They used to be used with the valance in kitchens a lot. I liked them because you could see over the top, but they did still give a lot of privacy. I even sewed some once for my farmhouse kitchen that had super tall windows.
@@LivinInSim they did have similar ones before, for example in cottage living or parenthood and even growing together I believe. most people just don't really know what to do with them and never use them but they're so good for a kitchen window for that extra bit of privacy!
extra privacy, plus its nice to be able to keep natural lighting in the room without blinding you while you sit! i work at a restaurant with only whole window blinds, so when people ask to bring them down it makes it feel so much more dull without the sunlight :’)
6:27 those are parking bollards. Use them to separate pedestrian spaces from vehicle roadways

bollards are one of those atmospheric decor items that, when used correctly, really makes a community lot blend in
I’d love to see simsie in her element doing a lot that’s literally just landscaped. A big beautiful garden with winding paths and a pond and things. Fireflies. Like just the most beautiful garden with bird baths and maybe a few benches but like all garden. Builds don’t always need to be “builds” and I feel like she would love doing it.
Yeah she could make like a park! A really pretty community lot with like, almost no buildings
@@AnUmbreonNamedRaire yesssss that’s like what I meant! It could be a park that’s like a wild garden and maybe just like a shed in the corner that the groundskeeper stores his tools in, or it could have a small community section with bees? Just a luscious wildflower garden. Would love to see it

I think the basic difference between a Lounge and a Nightclub in this game is the age of the sims that show up. Lounges seem to attract more Adults and Elders while Nightclubs tend to attract Young Adults.
funnily for me i tend to send my younger (teens +young adults) to nightclubs on dates and several times has an elder died there and ruined the dates especially bc i often i use dates to get a boyfriend/grifriend
How about a bar vs a lounge?

@@kiannielopez93 when im building, the main difference between a bar and a lounge is the price point for going there in my head LOL. lounge has fancier live music, whereas id expect a bar to have games and tvs. like, you could take a child sim to a bar and theyd have things to do there besides talk
I like the idea that this a lounge owned by a mafia boss. So like, the the room in the second floor is probably the kitchen to provide all the food and stuff, but theres a locked door that leads to a staircase to the third floor that is one of his meeting places. Like he can't live there, obviously, but he meets other mafia people there, and it looks totally normal when they enter this really nice lounge in a full tux or elegant gown.
I think the little bistro curtains usually are hung in the middle of the window and not on the top it that makes sense 😊

The bollards (3 black posts) are usually used to block roads from vehicles, but allow pedestrians and cyclists through. They are normally used in places that originally allowed cars, but have since been pedestrianised. There are also bollards that can retract into the ground (electronically) or be removed from their post holes (manually) for private roads or restricted access, but those debug ones look like the immovable type.

I feel like those 3 bar debug item are those things they use to kind of keep cars from trying to park or crash onto the lot/into the building maybe. Least that's what makes the most sense to me, cause if you leave out any free space in a city, I imagine it's free real estate for parking 😂
I wish in for rent or something that you could live in top of a shop and own the shop or somebody else owns it but you just live above.
ever since the for rent pack. i feel like its so close. but i just want to be able to have multi venue lots. likes apartments with restaureants in the bottom. or spas with vacation rentals. or restaurents and comunity centres etc

You should do a build challenge where it’s the same as you renovating the starter homes, but you HAVE to use everything they placed! (you can add more and change the colors if you want!) but you CANNOT delete anything! (make the house smaller and all, but no deleting items.) also you have to use the same wallpapers and floors as they use( again can be a different swatch)
I like putting a little busking flavored bit outside. A rug a backpack, a bowl of some kind (i only have the my first pet food bowl) and a guitar

Watching your video, I'm more and more convinced that the Sims team went to an actual French bistrot for inspiration. I live in France and a LOT of old school bistrot look like that. Even when you had less lighting in there, it looked so much like my village's bistrot ! It's very dark in there haha.
Games by Americans tend to be inspired by Paris only, but this is more general France vibes imo.
Only thing it's missing is the setup to bet on horses hahaha, but the PMU vibes are less romantic !
Make gallery seating upstairs, as in having a strip going around and the middle is open, like no flooring and you can look down and see the live music from up there sitting at the tables
I used the kit to update the Blue Velvet, just changing it around and adding in windows, tables, bar, a stage, the walls, etc using the dark blue swatch. I think it ended up okay. But it is frustrating that even with all the packs there is not a matching set of counters for the new bar. I also used it to build a little "café" on the side of my sim's house, using the Home Chef Hustle table inside, and it's probably the most fun "home business" I've ever built.
if you have medium or tall wall height, you can fit the sign above the door without clipping with windows upstairs.

There is a wooden wallpaper in bg that matches the new windows colors perfectly. You could have used that on the outside and used higher wallheight so the sign wouldn't clip into the window flowerboxes on the middle floor. Just an idea!
I think a great video idea would be you redecorating with all the packs. Ofc with your classic no touching outer walls as well as interior walls. I’d love to see it with some greenery on the wall outside but still have it be a lounge
i’m watching this video while picking the color palette for the project i’m working on right now. i keep zoning out while working and coming back to her saying “i’m kinda on the fence about that” or “yeah that’ll work better for that color over there” right at the exact time i was already thinking it, so thanks for your input on my project i think it came out super pretty lmao
the fact that you need other packs to build a functional bistro with this kit is kind of similar to the my first pet stuff pack!

One thing I really want, and that you reminded me of at 17:47, is things like the rental residentials, except instead of renting you can have a normal residential on the same lot as some commercial lots. For example, a large complex on a 64x64 lot that has a whole bunch of stores, with an apartment for the owners.

This build is giving cherry cordials and I love it
6:17 the poles are used for bike lanes to make sure cars don’t drive into them. They are used in pairs of 3, since that is the width of a bike lane. These are commonly used in the netherlands ❤

06:20 - Bollards. The item you are referring to here is called a bollard. It has a long history with ships, but in short they are used today to prevent accidents like cars driving into the front doors of places or damaging sign posts. They are placed in between where cars could theoretically accidently drive through and cause damage.
my favourite thing to do with empty upper floors on community lots is to make them look abandoned and in my gameplay transform them into a club hangout!
You should do the maximum capacity challenge next, basically you pick a lot (or even better you spin a wheel to get a random lot) and then you have to build 6 units with room for 8 sims each

The dividers are to be put between tables for privacy... So it feels more like a lounge and less like a bar or restaurant. Beautiful building tho, i love how ypu decorated it. Props for using do much red! I know you don't really love it

Your build looks like a restaurant we used to have in Birmingham uk. Its a chain and still available in other places but our Cafe rouge shut down, but the whole theme was french bistro and of course with the name everything was a dark red.

Those little pole things are meant to go in front of stores so that cars don't hit the building, they hit the poles instead
