This is !the kind of bag collectors dream of! DO NOT throw out the broken jewelry! It's a big seller!
A lot of crafters, especially etsy, will buy clip ons, single and broken pieces for pictures they create with jewelry. You could list them as supplies.
On large pieces people had added hoops to wear as necklace pieces.
@@pattiwhite9575 mompop
Yes, I buy broken or unwanted jewelry to make other pieces with...I buy off of Facebook Marketplace. You could probably sell or give away there...please don't throw away!
Exactly right , just weigh what you don't want and list it on ebay . I sold my dad's 1 each cuff links !
I'm sad that I'm just seeing your video now but glad that they can still be seen this long after you posted it. Anyway, I have a comment for you on the large brownish ring you showed which you said may be a costume piece. I hope you are getting pieces like that checked out and or appraised. That ring looks like Amber. The ring itself maybe .925 silver. People that aren't familiar with Amber may not know what it is. The majority comes from Russia. In essence, it's tree sap that petrifies and its more valuable if there are tiny bugs or tree/leaf particles in each piece. If you ever get some free time, look up The Amber Room. You can Google it. The entire Room was cut down, boxed and stolen by the Nazi's. It has never been recovered. You can see a replica of the room thats been restored. Its so beautiful!
Put those clip earrings on Etsy! There are a LOT of people out there that live and dress in authentic vintage 40’s and 50’s that will scoop that up! 😊❤️
I follow someone here on youtube who has videos....I can recall her name but she's so interesting
I’m a costumer and I love clip on earrings!! Great for quick changes and they are usually big enough to be seen easily on stage! Great for many time periods as well.
All of the broken bits and pieces could be bagged together and sold as an upcycle lot. A lot of crafters love to find bags of "jewelry junk".
I agree. Someone may want the pieces to work with.
Give the jewelry that you don’t want to a nursing home or a senior center for their crafts!
My Mom had a small tabletop Christmas tree she decorated with clip on earrings❤
That is a great idea!
I love it!
How creative!
That is pretty clever to be fair
oooooh. good idea!
Nursing homes used to like collect jewelry as BINGO prizes.
Yeah and I would play bingo when I visited my Mom and won and got to pick out a huge enamel Copper Renoir Brooch too! I was stoked!
@@adorejunk Love Renoir. I found the painters palette (very large) with matching earrings at a church sale. Talk about being stoked..
Hi, Renee...I buy vintage jewelry for several collectors, and I just wanted to say that that large ring you said was marked 925 (Sterling) looks like a Margo Taxco piece. Taxco pieces were made in Mexico and can be pretty valuable...you really did find some nice pieces! Check the markings before selling. 📜 & 🦌 ❣
Thank you for the name on that ring, it is appreciated!
@@PaperandMoose You are welcome! Stay safe! ✌
You can sell broken jewelery to jewelery makers they can make new things out of the broken
Yes I really hope you checked that out cause it's says that a taxco ring is marked T C followed by 2/3 numbers.
Clip-on earrings are great to put on a simple pair of shoes to dress them up and look unique. Just clip to the top section of pumps or flats.
Slave bracelet
Or sew on a clutch purse
Ellen De Lima or clip on a scarf.
Great idea! I'm going to try it!
I have a pink walker and lots of clip on jewelry that was passed on to me....I'm going to dress it up all pretty I think. I have an older one I use for everyday use and have been saving my pink one for special occasions. Now I can bling it up...thank you for the wonderful idea! 😀😆
Oh! My! Goodness!!! Please do not throw out the broken jewelry!! Sell them all together in a lot. Many jewelry makers and crafters would love to buy them!!😊
Chico’s is a ladies clothing store that has its origination in Sanibel Island, Florida.
We have Chico's stores in California, higher end clothing store.
@@joanwellington2082 And nice jewelry.
I’ve turned my grandma’s vintage clip ons into pierced! I love wearing them!
That's what I do but I do the opposite....I turned pierced one into clip on be careful of one of my ears hole got big
I've seen beautiful bridal bouquets made with costume jewelry. Also junk journalers use them. Great find!
Chico’s is a clothing store usually found in malls. The jewelry is usually chunky and quite expensive.
In some cities, they are in high end shopping districts as well.
Chico's was a store for old chicks, like me!!! 😄😄😄👍👍👍
Love Chicos
Patty Robley yes it’s an upper end brand for sure.
Check Chico's online.shop. Expensive costume jewelry.
The Ten Commandments bracelet probably dates back to the 1950’s. I remember them from my childhood.
The chunky stuff is definitely campy - that’s a word from the 70’s!
The smile on your face when you pulled out the small box was priceless.
The horn and elk brooch pin represents the HOLY ELK OF SAINT HUBERT. Saint Hubert is the patron saint of hunters.
Interesting Christine
What is this pin made from. Any marks?
It's also for Oktoberfest when I looked online: www.germansteins.com/oktoberfest-hunters-stag-german-hat-pin/
The ring looks like amethyst and sterling.
Blue Bus Dave will day, “What a score !” Crafters love odd pieces.
I have paid good money for bags just like that!
Based on the comments you did extremely well. That’s awesome.
It’s funny how a huge percentage inform you what 925 means and that Chico can bring decent $$$ 🤣
925, sterling same thing. The bracelet with the ring attached was called a slave bracelet. Yes, really.
Somehow, I remember the rings being longer, though.
So sad that was a slave item.
Not the same thing. Same scrap price but different in its composition sterling can only have copper as it's remaining 7.5% any other metal makes it just 925 (92.5%) pure silver
@@wendyaminzadeh2165 it's just the name of the style of bracelet. It's not what was worn by actual slaves.
A lot of these are late 60's
925 indicates sterling silver (code for s.s.), all you have shown is what I use for tassles, focal points, decoration and closures on junk journals. Great haul including clip ons. BTW Tiffany do make clipons for their clients. All of it can be metallic sprayed for steam-punk decoration. Chico is a costume jewellery maker brand (they have a web site). Love your channel.
The Chicos jewlery is pretty expensive for costume jewlery. A necklace usually ranges from $60-$150 if their vintage could be more 👏
The really large circle pin is actually a scarf clasps.
Yes. Thank you. Wanted to say that but I will give you a thumbs up for spotting and knowing first!
Don’t throw out broken stiff. Just throw it in small sandwich bags and sell for a few bucks at the flee market.
Mexico makes coral jewlery. Remember there is ocean on 2 sides of Mexico!
I have purchased jewelry like this in bulk on eBay. Crafters will use it in projects. It’s a good way to sell it without having to figure out the pricing on each piece and shipping it all over the country.
Carved Mother of Pearl Bethlehem pin is worth looking up on Ebay.
From the Holy Lands
I would sell the broken jewelry as a lot. As long as you indicate its broken.
925 is Sterling silver. That charm bracelet you found is Sterling as well and it is vintage.
No it's not it's got the same purity but sterling is a British standard for its silver and can only be mixed with copper. If its not marked sterling it isn't sterling just 92.5% pure silver.
The red flower pin is a "poppy" worn to honor Veterans.
Chico's is a clothing brand, it can be pricey. It does has some resale value
There is a Chico's store near me, they have clothing, shoes, jewelry, in there own labels, and some other things.
Don’t throw out Renee, crafters would love picking up pieces just like that, try selling them at you flea markets first, sadly I live so far from America so I can’t come to you for a rummage☹️
Yes, put a lot together of parts and whole pieces you don't want and sell it online.
And theatres!
Indeed!
I love watching you do this. U really enjoy and take such pride in doing this. You have an old soul. Really really like this . Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the kind comment! Glad that you enjoy the videos!
Great vintage haul. What they would call 80s retro or bohemian. People love that stuff and crafters love it too.
I love old jewelry , some of the ones people think are ugly I find the most beautiful.
I just saw a wedding bouquet that a bride made out of costume jewelry. It was gorgeous.
I have seen those before on Pinterest and I agree - beautiful and it will last forever!
I can’t believe these folks didn’t donate the jewlery. I’m so glad you save it!!
The very first box of clip on earrings they were great, real vintage pearly dangly clip ons love those. I'm so jealous
Donate/sell anything you don’t want, even loose and broken items. So many people repurpose into beautiful art.
Whoever owned the jewelry was COOL! I wonder why she threw it out. Hope she is still here wearing lots of super cool jewelry.
I bet the person has passed away and someone just threw all of her things away.
@@laurieweaver7001 I thought the same. Much of it not my style but other would love it so I wouldve donated
I did find a tiffany necklace at a garage sale for .75 cents I love it Gucci wallet for .50 cent and the list goes on and on!
Renee a lot of the fake pearl necklaces including the ones with the ribbon look like ones I used to wear in the 1980s. How fun ! I remember Chicos as a clothing store and they sold jewelry too. Thank you for sharing your find being locked in is making us crazy and we miss our junk stores being open.
I am crying every time you put something in the trash or on the floor....
Me too!!!!
You can easily repurpose those beads into something else.
Me too. Don't throw them away. Put them in an big old jar or vase ectr. and sell them as " Costume jewelry treasure jar". You will get some $$$$$ ♥
Do the same with broken parts and single clip ones. But mark them as "broken.
Right😕
Have those beads with the ribbons on them looked at by a jeweler.
Just two days ago (7/7/20) this lady's daughter was looking in her mom's old jewelry box at her dad's house (the mom left it there after their divorce) TMI,right🤭
But anyway, there were some pink beads,a bracelet and earrings 8n there. We thought it was just nice costume jewelry but it was 100% Real. Worth about $1500+
Her mom told the daughter get my jewelry box and bring it with you when you come back home.🤭👍
She had very nice pieces in there some belonged to her mom that had passed away.
All that jewelry will sell, even the mardi gras beads. Pick out the best ones to sell individually, lot the rest as wearable/broken crafter lot. They sell by the pound as lots. You can even sell lots of non-working watches as steampunk lots. Check out estate jewelry lots on eBay, I think you’ll be surprised at the prices they go for. Also make sure to check the earring backs, you may find silver or gold ones. Gold and silver sell well and Blue Bus Dave can probably point you to a buyer in the area. Thank you for sharing this Renee! I love jewelry and purses! 💍👜
Jewelry jars
So careless. She said she was looking for gold, there are other metals that are valuable.
Chicos it's a big brand here in California and some Chico's jewelry are made with real semy precious stone and pewter I have a pewter and amathista citrine and peridot necklaces from Chicos long time ago maybe 20 year ago and it's quite worthy! Check your turquoise or blue stone maybe it's real who knows!
If you find a tube top, turban and tiny cigars I think someone is my aunts doppelganger.
Romance with the Past that made me laugh out loud !
In the current April VOGUE, Marc Jacobs was photographed wearing a coat with clip-on earrings worn as pins/brooches. You are already ahead of the game! You can wear these clip-ons as pins/brooches. Especially if you have only found one. Or sell them and add in your listing that they can be worn as pins. If the person is afraid to lose a clip-on used as a pin, crafters can add new pin-backs. My sister re-purposes a lot of her costume jewelry. We can, and should, recycle/re-purpose many items.
What a fun find! Hours of fund just looking through it all. Don't throw any of it away. As other have noted, it can be sold. I actually use broken pieces of jewelry in my mixed media art. I find much at thrift stores and friends will also give me their "junk". It never looks the same after I get done with it! I even use the clock works from inside the watches so those can be gutted and the gears sold.
Those are Egyptian scarabs of wisdom on the bracelet ring. Could be from the 50s-60s. NICE.
Mama Fratelli! She kept pulling the beads out of Mouth's mouth! "oh my God!"
Great Job Rene!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say Hello to Taco Please!!!!!!!! Sterling is 925 or a Trademark, or Makers Mark!!!!!!!! Smile and make it fun for yourself and it will Tickle your viewers!!!!!!! Use your loop while on camera if not you kill the mood for your viewers to explorer the bag of goodies!!!!!!! We are excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!
I use the clip ons to decorate my flats when I wear an all black outfit. I love some of the pins ..what a cool find
Chico's is costly costume, boy o boy, this was so much fun
Those long beaded necklaces remind me of the ones shown from the "roaring '20's". Very popular.
Hi Renee. Oooooohhhhhhh I knew the second you started a “trash pile”’for that jewelry you were going to be in trouble. Hahahhahaha. There are a lot of crafters and junk journal makers who would looooove to have those broken items. Lol. I read the comments and “you got in trouble” LOL. Where you love paper I LOVE vintage jewelry. I actually get giddy like you do when you’re looking at paper😂😂😂. And that’s what makes this amazing world go around. One mans junk is another mans treasure. Keep the videos coming. I love them all. PS. I went to the junk journal you told us about- she’s German.... I don’t have her name in front of me but she is AWESOME!! She has a great eye and I love all of her journals. Thank you for sharing your friends. She spoke highly of you💕
Isn't she great! (Pirjo Blues) I love seeing what she finds and how she puts everything together. I still have to attempt to make a junk journal, I just hesitate if I would be "doing it wrong". And no worries on the jewelry, nothing has been tossed out! I learned my lesson in that video for sure haha.
Style is Macy’s and Chico’s is a women’s clothing, jewelry, shop
Flower pin looks like poppy the veterans it a big deal I loved the giraffe pin too great finds
The ring looks Mexican in design I would think 925 is sterling
I agree.
I agree.
925 is sterling
Nope 925 is silver that is 92.5% pure and mixed with any other metal. Sterling can only be mixed with copper or it isn't sterling even though the purity is the same. This is because it's the British standard for silver (why it's called pound sterling) and one pound in weight was worth one pound in currency when the standard was adopted.
I am so glad you saved that from the trash....clip earrings are used in art projects so I bet you can sell it....stay safe
Clip on earrings can be put on a chain or leather tie as a necklace. They can also be put as a brooch with a safety pin and the clip hangs from it. If you have broken chain necklaces and the beads are nice collect and sell as a collection. Jewellery crafters can remake them into other jewelry pieces. The small beads I have crafted into Christmas trees using styrofoam cones.
Don’t throw anything away make jars of “junk “ jewelry and sell them. Crafters are always looking for these items.
Now it seems you don’t know that 925 is sterling, Renee, please ask Blue Bus Dave for his opinion, he’s a real expert in jewelry!! I think you know him.
Good Morning Little Sprite😁 I watch you and Taco Stacks every morning. It's a great way to have my morning. 😁BUTTON BUTTON😁
Hope you have a great weekend Selenea!
Little girls would love those long beaded necklaces for dress-up play!!
Take all the jewelry and take it to BlueBusDave and trade it for paper items. Use your loupe to look over possible gold or silver and dont make mistakes in identifying such as you know who did at the flea market lol.
Right, so Dave can screw her over like he did Taco Stacks, I hope she's smarter than that
.925 means its sterling
It's a Mexico mark so can sometimes be nickel silver, needs to be tested.
Haha! 🤣
No.
925 Is the Sterling silver mark..
These rings have “925” stamped on them, meaning that they are not made of solid gold. 925 is a standard sign used to mark sterling silver, and the meaning of the stamp is that the silver content in the piece is 92.5% (i.e., the remaining 7.5% is comprised of other elements)
@@Miladyluvs No sterling is the standard stamp for sterling. It is a British standard it means that it is 92.5% silver and the rest copper. 925 means it is 92.5 % silver and the rest any other metal. It can only be sterling if it is copper. It is called sterling as a pond of it in weight was worth £1 (one pound sterling) in our currency.
I had several pieces marked 925, took to reputable jeweler, said they were not sterling but an alloy.
Those big earrings make shoe clips, brooches, pendants... taken apart they can be remade into anything! I loved some of that stuff. Unfortunately I remember some of it too, worse still, I have some.... I think you have a Drag Queen haul🤩
I love using old jewelry to make vintage assemblages. I rarely find it. Wow you made a score. Watch Tarnished Treasures she also makes assemblages. Such beautiful things. I’m so jealous. Lol.
The "hat pin" was called a stick pin; worn on clothes.
Those large pins are coat pins popular in the late 80s early 90s.
There are some of us in the world who repurpose costume jewelry for many other things. LOL even 'broken' pieces.
I have seen picture frames with costume jewelry glued on the entire frame. It was lovely!
Could that huge circle “pin” maybe be for hair? Like around a bun and the pins go through the bun.
That would b pretty
I think you are correct about it being an accessory for updos.
Or for a shawl pun
Pin
"1925" was a brand name ... . CHICO'S is expensive! The pieces match their clothes..check catalog online! In the 1980s animal pins were in...
Renee, I do a ton of things with clip on earrings. I make refrigerator magnets, decorate picture frames, make bracelets. I love them!
Crafters love to use jewelry for various crafts. I like to do canvases with it. I can’t believe you scored all of that goodness! Nice! Stay healthy!
Would love stag pin, It would look great on my son's kilt! Let me know what you want for it.
PAM, the bracelet with the chain and ring attached is referred to as a Slave Bracelet. Depending on age it could be worth $5 or $150. Nice piece!
The layering of long faux pearls were a very early 90s look when the LBD was on every designers catwalk.
I wore the white rope necklace as a summer accessory to the pastel pink/ white craze of 1982.
And my sweet I hope you know the makers numbers for ster silver after that beautiful ring.
As an Aussie I still am surprised that jewellery is linked to a season....you said the leaf earrings were very fall. We wear pins or badges for Anzac Day/ Remembrance Day. I have worn jewellery for my internal desires as an adult after surviving the 80s as a trend following teen.
Love, Tassie Joy
A lot of the clip on earrings can be made into pins. You can also convert them to pierced earrings, but the heavier/larger ones would work better as pins. You can buy the hardware at any craft store.
925 denotes sterling silver on the ring you held up
No it would mean the silver is 92.5% silver and the rest of a different metal or metals sterling can only be mixed with copper, 925 does not mean it is sterling as it isn't a garuntee of the quality of the metals like something that is marked as sterling.
Renee the jewelry is from the 60,s I remember seeing some of that in Dey,s brothers in Syracuse,Ny what a joy to see all of that again, the lady was rich ,they would buy the costume jewelry thats what they did to save there money, the funky art deco was from the 70,s ,there was a time when Deco was a thing, thanks hugs
Just reading through the comments and saw Syracuse N.Y., I reside in central New York. I remember when downtown had all the big department stores. Miss those days.
Remember Switzs? That was my favorite store ever!
I used to live in No. Syracuse and my mom worked at Switz’s. As a teen in the 60s I used to love to go downtown to shop and see a movie. Those days are just a memory now. Here in Grand Rapids, which is an exciting city, people go downtown to eat, drink or hit our museums. Not many places to shop-at least none I can afford. I shop like Renee.
Those pins of every different size would go so nice on the lapel of a solid blazer. Every single thing there could be resold. My mother used to absolutely love those fashion watches
There are so many classic vintage pieces there even if you do not recognize what you have! I was intrigued by the finds because I have collected all kinds of jewellery over the years.
That wasn't a hat pin, but was worn or lapel or chest . Big fad in late 70's or early 80's .
They were called stick pins. Very popular in the 80's. I had quite a few of them.
The clip ons and other pieces would be beautiful in one of the jewelry Christmas trees very talented crafty people make...
I HAVE A JEWELRY CHRISTMAS TREE MY MOTHER MADE. ITS QUITE BEAUTIFUL. BE PERFECT FOR YOU TO MAKE.LOVE YOU.🙏🐾🌷🐈💕
linda g I just found out about those. Saw some over on Ashley Rose 🌹 Beautiful.
yes, hang them with a thread. also sometimes some of them may look like a mini food.take the back off(after making sure they are not vintage!) clean 'em up n wear them! redo the back for pierced. use them as a necklace . display them in a basket. take them apart and use the beads for something else.
The very large pin is a shawl pin, some rings can be used to joint scarves through, long strands of beads can also be braided together for purses or evening bags.
You will be surprised when you list & sell the Chico’s pieces! Have fun!!!
My Mom only wore clip-on earrings, her whole life. She was too afraid of needles to get her ears pierced.
If their no mates you can add to checkers. Or convert to pieced. Chico’s is a clothes store. The jewelry is fun. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and have a blessed day..
Junk journalers would love the beads, etc. for charms!
Maybe you could sell some of the pins to Blue Bus Dave.
you need to get a hold of bluebus dave. clip-on can made into pierced earrings. great haul
DO NOT THROW AWAY broken jewelry! i will buy it to repurpose. loved this video. thanks for posting. i learn a lot by reading the comments for your videos 😊
Bethlehem jewelry is hand carved and beautiful! Broken jewelry is the bomb for those who make jewelry. Bags of broken jewelry would sell at flea markets.
Yes don't throw out any jewelry. Crafters will but them. Post on etsy mabe in bundles.
You could even donate too your local theater.
