Great reviews, love the fact that you guys discuss speakers AND good synergy electronics. Great duo....keep it uo pls!
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊👍
Thanks as always! More work to come up with these than I am willing to do and I do appreciate it!
Thank you buddy 😊
You two rock! Thank you for these episodes.
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊👍
really enjoying these discussions, good stuff
Thank you buddy 😊👍
Thanks. I am a midrange first guy, so I appreciate you sharing your experience very much.
Thank you. You and me both 👍
Just fantastic - such an enjoyable video!
Thank you Paul. Very kind 😊👍
have bought A1 activ on your recommendation. it is so small and beautiful that it is hard to believe how big, precise and dynamic it plays...and an aluminum tweeter that plays soft with lots of overtone details. And a completely natural deep and wide soundstage. My best hifi purchase ever.....
That is great. Thank you for letting me know 😊👍
Great Wrap Up Guys, and worthy contenders in that bunch for sure.
Thank you Shane. Much appreciated 👍
Looking forward to giving this video all my attention
I hope,you enjoy it 👍
Thank yoyu for your ongoing work and providing us the insight from your experience comparing these products. I would like to see an evaluation of some additional pro-active loudspeakers. The Swiss manufactured PSI M17 and M21 monitors as well as the PMC Result-6
monitors are of great interest. They both fabricate their drivers in house and have excellent quality control. Both companies have been around for many decades and are trusted tools in the studio world.
Thank you once again. It is always a pleasure tuning in to you guys. It is a well informed, civil and pleasant time spent listening to the conversation. Take care.....John
Thank you John. I appreciate the kind words of support and the suggestions 😊👍
Fantastic video once again gents. I value your opinions and your experience cheers
Thank you my friend 😊👍
Love the channel. I have a Naim Uniti Atom HE connected to a Chord TToby via XLR with KEF LS50 Anniversay's. The Acoustic Energy's you covered got my interest. Thanks
Thank you David. If you get to hear it, please let me know what you think 😊
Awesome review. Thanks
Thank you. Much appreciated 😊👍
Brilliant review
Thank you Buddy 😊👍
I got the AE1 based on your reviews. Second hand, dirt cheap, so the value for the money is through the roof. It's taken a temporary position in my office for now (relatively near field), but will surely get something more prominent later on. What a set of speakers!
That is great Fredrik. Thank you for sharing 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 what is your opinion after 7 months?
I had the ProAc D2 for a couple of years and they were absolutely phenomenal!!
Very good speakers 👍
Cool 😎
Great show gentlemen
Thank you 😊
Thanks a lot. Very helpful and interesting 😃👌
Thank you 😊
It might not be your primary intention, Tarun, however, you are a great teacher in the audiophile field.
Thank you.
Thank you. That is very kind and much appreciated 😊👍
Great video! Was waiting on this one. The Dali Menuet SE stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard them. Looked around for the speaker that was playing and was shocked that those little buggers were the source! Also an absolute beauty. I want them for the office. Did not know the Proac owner just passed. Maybe the next guy will send you product. The ATC founder also just passed.
Thank you Jeff. There is a generation of audio legends than age getting on now. Bill Woodman, ATC founder, owner and chief designer passed away on 21st July 2022. End of an era 😢
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Recovering today from our club event yesterday-SpeakerFest-
18 standmounts. The Philharmonic BMR $1,900- was the show favorite. Designer/Owner Dennis Murphy came in from Wa. DC to speak. Review that one if you can.
Love my ATC SCM19s! Driving them with a Primare Pre32 and A34.2 power amp. Clarity and resolution is exceptional, they really turn a recording into a performance.
Thank you for sharing Mark 😊
Weak bass segment
I've really enjoyed this 2 part video Tarun. There were some great choices of speakers mentioned. I would love to hear your thoughts on the D2's, as I've heard them many times in my friends hifi shop in Ards. In my humble opinion they are one of the best all round sounding Proacs. I also preferred the silk dome tweeter to the ribbon tweeter for the same reason as you. Great video and thanks for sharing. 👍😊
Thank you Steve. Much appreciated 😊👍
Loving my ATC Scm19. Very very happy with them
Cool 😎
I note your comments about the DALI Menuet SE's with interest. The DALI Menuet is in many ways an unofficial DALI Rubicon 1. As a DALI Rubicon 2 owner, I think you would be interested to hear them. I think the larger driver and cabinet of the Rubicon 2's would retain many of the great things you like about the Menuets such as detail and tonality, but add a big dose of dynamics that you felt were missing from the Menuets. In my experience, the Rubicon 2's seem to strike the fine line of retaining many of the typical strengths of a standmount speaker, but at the same time borrowing many of the strengths of a floorstander: their dynamics and scale in particular. However as they have been released for a few years, and aren't the current flavours of the month to be pushed for reviews, they are easily overlooked. I really like your videos by the way: both your reviews and separate videos on speaker placement and room acoustics. Very informative to keen amateurs like me.
Thank you Lee. Much appreciated. I believe the Menuet SE shares a lot with the Rubicon but also elements of the Epicon such as speakers terminals and crossover parts. I hope to review more DALI speakers 😊
Bestbuy does carry Dali and I bought a pair of Oberon 5 mini floor standers. Really pleased with the sound and looks of them.
Cool 😎
Very much enjoy these videos. Tarun looking forward to hearing your take on Proac D2. Guessing the next might be going up to 3-5 k range.
Thank you. I will try to get hold of one 😊👍
Enjoyed your choice of speakers folks. The ATC SCM 19 seem quite substantial to me for a pair of bookshelves. Recently at The Melbourne Hilfiger show I was lucky enough to hear the Amphion Argon speakers and really enjoyed the sound quality in those. Tarun, I look forward to you reviewing the Proacs you mentioned. I can see how much you will most likely enjoy them as you are quite passionate about that highly regarded British brand of speakers 😎👍 Cheers guys thank you
Thank you Rob 😊
Thank you for this video series, you both have opened me up to the Acoustics Energy AE1 and ATC as a brand I would like to try out, maybe one of them will finally replace my UBR62's for desktop use.
I am especially interested in the AE1 since although having a big Rotel preamp and amp for my pc setup does sound amazing, it is a bit of a tricky setup with my adjustable desk since I have no space to the left or right of my desk and have a big honking RC-1590 sitting under my monitor, with an amp and 15" subwoofer underneath the desk because my home theater in this same living room wants the subwoofer right there of all places.
It does work great since the sub also blends with the pc speakers wonderfully (Y adapter for AVR and Rotel preamp plugged in), but having a lower profile pre amp with the AE1 will probably look a lot less cluttered, and your description of the bass is exactly what I am looking for to replace the UBR62.
Thank you for sharing your experiences Eric 😊
Smashed it chaps .. bravo 🙌
Thank you William 😊👍
Very interesting and enjoyable.
Cheers and thanks guys,, 🍻🥰👍👍
Thank you Irene. Always great to hear from you 😊👍
Great conversation and recommendations. Hope you review the ProAc D2 soon, yes, note the D2R ribbon tweeter one. I am considering the D2 but will hold off my decision before hearing your opinion. Thanks.
Thank you Derek. I will try to locate one 😊👍
I'm looking forward to the Special 40 review. I have a pair driven by 112 WPC Belles Aria mono blocks and a Rogue preamp. I am very pleased. Audio neurotic needs validation.
Thank you Jim 😊
Dalis are great speakers. I have the rubicon 2. Looks like a larger menuet se. I just love their tone and rhythm that is unique to it that i haven’t heard from any other speaker brand. And ive tried a few speakers that are even higher in price like the dynaudio s40.(kef, b&w, atc, wharfedale). I think is their woofer tech with SMC ( i believe they have patented this so its unique to them) that is ultralow distortion allows for its effortless detail and sounding fleshed out without sounding harsh. They do not extent that low or slam that hard in the bass but like you said they have this tone to them that is very unique and id rather use tone controls than use other speakers.
Thank you for sharing. The Menuet SE share much tech with the Rubcon and some parts from the higher range Epicon. They are great little speakers 🙂
Totally agree about the AE1's. I use them in my office partnered with a Marantz USB Dac and believe me they are phenomenal little speaker. In my main living area I have £10.000 Focal's partnered with a NAD M33 and the AE1's do not embarrass themselves. With a higher end Dac I'm sure they'll sound even better.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Really appreciate this video and your honesty, and your absolutely right ATC 19 speaker need alot of guts to really get them singing, mono block is the way forward for them. I have naim's SN3 which is a very good Integrated Amp with bags of current and the ATC still had more to give you could just tell ended up with Dynaudio evoke 20 and they are a brilliant match for the naim SN3 House music and the likes...Anyway hope you get your hands on the special 40's was going to get the but an extra £700 is better in my pocket put ha ha
Thank you Neil. Great to hear about your experiences 😊👍
Congratulations Tarun , was busy with assignments and work so watch your video with individual speakers .. thanks for Acoustic EnergyAE 1 , planning white for desktop set up ..and my long Bose companion 5 are now going to out .. by the way congratulations as every time I watch this video Roon’s advert there seems they are target your videos .. you should get in touch with them too as I use Roon and it’s fantastic software.. but your opinion on Roon will help your subscribers to understand room correction and EQ .. I m just a confused Audiophile but you’re a pro as you studied Engineering. And have over 25 years of experience . Thanks again
Thank you Atri. I appreciated the suggestion 😊
I enjoy your videos immensely - and have, for some time now, looked forward to a video with your experiences with whatever G.A. (!)🤔😉 amplifier you have had in your home. Why do I keep watching these videos, I am not allowed to buy new ones for the next 10 years. Still relaxing to hear you guys, you are a combined hifi version of Bob Ross.
I appreciate you watching 😉👍
Recently got an ATC SCM19. Absolutely love it. It is the most resolution I have heard in that segment and probably the segment above. Really wanted the SCM20 but there is a 6-9 month waiting list which was a bit too much for me.
ATC have this awesome bass driver, one of the best worldwide and the tweeter is not fare behind.
Got the 11,s in a small ish room for about 6 yrs now better your amp the better they sound
Th am you for watching and sharing guys 😊
My 20's took 8 months to arrive, painful wait but definitely worth it.
I`ve got the ATC SCM-20 SL and they are awesome. That midwoofer is a monster and the tweeter is so natural… The best loudspeakers I ever had and waiting for the SCM-50 😉
I have the SCM19s and they can be driven very well by the kinki studio ex-m1 215wpc @ 8 ohms. They drive them so well that is it very clear even at low volumes suitable for late evening listening. The kinki amp only cost me around £1950 including tax direct from China.

Loved it! Got to get me som of 'em AE1s (Acoustic Energy)
thank you. If you do, please let me know how you get on 👍

I have a Dali headphone the io4 and it’s a closed back headphone and I using it for listening to any sorts of music when I want to disturb no one and the sound sound is open and not over done in the bass and that is rare at that price point. You can wire it but for me it’s sounding best with Bluetooth using my IPad. Not a well known headphone and it was a surprise for me that Dali made this product.
Kind regards,
Ludo Belgium
Cool 😎
From my experience with the Proac d2 and Manley stingray ( sovtec) output tubes , the soumd is magic, don’t ask me what voodoo Proac is using in these speakers it’s scary how real some recordings sound , people talk about black background, but in this combo there is no black background ,the artist and instruments just appear in the soundstage , placement is pinpoint accurate , depth is amazing ,layered , and best of all most people won’t need room treatment in a well furnished room , of decent size , for those who like listening in low volumes , and at night , and enjoy variety in musical taste these speakers paired with the right tube amplifier is a winner . Absolutely beautiful ,. Tarun I suggest you write your review on these speakers while listening to them , let your emotion move your pen ., so so musical.
Thank you Amaran. I will try to get a dealer to lend me a pair if they can 😊
I have ATC SCM19 powered by ROKSAN K3 series, Integreted amp for the tweeters and power amp for the woofers,I think more less 240 watt/ pc...I find my setup sound glorious without sub in my room,I can live happy with it!
That is great 😊
I'm just happy to be here.. I'm looking forward to the day when I can spend 9/10k on speakers - for the meant time I'll just get along with my kef reference 4 (home theater) 7.2
Thank you Hubert 😊

ProAc have made some great speakers over the years 😊
This was brilliant. I'm hoping at some point you'll turn your attention to the new Mission 770 or 700. I suspect it would be worth your while. Thanks.
Thank you Gary. Very kind. I hope to get to it at some point 😊👍
Tarun, thanks for the reviews, I really appreciate them. I’m surprised you haven’t reviewed the LS50 Meta yet. Yep, I know you can’t review everything and there’s only so much time available but these have become such a reference speaker it would be good, I think, for you to get your ears around a pair and include a review on your site. You never know, they might surpass your Proac’s in the imaging stakes.
Thank you. I have tried but Kef declined to send them to me 😊
@@abritishaudiophile7314 That’s a shame. Perhaps a kindly watcher of the channel could send you their own pair for review. You never know.
Totem Acoustic Bison Monitors are one to take a look at sub $3K. I'm designing/building a pair of large bookshelves myself that should be pretty awesome, but more like $5-$6K at retail. Classic monitor looks meets a high-end cabinet, and high-end drivers and crossovers.
I would like to review the Bison 😊
A great part 2! That’s interesting that Proac won’t send to reviewers. Even ones as good as you Tarun. That explains why there are no reviews on yourube of the Proac Tablette 10. Even tho there are many raves on numerous forums by owners. Maybe one of your patreons / viewers could send you a pair for review?🧐
Thank you buddy. The ProAc Tablettes are a very good speaker. I have heard them many times and they should give the Dali Menuet SE a run for it’s money but I would have to get it home to be sure 😊👍
Got ATC's throughout my system. SCM100's , 11's 7's.. Superb speakers.

I had proac studio 110's and went for neat acoustics, the difference is night and day. Forget all the online reviews and go for what makes you smile not whats recommended by youtubers or magazines.
Thanks for another awesome video! I just love the fact that THE Ian White is listening to Death Metal 🖤 \m/ \m/ Keep on rockin!
Thank you buddy 👍
I personnaly considered the Totem Tribe Towers as I live in a "small" space before I got the Dali Menuet SE. Even on a Sugden 10K$ electronics, I tought the Totems sounded like an overpriced (6k$) experimental bass anemic speakers to me. I had Totem Forests for overs 20 years! The Menuet sings paired with a first rate subwoofer. Thanks for the recommandation Tarun!
That is great! So pleased that you are enjoying them 😊👍
Oh wow!! No way!! THIS is really important for me to hear.... I thought totem were God mode.
good amplifier for the ATC 19 would be the wharfedale Pro cpd 4800 watts, good frequency range 20Hz to 30kHz and only £600. can't go wrong class H to ab.
Great channel - if you read this I will recomend a speaker that I think will be right up your street was made decades ago is as clean as atc and if set up right can bring emotional moments a sleeper and absolute steal bought used - the AVI duo small floorstander passive or active the more you listen the deeper you go it reminds me of those small posters at the sea side that when you stare suddenly a picture appears they are superb a bit of magic especially with the lab series avi pre amp which was designed for the speakers
I remember them. Thank you 😊
I have recently set up my system where there can be a subwoofer under each bookshelf speaker for a tower like effect. My Polk r 200s and Focal chorus 807v have reached a level of sound I hadn't heard before.
Cool 😎
@@abritishaudiophile7314 I'm experiencing being disinterested in the same old music over and over and need something different.
I would love to hear your review of the D2 at some time in the future. I too wish ProAc was more socially engaged. 😊
Thank you Thomas 😊
AE1 active is good, i pair it with a kef kc62 and they merge well and do a respectable full range sound, definitely a good 'entry' hifi product.
That is great 👍
Neumann KH120 + KH750 would be my choice. You get perfectly build speakers with powerfull Room Correction (MA1), clear and detailed Fullrange Sound for 2.8 k €. Very hard to beat for my taste in that category - and the most important point, you can always upgrade it without switching the complete gear or has some benefits. Want bigger speaker, buy the KH310 or even 420. More Lowend, integrate a 2nd KH750 and you can even measure them in within the MA1 software. Perfectly matched Package

I have D2’s. I auditioned about 10 speakers in the £2k and the D2’s were my favourite. Ive not heard those ATC speakers tho, one day…

Heard a few Dali’s that are sub 1k. Very impressive speakers for the price. Very airy treble

This collab is amazing. Watched every episode. On the topic of the A1. What about the Elac Navis? Since the Elacs are not here I would assume to be "asked and answered". However prices might be a factor. Prices for the Elacs are around 1600usd last time I checked. For about the same price, would your money still be on the A1?
Very much in the direction of a good active + hifi rose rs250 (has analog input) - source/preamp combo. This would total for about 4k + cables and stands.
Best regards.
Thank you Felipe. The Elac Navis is a lot more expensive here. For the same money it would be an interesting comparison. The Navis is certainly more dynamic and will play louder but would have to do an A/B comparison to see which one sounds better 😊👍
The AE1 sounds amazing…. But source limitations is a concern. It might be worth it to look for a preamp/dac… or maybe a streamer?
Yes, you need to get something with an XLR output upstream ideally 👍

Thank you kindly. I haven’t heard them in an environment to judge properly as yet 😊👍
I had the scm11 with Hegel h80 for a while but curiosity led me to the LRS’s, eventually paired with Hegels h20 power amp. Can’t stop thinking though switching back to the scm11 now might just be a step up???
The SCM11 has a different mid/bass driver to the SCM19. It may be easier to pair with an amp 😊

For me, small room ... nearfield ... Rogers LS 3/5a Classic with a sub. Beats the P3ESR for that BBC sound. Still prefer it more to say an ATC SCM11. The Dali Menuet SE is really good for a 'lifestyle' kind of setup.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi. Please please think about somehow reviewing PROAC K3 speakers. Really would like to hear your opinion. I have heard them at the dealers in a very much treated acoustically room and they sounded fantastic even with a class D amplifier NAD M33. But reviewing it at home, would make a difference.
Thank you Manny. I am working on it 😊
For near field/desk setup, how do modern designs stack to LS3/5a? Did the 50 years of improvements resulted in better sound, cheaper manufacturing, or adopted to different customer preferences? Or were LS3/5a never the best you could get?
The LS3/5A have a distinct character but still stack up very well with modern speakers 😊
Tarun, since you really like a great midrange you should try the French Jean-Marie Reynaud speakers.
Thanks for the heads up 😊
Thanks for the great review! I have to place my bookshelf speakers on a bookshelf. Which of these will perform best
when the front of the speaker is about 63 cm from the wall? Thanks for whatever help you can give!
The Dali Menuet SE and the Spendor Classic 4/5 😊

Hi. Can you please review the Blumenhofer MINI Speaker. I heard good things about it but I’m trusting ur opinion and comparisons!I would really appreciate please.
Thank you. I will look them up 😊
Tarun, would you please try and review ProAc SM100. They obviously have a studio pedigree so their tonality might be your cup of tea. I've got an impression they are sort of under the radar speakers.
The SM100 has a cooler tone than the typical ProAc speaker. I hope to review one at some point 😊
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thank you for your reply. That would be great. I would not call them cool, at least in my system. However, I have never heard any if the Response series. The only ProAcs I have compared my SM100 to are from older Studio line models, namely 125 and 140 mki floor standers and 115 standmounts. In terms of resolution SM100 are better than any off the ones mentioned above. The insight into the recording is just incredible but bever fatiguing.
I have Proac anniversary tablettes and a Luxman Lv-105. I love my setup but would be interested what the next step up would be in speakers?
Cool 😎
I'm late to the party. I've owned the Dali Mentor Menuet for several years which is the predecessor of the current Dali Menuet SE. I'm not sure if there is any difference in sound quality between the models but suspect it's fairly similar. The tonality of the Dali is slightly to the brighter side of things and a bit unrefined at the top when compared to Harbeth loudspeakers which was my reference during the time I owned them. The Dali Mentor Menuet although good are not keepers in my book.
In the £1k to 3k price range new or used, I would recommend these options instead which to me sound more balanced with improved tonality, clarity and detail.
Graham LS5/9
Harbeth C7ES3 XD
I haven't heard the latest Harbeth M30.2 XD but the M30.1 and 30.2 didn't float my boat. The sound lacks the detail, clarity and openness of the Graham LS5/9. Nevertheless, people who prefer a warm sound may prefer the M30.1 or 30.2 to the Graham LS5/9.
I would also put the Proac DB1 and SM100 to the list as well although I do not have e experience with these.
Thank you for sharing your experiences 😊
High calibre video as always, thank you!… What appropriate balanced pre-amp / DAC would you recommend/suggest with AE1’s? Any input from the wider community very welcome)
One Direction I did have in mind was the MiniDSP FLEX, future scope for Dirac room correction (Which could have benefits levelling off those frankly rude room modes). They do a balanced version too.
Thank you. I would use something like a SMSL VMV D1SE as a DAC. As for preamps, the Schiit Freya would be worth considering as well as the Mini DSP Flex with Analogue Balanced outputs that you mention 😊
@@abritishaudiophile7314 So, do I get this correctly: you would get the active speakers for 1000€ and pair them with a 750€ DAC and a 1400€ Pre-Amp plus a source like a streamer? That would bring the cost close to 4000€. Wouldn't something like a NAD M10v2 +KEF LS50 Meta or Powernode+Exposure 2510+LS50Meta or something similar be a better investment? I find it hard to believe that in in a 4000€ system, only 1000€ for speakersplusamp is really the best distribution of the money.
@@tubesticker I meant use the VMV D1SE as a front end for digital only users 😊
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thanks for you response. So the Freya was only if I want to hook up other sources than digital? So if I use streaming only, you would add the SMSL plus a streamer, Node plus SMSL would also run 1300€, so more for source+ DAC than speakers+amp? I heard that the DAC inside the Node wasn’t bad. Do you think the Node2i alone wouldn‘t cut it?
@@tubesticker then AE1s are that good that they deserve a decent front end. They are not comparable to any other £1,000 amp and speaker combination I can think of. Ideally I would use an XLR balanced connection to them so you eliminate the risk of an RCA cable picking up noise. However, the Node would be a good starting point and you could always add a DAC with balanced XLR outputs later 😊
Dear tarun, would you consider reviewing KINKI STUDIO EX-M1+ integrated….
Your opinion will definitely help me making the final call …..
best regards

Thank you. I hope to get to it in time 😊
Very informative. Thinking to upgrade my B&W CM1 for a while to go with my Naim Uniti Atom. Definitely ATC SCM7 but how about SCM-11?
The SCM7 tends to suffer from noticeable dynamic compression. I haven’t tried the SCM11s though 😊
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Hmmm, no other reviews mention that and I have read quite a few.
hi I have a pair of ATC Scm11 I could ask you if under this type of speakers there is a need for heavy and totally deaf stands totally filled with filler? thank you

Hi Tarun. Do you remember what kind of amplification you heard the special 40s with?
Amps from Naim and Hegel work well 😊
Proac Response D2D review please!! 🙏🏼
If I can get hold of one 😉
Hi Tarun, I am looking for a bookshelf speaker that is compatible with a single ended tube amp. meaning regarding efficiency and impedance linearity. Can you please give a recommendation.
I would look into full range drivers. There aren’t many of them though 😊
It is a pity in my country only sell dali menuet (Not SE). Do you think the sound will be very different?
It should have similar characteristics but I would have to hear it to be sure 😊
How exactly would you go about integrating a sub into a setup with the AE1's?
Most people will just have equipment with RCA output. Use some RCA Y splitter from the source equipment? Bit shoddy.
I guess equipment with XLR outputs would probably have separate sub connections, but this requires another expensive purchase.
Thanks.
You could use an AVR with pre-outs as a preamp and run a sub from there.
You will need a DAC or preamp with additional preouts 😊
They are all very good speakers~ I am afraid that my rega elicit-r amplifier is not powerful enough~ and I have a small bedroom space, it is a rectangular listening space, only 30CM from the rear wall, the distance between the speakers is only 3.8 feet, Very small space, if I choose a large bookshelf speaker, will there be a problem? Based on your experience, I hope you can help me choose a suitable speaker~ THANK U
The Dali Menuet SEs would be worth trying out. Stick small bookshelf speakers 😊
Hello Tarun, Im interesting on dali Menuet SE. To be place 3meter away from listening position less than 12" place from Front Wall. By the fact of detail and resolution of DALI. Would that be a good idea? to upgrade because seem My Retro Amp NAD 3225PE Is 25Watt power may not able to match for Driven the Dali? So question Shall I go for Dali to match with old style int.Amp like this?
You may need a bigger speaker at 3m away 😊
I've had a couple sets of proac models and they are top tier for certain and sound good on nearly everything, what kind of pricing would you expect if one can even find a set of the authentic response 1SC models nowadays?
I would expect to pay between £1,000 to £1,300 depending on condition 😊
@@abritishaudiophile7314 that's around what I expected, and pretty hard to find a pair really after looking around.
Hi Tarun. Is there a reason why the current ProAc response DB1 is not listed here?
I haven’t reviewed it. Unfortunately, ProAc politely declined to send it to me.
It’s their loss not giving it to you for assessment. Your well grounded opinion is highly valued.
Okay, but what is the obvious pre-amp/dac partner for the AE1? Do I understand correctly you have to combine them ideally with a £3.000 streamer/dac?
There are plenty of reasonably priced DACs with volume controls and balanced outputs from SMSL, Topping, etc.. It is more tricky for vinyl lovers but the Schiit Freya S may be a good starting point 😊
Thank you! To be honest it all remains quite complicated for me, streamer, dac, pre-amp, powered-speaker 🙂
