Love your video, informative and punchy, i've learned a lot from your experience
The last 2min was so inspiring. Thanks for the video ben
God Bless! I hope your mother is ok! Thanks for your help!
thanks for sharing Ben! have been watching you for more than a year & benefitted a lot from your vids. v privileged to be at a top undergrad b-school rn but feeling incredibly lost w many talented peers chasing money & prestige but this vid helped me stay grounded. best of luck at Wharton & hope your mom is doing well!
great to hear you're at a great school and i appreciate the support!
Thanks for sharing Ben! Been following your video for a year, Iâm now a freshman. Before entering college, Iâm really into finance; however, after entering college, Iâve taken a course, called the first step of startup. I finally realized I was at first obsessed with finance is only because of the prestige and aura. And now, startup really grew on me and I determined to devote myself into startup.
Good luck on your new business
haven't watched it yet but just want to say that this is the type of content I love to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience. Ok, I'll watch it now :)
thanks june!
I just uploaded a veryy similar video and talked about the exact same reasons for leaving M&A
I'm young and now is the perfect time to take risks, I always wanted to pursue entrepreneurship and knew now was better time than any
Sorry to hear about what your mum is going through - look forward to following your growth Ben
It was cool that you quoted Alan Watts!
Brother I can understand you feel à„€ Very good keep going on brother
Last mom and dad is everything
The content is pure.
Praying for you đ
What a story... I think the lessons you shared really applies to a lot of people out there. To take a step back and reflect what each of us really want. Thanks for the great vid!
thank you man i appreciate it
The video was really informative sir. Can you please also make a video on pe , VC , hedge fund salaries just like you made for I banking and Management Consulting ? Thank you .
Great video Ben! A few thoughts:
I'm glad you recognise that you had an unhealthy, workaholic-esque work ethic and are in the process of changing. I really hope there is a healthy balance going forward while balancing education, a business, and your mom back home.
While I do love your videos in general, every now again you put out a video like this - more unstructured, more unrefined, fewer edits, just speaking from the heart - and I think they're awesome. There is a lot more of your personality in them and they're warmer. I definitely gravitate and connect to this style.
And the editing is more fun too. I like how you balanced serious topics with light-hearted ones interspersed with some cool edits. I laughed at the AS caption, and anything Pokémon-related will always get my approval (though fire doesn't paralyse, electric does!).
I hope your mom is doing well, I really do.
Edit: I hope you get the channel monetised soon.
it would be fun to see how much you maek from this account!
Hi Rareliquid! Thanks for doing this. Do you have plans to do any videos on quantitative trading, which is as competitive as IB and management consulting to get into?
i dont know much about quant trading so probably not. if i meet someone with that background i'll see if i can interview them though!
Hi Ben, could you talk a little more about your GMAT experience?
I lost my mom to ALS last year bro. I have a similar background to you, was in IB for 2 years and then did 5 years at a Megafund (Apollo). The millions of dollars I made still was not enough to save my mom and I was devastated. I'm now looking to start my own business where I can help people avoid the same mistakes I made. LEt me know if you'd like to talk or even interview me!
I hope your mum is doing well
thank you gerald~
Do you regret doing your startup since it didn't succeed and seemed to have closed doors for you afterwards?
Career is a sense of purpose
Your take on the AMC&GME saga? THX
came here to do research on copywriting and got captivated by the story
It seems the lesson is that some Investment Banking experience is not a magic key that opens all the doors of employment after all.
But you are smart and will be successful in anything you do.
Do you have your own financial modelling or Excel course?
Hi Ben, awesome video. I wanted to ask your advice on whether or not it makes sense for me to get a Finance + CS dual degree or just a Finance degree and CS + Stats minors, if Iâm a non-target trying to get into investment banking? I enjoy all of these subjects but can only pick one option to graduate on time.
Loved the video Ben. I have a question for you if thatâs okay. I am a graduate from a non target in London (Middlesex) and Covid-19 stopped me from doing any kind of internships so I donât have any experience under my belt. I have however done several courses and am very proficient in Financial Modelling. I want to get into Investment Banking. What would you recommend I do? I very much appreciate your reply.
hmm if you've already graduated i would say it'd be pretty tough to make a move into banking. i think if banking is truly what you want i would go for an mba
No chance with middlesex. Only Russell group universities. Doubt they even take a receptionist from that uni
@@dac8939 so what would you recommend I do? Iâd really like to go into IB and I donât think I can do a masters now. If there is any kind of way to break in, could you please let me know. Thank you so much for your reply
@@-Shaquille_Oatmeal- Impossible. Even masters would unlikely as they look at both universities. Best trying any finance related role outside IB and save up few years for a leading MBA. Then retry associate level jobs. You will need a top MBA school only to make up for your university
@@dac8939 how about management consulting? Sorry if I am disturbing you. Iâve heard that Deloitte recruit non targets but I know itâs 20 in 200 or something like that
Joma?
Whatâs the plan after you get your MBA at Penn?
continue on with rareliquid but i have a lot of plans of making it about a lot more than youtube
@@rareliquidcareers the answer to that question should be another video :)
Sorry man but you were confused and thought like other Gen Z. who thought working should be meaningful and doing what you like.
I studied and worked hard all my life on what job paid me the most so I could support my family and provided a good living.
Seems a waste just doing youtube after MBA. Pointless spending all that $$$. Sorry to hear about your mum
