I worked at the eagle mountain open Pit iron mine back in the late sixties. My job was to stand at the edge of a Kobelco crusher and signal each two hundred ton ore truck when they could back up and dump their load. I felt the crushers power in my bones. The rock crushing sound was like a series of muffled explosions under my feet. Impressive.

I worked at an open pit gold mine in Canada. As the crusher operator I controlled the size of material as well as speeds for the conveyers and screens as well as the crushers. One jaw crusher two cones. The entire control room would shake. When its 5 am and you’re 10 hours into a 12, it liked to rock you to sleep aha

It's interesting that there are so few workers. I think at least a cleanup crew must come in every day. What if something breaks ? That would be a disaster. Is the ore pelletized ? Does the ore get transported elsewhere ? I'd like to see the whole cycle from raw material to finished product.
