My favorite strategy is to play the numbers with their respective running-mates as they are rolled, combined with some instances of using the Iron Cross. If the point is a 6 or 8, I will establish the Iron Cross right away. Any other point, then I take that point's running-mate, and then whatever numbers are rolled I will take that number and it's running-mate. For example, if a 4 is rolled, then I take a 4 and 10, and if a 5 is rolled, then I take a 5 and a 9, etc.
