Hi, I'm the co-developer for this aircraft and appreciate your enthusiasm about what we built. A few things to mention so that viewers don't get wrong impressions.
- the gyro and also the horizon do that jittering when turned on. This has been simulated against the video footage we have.
- the violett color on the knobs is as it is on the plane we had access to. It is UV light color deterioration of the dark grey pigments
- the plane has a carburetor with automatic mixture control, so you don't need to move it in flight. Just pull it in an emergency to stop the engine.
- english labeling comes up with clicking on the flap
- an update will come out to enable the automatic gyro function. Right now it is only the manuel mode "DG"being active.
- you need to switch on all overhead switches except the two left on the right side.
- further you need to press the fuse just in front of you so that the battery gets loaded from the generator
- there are many details in the handbook that comes with it
- yes the swiss flight school had many of them and at least one is still flying in that original paint
- all other liveries are original paint scheme on the outside, but no adaptation on their cockpits.
You did a fantastic job with it! i love flying this thing. Really enjoyable aircraft. The knobs part I took as being a dxt issue, but if they were faded on the irl model that way, perfect!
OOO that panel looks fantastic with all the movable lamps and funny gauges!
Another great video, just something about your reviews, narration skills and terminology that just makes your channel stand out.
Can’t wait for a B-727, VC10 or Lockheed Connie to come out. Also the DH beaver and Cessna golden eagle 421.
Those are ones I'll be into! Retro big birds are sexy... modern stuff is just... program computer and fly! blegh :D Maybe I'm a 20th century aviator in the wrong century!

Thanks for another fun review. I bought this a couple days ago and am enjoying the old school feel. I wrote to ATSimulations about the Aircraft manager panel (Shift+3) and they said that feature is only in the FSX/P3D version (hope they bring it to MSFS). You can, however, click the German flag on the left side of the panel and switch the labels to English. Another cool effect is bent props if you belly land it!

Nice, Just got it. Glad you are going for the VR now, I have the Rft-S and I find it to be one of the most trouble free headset. and the clarity still amazes me.

I just watched your video to see if your opinion was the same as mine. It is the best £18 I have spent in the sim up to now I think.
Nice circuit by the way! I also selected Zell Am See (Orbx) for the first flight (spooky), but I did the whole first circuit with the canopy open and the sounds are great.
After a quick touch and go I flew through the mountain passes to Salzburg and back, then I also pulled up in front of the bouncy castle (or maybe it was the bar I was looking at really!) :-)
Their are a few things that need to be finished off (radios etc.), but the developer seems responsive and has released a little update already - I notice I can hear the fuel pump now for instance.
Some strange bugs are rain/snow coming into the cockpit, and rain actually trickles forward on the top left canopy panel! (or maybe it has strange aerodynamics LOL!)
Anyway, thanks for the review and the demonstration circuit. I have subscribed after this - very informative and entertaining!
There is a whole thread on this at Avsim forums, and the plane is going down well. The developer is monitoring the thread to fix reported problems (a good sign) and there are some good tips on there as well.

I guess I'm quite lenient when it coems to 'finished' out of the gate, i can see some bugs, but I also can recognise little bug that will be fixed vs totally borked (like the Bigtire Kitfox) These are little niggles rather than fat woopsies.
I apprecaite the kind comments, I try to make my reviews and content light but informative and more dynamic and conversational. Thanks for posting it! glad peopel find these useful :D
@@AvAngel Yes, I agree. The developer has a good track record it seems, so I am confident the bugs will get ironed out. By the way, what does your 'potato' comment mean when referring to the landscape? That was the only bit of the video I couldn't follow! :-)
Looks very fun and quirky, and more aerobatic than an Arrow or Mooney was meant to be (but more docile than the Pitts or Extra which both feel like they're trying to kill me), I may have to pick this one up yet!
Thank you for not smothering the video with music! Nice to hear all the sounds. I really miss a flyby view though, hope Asobo adds that soon. In terms of the aircraft, it doesn't seem to bleed airspeed well on the approach - I recollect from real life flying that speed bleeds uncomfortably fast with no throttle, even if approach is high.

11:10 On the terrain. Your BING world data graphics (Options, General, Data) may have been turned OFF. For some reasons this setting sometimes resets to OFF.

One of the most underrated msfs aircraft. Fantastic plane. Quality of flight model etc, is on par with Just flight Turbo Arrow IMHO.

@@AvAngel 1) You get a huge discount from Just FLT if you buy the second one. I think I paid less than 15 usd for it.
2) Its a very different plane. Its even more refined than the II. Think of it as the younger brother every one wants to date.

@@AvAngel If you go into your account page on JustFlight, and your previous orders, click on the Arrow III, and there should be a link to click on to activate the discount.
What a great little aircraft, very nimble and easy to fly, will done !! Have you looked at the ICON A5? It's a sweet little recreational flyer for land and sea.
Certainly is! Icon is one of the default planes, its fun but its a bit 'ipod' for my taste :D

So on watching this vid, I purchased it. Very easy .. installation was a snap. ...
But.. Houston, we have a problem. Move my stick left, the stick in the cockpit moves left.. Look at me left aileron and it's down.. What the...
The only way I can fly this plane is to reverse the axis of my ailerons.. then the visual in cockpit shows the stick backwards, and the ailerons correct. It's very concerning to watch the stick and ailerons back asswards..
But then If I want to fly any other plane I have to reverse the aileron axis. Has anyone experienced this with this addon?
I did not see that particular glitch myself... its obviously an animation error, so might be something the dev will have to sort, as the plane rolls left when you move your controls left, its fine right? just a visual glitch.

not just a visual glitch. I have to reverse the axis to fly this plane.. which makes all other planes unflyable until I un reverse it.
Hmm, not a sign of any Garmin glass in that cockpit. I'm definitely intrigued and this just might be on my future purchase list (gotta put those Logitech FIPs to good use).
Yup! It certainly is a nice thing to see more planes with no glass :D
Good point. I love these classic aircraft with steam gauges, rather than the modern glass cockpits, which I really dislike and Asobo is pushing down our throats

I LOVE the Navion :D one of my favourite aircraft, I was part of the team (LDR Development) that made the freeware one for fsx and p3d. Work of love that thing.

Nice review as usual. MSFS regularly resets my graphics options to potato, no idea why. Going to have to resist buying every tempting plane I see, they are getting good!

Your BING data settings are switched off every time there is a weak internet connection. It does not mean your internet is slow, but sometimes the server connection is weak and then you get a quick message while the sim is loading that the internet was too slow and DATA streaming goes OFF.
Scenery looks about like it all looks on mine since my pc will only run medium graphics.

Would love to have it but I just can't get past the purple knobs, regardless of the reason.
We are planning to update the audio avionics to enable 8.33 kHz radio frequency. Not decided yet which model we want to use for the set. Maybe the violett is gone then, though it is the real color on the plane we used as our master plane. It is typical color change from UV light over the years.
Go into your general settings and click "DATA" tab and make sure your BING DATA WORLD GRAPHICS is ON, that's why you're missing half your scenery

@@AvAngel If your sim hiccups and you lose the internet connection with msfs even for a second, it will turn off and you have to go in and turn it back on, at least you know how to fix it now. Cheers

Yeah makes me think its a compression issue, purple and green effects are a side effect of that.

Anyways, few comments after fully watching the video, firstly, great review as usual, and the aircraft looks fantastic!
Secondly, in terms of the gyro thing, it may be a bug, but you did also switch the gyros on while on the taxi, you really not meant to do that. Gyros should be switched on while the aircraft is stationary and preferably on a level surface, you then need to give the gyros time to spin up (while still stationary on that level surface) before you can really trust what they're telling you, and before they become stable enough to overcome the tendency to topple from being bounced around on the taxi, or through forces on them during flight.
tl;dr it might be a bug or it might be because you turned em on while moving.
Other than that, looks fantastic and thanks for another great review! Can't wait to see some VR stuff in the future, it really is a game changer!
(And yes..... though tbh, I'm not sure there's any probably about it.. I mean, well modeled, oldschool GA kinda aircraft.... yeah.... not much convincing required haha)
