    It's more Ditko rather than Romita Sr 😉

      Yep absolutely, that’s my first thought - the head sculpt in particular. The spacing of the webbing on the suit is wider, which is very JR style - it’s a very cool hybrid between the two I think 🙌🕷️👍👍

    Got to say, that light up head is so cool!! Really like the touch of having a Spidey-sense attachment too ❤ great review dude, Mezco’s attention to detail is second to none in that 1/12 scale 🙌

      You hit the nail on the head dude, Mezco just crush it with the accessories yet again! And a decent figure too!

    Thanks for reviewing. I've pre-ordered this but in every review I've seen so far the head looks so big compared to the body. Is it as noticeable in hand? I'm considering cancelling as his overall appearance looks off to me. I'm a big Mezco fan but I just can't get behind any characters in the Spandex (classic Superhero style) costumes. I think the skintight nature of them highlights the undersized, relatively shapeless bodies that clothed figure need to have in order to accommodate the thickness of the cloth goods. Their Power Rangers are the only acceptions that look right to me. Maybe because helmeted heads do look large compared to the wearers body. Accessories are a home run as ever though.

      The head that it comes with actually on the figure is ever so slightly big, but it doesn’t actually look majorly noticeable (in my opinion). The spandex look is something that normally I feel very similar to you about, but this one works for me in that it’s representative of that early Spidey era, and there is a pretty generous give on the suit. I think it also works well as this is playing into that teenage years Peter Parker when he first got his powers, and he wasn’t really drawn as defined and muscly as he has been in more recent years. It’s certainly not the greatest Spider-Man figure by any stretch, but it offers something very different - it’s a great point that you’ve made about Helmeted figures and head size - this one just about works, but I totally get the feelings some people have in observing that it’s slightly on the big size. I’m a big comic nerd, so this one works for me, but I 💯 get that it’s not for everyone - and sometimes soft goods aren’t always the best thing for some characters 👍👍

    I can't get the eyes to light up is there a trick

    • @marvelousactionfigures

      It is quite tricky - you need to lift the chin piece underneath, then once you’ve added the batteries there is a very small on/off switch. The chin piece is quite fiddly, it has a very small lip to it, and that’s where you unclip it from the head sculpt 👍👍

    I’ve heard people complain about the shoulder fabric tearing, is this an issue?

    • @marvelousactionfigures
      @marvelousactionfigures  Před 2 měsíci +1

      So far no issues with mine, but I can see how it might become a problem with the more extreme comic book style Spidey posing (sort of Todd McFarlane art style). I tend to keep this figure in more neutral or less expansive posing and it’s been for avoiding stressing the fabric 👍👍

      @@marvelousactionfigures Thank you, I don’t plan to pose him a lot and will display him in a safe place, so the material does not deteriorate, which I heard reviewers warn of.

      @@noahdanielg I think that’s a good strategy for this figure, he will look great in a display and for that the soft goods looks is perfect 👍👍

      The vinyl on the shoulders creases (with permanent white stress marks) the moment you raise his shoulders/arms. Mezco crapped out on the materials.

      @@chevy-is-a-good-boy yeah the big trouble with Mezco figures is that fabric is great for a super poseable character like Spidey. You definitely have to be really careful with him 👍
