Yep, whoever did this refin ages ago deserves an award.
This was so helpful thanks man! I'm restringing mine LONG overdue. Cheers
These videos are really helpful. Thanks Jim!
You're always too kind Marcus
really helpful video, fantastic head-turner of a guitar!
Thanks Ian, i really do enjoy working on guitars a shame it's not the most in demand industry here or I'd really take it seriously haha
So useful thank you. Off to double check my trem arm isn't rubbing 😅
Just bought a fender mustang recently. I was not prepared how delicate the string change would be. It was a very frustrating first process lol. This video definitely helps me
Yeah I had the same thing kinda thing happen to me the first time I decided to try and set one up myself for the first time, how hard can it be right?? haha happy it helps
Great video!
I haven't looked yet but I hope you have a string change\setup of a Rick 325 with the Bibsby.
A fantastic video have a wonderful day Jim
Thanks, you too!

Thanks from ireland 🇮🇪
No problem, happy you enjoyed it!
Having owned a lot of Mustang guitars over 5+ decades, I found that using a clickable point ink pen with the tip IN and not out, or the pointed end of a clean carmel apple stick 😊 is handy to use to make sure the ball end stays firmly seated in the cigar tube as you pull the string tight on its way to the tuner. 😊 I also put the nut lube under each string tree. In the package with the Big Bends applicator, you'll find a lavender color plastic toothpick looking thing. One end has a very tiny textured ball end. Use that to apply the lube to the underside of the string trees. That thing also helps to get extra string lube out from the forward and rearward edges of the nut. Any extra lube on the top of the nut gets wiped off by a Kleenex. I've had Q-tips leave little fuzzy hairs behind. What product did you use to clean the frets? That's a nice looking Mustang.
See I'm a fool Deb, I lost that little package years ago with the baby brushes - I think old Ace may gotten to it he manages to find the wildest things.
For the frets I switch between Gorgomyte and FretNot, they are quick to use just easy to get good results with.
@AudiomoMusic I've used Gorgomyte and I like it. I haven't tried FretNot. I need to find some.
Awesome
Thanks David awesome to see you around again man
Hi Jim. Ive had duosonics and mustangs for years but never bad a string change or proper set up. I've just bought a 2004 fender deluxe cyclone and I've booked it in to have a proper professional setup. Problem is i have no idea what the best strings to buy are. I don't want to get wrong. I play nirvana, the cure, surf stuff, bit of a mixture. Any thoughts?
Great video, also love the color, muscle car - plum crazy?
I haven't the slightest idea what the actual color is called, it's an old refinish but I doooooo like it a lot
If I could only find a good hardshell case for my mustang! Not the crappy fenders
what gauge strings are you using with that tremolo?
10-46 no problems with the dynamic vibrato
A purple mustang holy fuck
At the risk of getting some more more 'constructive' feedback (😂😂) from other posters, lovely looking guitar. Will we get to hear it?
Haha what did you do last time???? I must have missed something. I did a demo on this guitar a few weeks ago but like a fool I did not post a purple mustang as the thumbnail
@@AudiomoMusic I was told I was sound deaf for not hearing too much difference between the Les Pauls (🤣🤣). Better check back to hear the mustang!
Not only am I sound deaf but losing my memory. I have seen the video 😂😂. Must be getting old!!
BRO ITS TAKING TAKING STRINGS OFF AND ON THATS IT
If that's all that you think setting up a Mustang right requires, why on gods green earth would you click the video
the video is call mustang need a re string nothing else
You're right, all the stuff along the way that is important to setting up a Mustang was not mentioned and or zoomed in to show people so that they could set up their own and in fact all I did was clip strings and put new ones on - that was the entire video
bro really???
bro i would name it somthin like How to Setup Guitar Neck Relief String Height on a fender mustang/squirer
Why wont you say "nut sauce"?
"Big bends...uh,lubricant"
youtube once demonitized a video of mine for saying that. ridiculous - it's sad but how it is.
