rekha bhardwaj has husky voice which is far better than other female singers..this song is different guys...its not "koi fariyaad" this is "teri fariyaad". if you dont compare this song with older version you will find a connection between jagjit singh ji's voice with rekha bhardwaj's voice..these two are legends and always be...she did complete justice with this song because not even once she tried to recreate old song....but she sung it in her own style and this is the beauty of this version.

Tum Bin undisputedly remains my favourite bollywood film. I have been waiting for a remake since years. Tough nothing can match the charisma of original track and movie this ost itself is revitalising and soulful. It's good to listen this vision aswell.

The original was already a masterpiece. To build something on top of it...around it...would have been such a challenge at the outset. The team has not only surmounted that but during this creative evolution have come up with a gem. They have probably added another few centuries to the song that was already timeless. Talking of individual brilliance, this song has completely changed my perception towards Ankit Tiwari and Rekha Bharadwaj. I am a big fan now and have started to understand their work. The trio from Turkey has given it a new sound and yet so befitting. The last but one word for the man who has left a deep impression...Shakeel Azmi. And the last word? And all my words after last and those that I dont... cant...they are all for Jagjit Singh. When your part of the song is played things happen which are uncontrollable. Goosebumps , tears, sea of emotions you stir that I didn't know exist.

what made the original song unique was how the background instruments reached a cresendo and seemed to matched with lyrics in each stanza. In this version there is way too much variation in instrumental, forcing listeners out of the experience. Besides listening to Jagjit Singh in parts makes one feel even more like something great is amiss.
