What does insurance mean
Let’s say Player bets 50. The cards are drawn and dealer is showing an ace. Dealer will ask if you would like insurance, this means you can insure your hand, you are placing another separate bet that the dealer does have blackjack.
When you take insurance you must bet half of your original bet. So in this case, 25. If dealer does have blackjack you would lose your hand (50), but because you took insurance, you win your money back!
You want to make sure you are only I taking insurance if you have a good hand (for example: 20. ) because if you do not, and the dealer does not have blackjack, you still need to win your hand and not lose both insurance and your hand!
