The sound quality of the real pair was much better than the fakes. That's not to say that Beats has the best sound out there, nor is it the only brand of headphones I own.

One of my buddies listened to about 20 pairs, and eventually came across one with more accurate sound reproduction than the real ones (they were Solos). I doubt they'll last very long, but for the equivalent of $35 it's hilarious that they sound better.

I have NO IDEA how people missed the simple difference at 1:23 look at the bottom left corner of the boxes (beats pro) the fake is was more spaced apart then the real one is. Also, another simple difference is that on the real box, the letters in the bottom left corner (beats pro) is in italics, but the fake one is not in italics ( its not completely in italics, but it looks as though its slanted) Although it could just be the angle of witch the camera is pointed.
I recently chose the Beats Studio3's. Not for the name, by any means. I got them because of the awesome ANC they have. It blocks out ALL sound. Even with it off, the ear pads block a whole lot. I didn't get them for bass for these don't have all the bass the Solo3's have. The Studio's are good for multi genre listening. Also, they bring low background instruments to the front AND you can tell what the artist is saying more when they're singing. In case you couldn't understand a line in the song. I like these. Money wasn't an object for these were a birthday gift to me. Great gift!
If I can just add my two bits here I'd like to tell you my beats studio story. I was gifted a pair of beats studio by a good friend of mine cause he thought they would be the best gift for a musician /producer (me). My excitement them lasted a very short time as the poor sound quality was interfereing with my mixes and anything mixed on them came out sounding like rubbish. So I went back to my trusted AKGs and gave the beats to my wife who does translation work and needed a pair of comfortable headies.. As fate would have it she broke the plastic headband trying to fold them one time... I was surprised that the build quality was so poor.. About a year later this buddy of mine was moving away and whilst packing up I noticed his pair of Beats in the trash pile... I asked him why he was throwing them away and he said they'd been abused and listened to death and were no longer playable anymore.. So I rescued them from the trash as I thought I would use the headband to fix my beats and throw away the rest.. When I got home I replaced the batteries and connected it to my ipod.. The first thing I noticed was the sound quality was amazing.. They weren't spoilt at all.. So I started to mix a track on them just for a fun.. Waddya know.. Turns out that these beats studio were proper mixing headphones.. Definitely worth the bucks to me if you can mix on them.. I cross referenced the mix on my studio monitors and they definitely check out.. So now I currently own 2 pairs of Beats.. One possibly fake which is why I clicked on this video to see if there were any visual differences I could spot between the two .. However you're video is about the beats pro and my headies are the beats studio so everything including the packaging is very different and difficult to spot out as I didn't get any packaging for the other pair.. But in conclusion and IMHO the Beats studio originals are proper monitoring headphones meant for the studio professionals to mix music.. They have very little ear fatigue and you can mix for hours.. Just wanted to point that out..

I brought pro for about 190 euros previous month. Even they are not heavily used they don’t have serial number only box has a valid serial number but all the other signs are original. THE sound of em is amazing and better than studio beat by dre. Hope I have the right pair .
Beats are a favorite for forging simple because these people making fakes know how cheap the real ones really are and how easily they cen be replicated and sold for a much much higher value than they are worth
Be warned that you can buy fakes at "legitimate" stores. What happens is that a customer buys the real head phones, swaps the headphones out for fake headphones, returns the purchase and the store resells the headphones. People have been getting bricks when buying smart phones so you can see that the employees don't even bother looking at the product when returned.
Just go into a apple/AT&T or the actually website and buy a pair of actual fucking beats and don't be cheap and get fake knockoff ones. That's how you don't worry about if it is fake or not

Its eq setting is easily assimilated. So in theory fake ones should sound just as good if the build quality of the speakers in them are good. I mix tracks use the guetta versions.

I have a pair of fake detox pros and at first the quality was terrible. Everything sounded terrible but after using them for around 2 months on and off the base, highs and mids got better drastically. They actually sound comparable to real beats and after putting them through an equalizer I can easily make them sound like real beats
I have "Studio" fake pair and everything i can say it's cheap in desing. Metal is plastic and so on... But 1 thing is amazing. Sound quality! They can DROP THE BASS really good. When i use "Unique" profile on my PSP the bass it's even better! They look awful with this plastic but hey... Quality is good and that's everything i need :) (And i paid only 40$ !!!)

Tanner Tovey got it correct, if you want good headphones for a relatively cheap price, go for the Audio-Technica ATH-M50s. Less than Beats, more comfortable, more defined mids and lows, doesn't sound muddy and shit.

I have "Studio" fake pair and everything i can say it's cheap in desing. Metal is plastic and so on... But 1 thing is amazing. Sound quality! They can DROP THE BASS really good. When i use "Unique" profile on my PSP the bass it's even better! They look awful with this plastic but hey... Quality is good and that's everything i need :) (And i paid only 40$ !!!)
Fake Beats are dead ;-; Now i have Bluetooth Prestigio PBHS1. Something around 40$-45$.
If someone wants to buy fake beats... buy prestigio :) Better Quality, better material and bluetooth. (for 45$ :p ) (I have PBHS1 and they're awesome. I've heard that PBHS2 suck but i'm not sure.)
Tanner Tovey got it correct, if you want good headphones for a relatively cheap price, go for the Audio-Technica ATH-M50s. Less than Beats, more comfortable, more defined mids and lows, doesn't sound muddy and shit.
Am I the only one that sees the beats by dre on the fake ones have a space and on the real ones it doesn't in front of the box to the bottom left?

I don't understand why people get fake once, just to "show" that you have the money when you really don't?
I had the Beats Solo, but never really used them much, so I gave them away. I bought some cheap once on eBay, they where purple and little did I know when I got fake Beats! They did not lock like they did on the site and obviously for 10 dollars they where horrible.
The fake ones compared to the real ones, no difference. I had the Real one plus the fake one.I brought the fake one to school not to show off or anything, but to enjoy music! So think before you comment! (Small minded.)
same hardware, same sounds, slight differences, buy the fake one, it's worth it, save your money!

How are you suppose to tell the real from the fake unless you have the other to compare it to?
The sound quality is decent, but I'm just sick of the ear pieces always breaking on me and the Beats company doesn't want to take responsibility for it. Last time I buy Beats.
