I was borderline obsessed with this game as a kid. The whole open world concept along with the randomized item locations made it feel like a new experience every time I played it even though I would rarely make any actual progress. Eff that final boss though!
I understand all too well. I played it a ton back then too, even though most the time I was just talking to people, punching Roger, and racing around in the car. I didn't really get it, but I loved it anyway.
I actually beat Judge Doom. But oh Lord it wasn't easy. All because I stumbled on a glitch to do it.
Same, it was like gta roaming for NES. Driving around was just mind blowing 😅
I’m sitting here minding my own business and all of a sudden I remember this game exists. I played the hell out of this as a kid.
Summer '93, everyone's jam was Dre & Snoop. Mine was this soundtrack. This game is why I fell in love with GTA.
Never got to play this one as a kid, but was always fascinated by it in the game genie book. I had the awesome Capcom made GB Roger rabbit game
Who Framed Roger Rabbit was a massive phenomenon for us 80’s and 90’s kids. I never played this game, but it has a cool vibe that seems like a mix of Nightshade and A Boy and His Blob.
I just can't say no to a David Wise NES soundtrack no matter how horrid the game is. That Rare soundfont gets me every time.
Never beat the game. Barely understood the movie but man did I play the hell out of it
So glad to finally sit and watch a walkthrough of this. I managed to beat some really twisty titles like Deadly Towers and Discworld, but this one remained inscrutable to me.
I remember playing this on an old school Apple computer. The small one with the black and green screen! Never could beat this game.
Thanks for sharing!
I don't care what the angry video game nerd says... This was one of my favorite games AND movies as a kid in the 80s, early 90s. It really isn't as difficult as he made it out to be. I remember when Jessica Rabbit actually answered that phone number too. Gosh those were the good ol days.
A detective in 1940's LA solving a mystery who can get into fistfights? It's LA Noire, but for the NES!
This game was fun to play. Great memories 😀🎮🕹👍🏻
Adored this game as a kid, thank you for posting your play through! I wanted to scream, @ 37:52 Roger got run over and then picked right up by the bird and taken away before he could stand back up. I've never seen that before, talk about hilarious!
Haha right? I was so irritated by that, but I couldn't help but laugh. The fates were conspiring against me.
Nothing short of poetry.
My favorite game all time
Before GTA, we had this!
I know it's not a good game, but Roger Rabbit is one of my all time favorite movies, so I have a huge amount of nostalgia for this one. Once you get down how it works with the punch mechanic, it becomes more tolerable. Enjoyable even. The final Judge Doom fight can kiss my ass, though.
Theres actually a glitch you can exploit in the Judge Doom fight USING the punch mechanism
If you want to save some time in this game, remember that when someone tells you to search the building, you only have to search one place in each room. If the item is in that room, it will always come out of the first place you search.
Also, try entering all H's as a password. It will give you 9 of every item and the only things you'll need to find are the detonator, dynamite and 2 pieces of the will IIRC (haven't played this game in a while).
Can you help me?....
Yes there some cheese in the drawer.
I still think one of the most bullshit ways of losing a life is just having that vulture (the one that shows up at random on the overhead map) swoop down and yank Roger away.
Ele ficou preso nas minhas memórias e finalmente pude acha-lo
Memory lane for me thanks
AVGN needs to see this.
Toon town jessica come on roger let go home
Biggest cake
If I didn't know there was another part to the final fight I had to do, I would've been so pissed off. The fist fight bit was painful as it is.
played this game as a kid. Could never figure out what to do lol
I can't believe you actually beat this. My mother only beat it once by dumb luck
Loved driving😂
I cpuld never beat this as a kid. It pissed me off so much.
That's the end of judge Doom!
This game was fun but couldn’t beat it or understand it. It was funny to punch Roger & did try to defeat Doom thanks to a password but failed.
Nostalgia city....love this game.. everything was so much cooler then. Sad to see or know anyone who didn't experience the 1980s
Back in the day as a kid i struggled forever against Doom and finally won the first part of the fight. And didnt know there was a second part and i went down and Doom killed me. So i rage quit the game and sold it at a yard sale. found out years later i needed to use the dip gun to kill him. lol
NO THAT'S NOT AARON SMITH THAT'S EDDIE VALLIANT OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS
How many riddles were there that the weasels asked ?
ONE HOUR????? I probably put 100 hours into this game as a kid and I literally never got anywhere in it, lol. I didn't understand it at all.
This is the only movie where Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse interact with each other, while Daffy and Donald dueled pianos. This never happened a 2nd time
Not to mention Mickey co-existing with Woody Woodpecker (when the movie came out, Disney and Universal were rivals, but now, not so much because they gotta share Marvel since Disney pretty much has shared ownership of the Marvel Superhero Island sector of Islands of Adventure)
AVGN should revisit this game. 😂
I don't remember Bob Hoskins punching every woman he sees in the movie
Fun fact( if you can call it " fun") : This game gives you a real life phone number to call for a clue to the game, but now the number is a sex hotline. Or so I've read.
Disney debería de hacer una canción mix dubstep con esta aplicación
I always enjoyed punching random people in this game
I would lose my shiz when the weasels would come after me. And then as a little kid I didn't understand pun jokes. I never saw the toon world part till today smh
Game I rented a few times as a kid but never managed to finish. Not one of Rare's best on the system, but certainly not their worst either. Mostly just boils down to a lot of tedious item hunting.
Good game wait lgn oooh man
People sleep on how good this game Actually was
So, the company that made Donkey Kong a hero worked on Roger Rabbit, eh?
This was one of the AVGN’s punching bags.
The mysterious villain killed Eddie's brother Freddy
Used to smack everyone in this game.
THIS WAS MADE BY RAREWARE?!?!?!?!!!?!!!?!!??
Fun fact: Jessica Rabbit's phone number leads to a phone sex hotline. "I'm just drawn that way" my ass. "That is fucking awesome!" to quote Angry Nintendo Nerd's earliest days.
To me, I feel that Roger Rabbit for the NES would have worked better if LJN had Atlus develop this game instead of Rare like they did with their earlier games from 1987-88.
This was truly the GTA of the time.
wait is the game older than the movie because my town used to have this game when i was a kid then it disappeared
''I RATHER FIGHT JUDGE DRED JUDGE DEATH OR JUDGE JUDY ALL I MATTTER'' fimnstuff 2012
From LJN the creators of spiderman Disney interactive the creators of Tron and rareware the creators of donkey Kong country
I'm going to say about the death of Bob Hoskins was the cause of this was pneumonia, I'm saying that pneumonia sucks because it can affect many people's lungs, so make sure we should never overused cigarette, it abused our brain, blood and lungs, so we fight pneumonia for our life just like they did to Hiroshi Yamauchi (d. 2013), William Henry Harrison (d. 1841), Jim Henson (d. 1990), Stan Lee (d. 2018) and more who many people died of pneumonia, so we honor them for their fatal death.
This play through had to use a super game pad standard one would never give you time to power up on final boss !
the first grand theft auto IMO
Cannot believe that Rare did this game, the same people who put out AAA games like Donkey Kong Country & Perfect Dark.
This longplay could have been LONGER if you would only have punched ALL the people.
I know the movie well, but not so much about the game.
I can't fathom how they screwed this game up so bad!
Like many other bad games, most likely corporate meddling and the demand to have it out on the shelves by the holiday season.
Net
This game always confused me
2:50 How about “Go away you horrid Game!”
Another LJN classic smh. Those games were so terrible. Only part good was driving around, running from the weasels
Borrowed this back in the day, ok-ish game.
LJN has been known for making crappy video games that is Why I prefer titles from EA, Komani and Capcom.
They were the publishers. Most of these games used to be developed by companies that used LJN as a launching pad for their success (i.e. Atlus and Rare). Sure, their games weren't so good, but you have to start somewhere.
Go away you horrid game
-AVGN
Pinche juego aburrido
Go away you horrid man. How about go away you horrid game. - AVGN
Roger rabbit was bad
Yep. This game is as awful as I remember it.
So much lazy put into this game.
JCX OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS JUST WHAT IN YOU MY CANDYTOPIANETTE CANDYLADY GIRLFRIENDS OF MINE IS GOING ON HERE OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS AND PERFECTION CALLED OR WHATEVER THATS CALLED AND WHATEVER THAT IS
Incredibly bad game...
Awful music
As a huge fan of the movie, this game...
This game has to be one of the most repetitive and annoying games I've ever seen and I started gaming in the 80s. JFC I don't know how you did it, I skipped most of this video because it was the same crap over and over again.
This game is too boring and too cringey.
I never saw the movie or played this game. I'm glad that I never got to play this because this game looks absolutely awful.
Start up screen code, try 000 followed by 5 or 9 and you should start off with all the gear you need. Example… 00055555 etc, or 000999999999999.
For the life of me I never could get free from the weasles. I know they were supposed to be telling jokes but I just didn't get it. I never got far in this game
"Can you help me?"
"Go away you horrid man."
That's quality dialog.
How about go away you horrid game!
I never knew this game existed until this morning
@@thecunninlynguist I actually like this one quite a bit.
@@NintendoComplete lol cool. Just reciting some classic AVGN
@@thecunninlynguist Ah, I have not seen that one, but I should have guessed 😅
