    Thank you very much Laurent, for me it has been very lucky to find this tutorial because I had been looking and there was nothing but confusion, very educational and orderly. Greetings from Spain

    Après avoir cassé quelques fraises j'ai enfin réussit à faire (à peu près ;o)) ce que je voulais avec Path, grâce en particulier à vos explications très claires sur le positionnement de l'origine et la différence entre la vue CAD et la vue CAM.
    Un grand merci pour ce tuto dans lequel tout se passe vraiment de la même manière que dans mon environnement.

    Hi there, thanks for the video. I have created a path profile operation and I have a problem. The profile is basicly a circle, but when I read the g-code there is this "K" coordinate, I think it is Z offset. The thing is LinuxCNC doesn't like that "K". It can't run the program with it. I removed it manually from the code and it works perfectly. The question is: Is there a setting in FreeCAD so that this "K" doesn't appear in the G-Code? Thanks a lot !

    Thank you very much for this video - more helpfull than several hours of google searches!
    I have noticed however, when setting a smaller step-over percentage - i get MORE paths. Shouldn't that give fewer paths ?

      @laurentcnc6662  Před 5 lety

      Hi Jesper,
      Thanks for your comments. Regarder smaller steps, always refer to your machinist knoledges because FreeCad path is only a software !

    question. How do you free up the part from the rest of the stock? Do you flip it over and mill 30mm of material?

    • @laurentcnc6662
      @laurentcnc6662  Před rokem

      2 options are available, either you add tabs at the bottom and remove it by hands, or you leave a small amount of material you flip it and mill this small amount

    • @noel1637
      @noel1637 Před rokem

      @@laurentcnc6662 Well tab at the bootom won't work with the example in the video. There is a large piece of stock below the part.
      Flipping the part and remill the remainder is an option I was thinking about. However this has some issues with the reference moving slightly which will make the two milled area visible / shifted.
      We are yet to see someone truly configuring path and mill something for real. There is usually more to consider I think.
      If you guys can do a video on clamping techniques that would be nice I think.

      On the left side you have a list of part. You select the cad one and press SPACE. Il it mask it. Other option is to select it on the screen with the mouse (be sure it is the cad one) and press SPACE.

    It's a bit concerning that the toolpath seems to start at the part origin ie on the top face of the stock. Hopefully / presumably that can be changed to G28 etc?
