Thank you very much Laurent, for me it has been very lucky to find this tutorial because I had been looking and there was nothing but confusion, very educational and orderly. Greetings from Spain
Thank you very much for this tutorial, very useful tips and explanations. Impressed with FreeCAD. Worth spending time mastering it!
Thank you - great content
A very good video, thank you. When selecting the processor, you selected linuxcnc. The processor used on my router is Mach3. Is there an equivalent to Mach 3 as an option in FreeCAD.
Ssi have worked through all your examples so far although I have yet to add machining though I guess I have to add finishing passes to the side elevation of the hole.....
So many years ago, but I really hope that you stil are active and can help us :) do you know why I can not run the Gcode that Freecad produce on mach3!!!?
Hi there, thanks for the video. I have created a path profile operation and I have a problem. The profile is basicly a circle, but when I read the g-code there is this "K" coordinate, I think it is Z offset. The thing is LinuxCNC doesn't like that "K". It can't run the program with it. I removed it manually from the code and it works perfectly. The question is: Is there a setting in FreeCAD so that this "K" doesn't appear in the G-Code? Thanks a lot !
Thank you very much for this video - more helpfull than several hours of google searches! I have noticed however, when setting a smaller step-over percentage - i get MORE paths. Shouldn't that give fewer paths ?
2 options are available, either you add tabs at the bottom and remove it by hands, or you leave a small amount of material you flip it and mill this small amount
@@laurentcnc6662 Well tab at the bootom won't work with the example in the video. There is a large piece of stock below the part. Flipping the part and remill the remainder is an option I was thinking about. However this has some issues with the reference moving slightly which will make the two milled area visible / shifted. We are yet to see someone truly configuring path and mill something for real. There is usually more to consider I think. If you guys can do a video on clamping techniques that would be nice I think.
On the left side you have a list of part. You select the cad one and press SPACE. Il it mask it. Other option is to select it on the screen with the mouse (be sure it is the cad one) and press SPACE.
It's a bit concerning that the toolpath seems to start at the part origin ie on the top face of the stock. Hopefully / presumably that can be changed to G28 etc?
Again and again, want to say thanks to the people who work at youtube . And people helpers who help educational videos like these .
Thanks

Thank you so much, you clarified a lot of topics. It is a very valuable video.
It is a nice video describing most of the operations of the machine. Thanks.
Thanks good job, I was able to complete the tutorials

Dziękuję!
Thanks for posting this really helpful video
Great video, thanks!

You are absolutely right ! And you can add finishing passes on each operation for a better surface finish.
Merci Laurent!
My pleasure :-)

30:10 GCODE !!!! :D YAY ty so much. I hope this is really free to use :)
Yes it is :-)
@@laurentcnc6662 That is truly some dandy news :)

Hi Jesper,
Thanks for your comments. Regarder smaller steps, always refer to your machinist knoledges because FreeCad path is only a software !
This example appears to be 2.5D. Does FeeCAD CNC CAM work with 3D tool paths?
Does this have lead in and lead out?
Could you explain what is being done in 18:09 please?
thanks
You are the welcome !
question. How do you free up the part from the rest of the stock? Do you flip it over and mill 30mm of material?

please tel me, what button you pressed, to mask the cad part. thanks!

hi sir, are u able to teach free cad online? i need somebody to guide me on how to use this apps.

You point it
How did you get your part to be semi-transparent?
Select your part. In the property box click on view. In the field transparency give a value higher than 0%
Very Good.
Do you Know some book or manual ?
I want to learn more options freecad to cnc
tags, stop to change tool....
Thanks a lot
Hi Jose, go on their website, there is plenty of informations., maybe a book not sure if CNC is inside ;-)
Thanks
Great vid, but would have been better if you had used the English version to match the tutorial language. Translations sometimes are a little quirky.
La même en Francais ?
Oui oui oui, elle existe en Français? Ce serait super!
How install cam cad download
freecad is the most buggy program I've ever used on windows 10, which is a shame because i love the concept

The good news is, the video is a lot more helpful, to a lot more people.
