I always liked this one better. You can tell the budget was bigger. The girl that plays Marisol is called Belinda, she's a mexican singer and actress, very popular in Latin America and it was a big deal for her at the time because she was a big telenovela teen actress.
CG2 was very iconic!

@@walleve7 Yes, I feel the same way. I'm from Argentina and I grew up with tv shows like Rebelde(she wasn't in it) and Cómplices al Rescate, and i loved Mexican shows so she was always Mexican to me. It's a weird vortex 😅
My older sister is a professional actress, director, and theater professor. I can say from experience, Galleria's energy is 100% on point. It the kind of drive necessary to be successful, but it can be exhausting to be around
I love how during the “strut” number, Raven was the only one to wear heels while everyone else wore flats
And was giving the absolute MOST!! That high kick! I loved it!
i always thought it was ridiculous when female artists have to wear heels tbh. It's so dangerous if they're not used to it, so i respect that the other girls didnt have to lol. I assume Raven was used to wearing them more.

@@themoviebudz1988 I wouldn't go so far as to say the girls hate her for it. But it does show the shift in focus and priorities. In the first movie Galleria was being too controlling and self focused whereas in this film, she's pushing the other girls to be more focused on the competition and they are all all over the place and are probably not appreciating her leadership after what happened in the last film.

Angel is actually a common name in Spain, my uncle is named Angel and a lot of the men in the village that my grandparents are from also have that name, so it's not that weird in Spain at least to name your kid that 😜 Thanks for watching this movie, one of my favourite ones 🤗 from a Spanish girl 😊

I even remember a CZcams channel with 2 friars in it where they were amazed at how in Latinamerica people could name their children after God's son, the friars understood it was a cultural and religious thing, but they thought of the name as holy or something like that. As for me, the only Angel I know (not to be confused with Ángel in spanish) is the show from the late 90s early 2000s LOL.

When it comes to the outfits for the final performance, Galleria and Chanel are the most important in the group so that’s why they have the best outfits but part of the reason Galleria’s outfit is so extra is because she was considered plus sized and they had no idea how to dress women like her back then. If you notice, throughout the movie she’s wearing a lot of like mom outfits, for lack of a better term lol
that always pissed me off so much. disney treated raven so terribly after she gained weight, they completely changed her wardrobe
Dorinda's stand out talent is dancing hence why I think the scene still works to showcase her
i thought the scene made perfect sense. it’s a rehearsal, and they’re dancing to a song like any dance rehearsal i don’t know why it was a missed opportunity. I don’t think dorinda is a strong singer and they were playing to her strengths with that scene.
I always loved this one the most! It felt so much more fun. Also not sure if you picked up on it, the guy who sings "Dance with Me" is Drew Seely! He sang for Zac Efron in the first HSM!
Omg I never realized that either another Cinderella story with drew seely and Selena Gomez is one of my favorites!

As someone who was a vocal performance major in college and did solos (including operatic arias) in multiple languages, it most CERTAINLY takes longer than a week 😂
Getting the pronunciation right until it becomes natural to sing, then knowing what the words mean so you still bring the emotion, and not just sing the words. I would spend a good month on just one song because there’s so many components to bring together.

As a kid I was on the other girls’ sides and not Galleria’s, but as an adult I’m definitely more on her side as far as the conflict! This movie is such a childhood classic for me! Only pet peeve is having Aqua from Texas and not being able to pronounce Spanish words… like even if you’re not fluent you definitely know how to pronounce Spanish words and names🤦🏼♀️😂
Eh, I'm from Texas and there are plenty of people here who don't know how to read in Spanish. Even if you learn the phonetics of how to pronounce letters that does nothing for you in respect to the stress on words lol.
That’s not true. I from Florida, had Spanish classes in school and still don’t know anymore Spanish than the average American.
i quite literally spent 6 months selling chocolate in middle school to go to barcelona, spain in honor on this movie. nothing beat listening to this soundtrack over there at 13 😭
I remember being 16-17 and thinking two weeks was all the time in the world, lmao. Which is probably why the girls being that way with Galleria didn't ever bother me too much. Teenagers being teenagers. Two weeks, two months... it all seems so far away until it's staring you in the face.
Cheetah Girls 2 is my favorite Dcom. It has great characters and great songs. Also Strut is an absolute banger

Just want to say that as a latina the name Angel isn’t unusual the same Jesus isn’t either. People just name their kids that, its not uncommon
This movie had one of the biggest premiers on Disney channel, they aired it 4 days in a row, once the original way, the English and Spanish sing alongs and once in Spanish

Ángel and its many variants (Ángeles, Ángela etc) is actually a pretty normal name in Spanish. There are some names that are so common people don't think about their original meaning.
This sequel is very different from the first movie. This one actually dials back on the girly, “cheetah-licious” stuff.

Anyone have a fever dream of the ending song. Sometimes, it goes straight to the regular credits. Other times, it decides to play the final song that they sing for the wedding.

I think that’s only on the VHS/DVD. When it comes on tv, they don’t show the last song when the mom gets married.

I remember when Cheetah Girls 2 was first announced as part of the Spring lineup on Disney Channel. Me and all my friends freaked out because we're all big Cheetah Girls fans. Couldn't get us to shut up about it. We performed Cheetahlicious Christmas for our schools Christmas program.

dorinda was doing the absolute most in this movie. she was wrong to catch an attitude with joaquin over something so simple. those people were CLEARLY his coworkers and they left on their own. he wanted to spend the day alone with her and she caught an attitude for no reason. she was too dramatic talking about: “i may not know where i came from, but i know where i’m going and it’s not here” like who asked you? lol. “why did you send your friends off?” bitch do you speak spanish? 😂😂

OH MY GOD YES. the whole trilogy is my absolute favourite, but the second movie remains number one. it’s not only the best out of three, but also the best Disney (original) movie ever.
The Actress who plays Doe is so good at dancing that she was on Dancing with the Stars.
Ridiculously, she got voted off TWICE.
Please, PLEASE consider doing Julie and the Phantoms. It's a TV show, but only 9 episodes total, and I really think you'd appreciate the songs/rehearsing. It's very on-brand with the stuff you react to. Kenny Ortega and everything

55:04 yeah, I moved schools the summer before my junior year of High school and I was so angry about it. I already moved around a lot before and was finally establishing myself with people and then moved. I didn’t talk to anyone and ate lunch alone in the cafeteria till I couldn’t handle it. It didn’t help I was one of the only poc there and it was such a rural area, so my outfits really stood out. Idk my parents really didn’t give any consideration to how it’d effect me
this one is definitely my favorite. i don’t hate the third as much as it seems most people do/did, but it still is my least favorite. the second raven didn’t return, it lost hella appeal for me.
also, i always headcanoned luke as basically an airbnb pioneer lol (at least in later years when i realized they changed luke’s nationality). he just owns rentable properties around the world or something, idk

If you go to a competition, aiming at it helping you become a professional at what you do, and your team decides when you get there that winning the competition doesn't matter at all, leaving the group and not rejoining is just a smart professional decision, regardless of how anyone feels about it.

The bit where y'all were talking about how you have to commit to learning a skill, and how the movies misrepresent how much time it takes.. My bagpipe teacher had to tell me so many times to stop "practicing" the parts of a song that I was good at and to just play the same like, 8 note section over and over if I wasn't getting it. I kept trying to play the whole song through instead of focusing on what I wasn't understanding.
This is by far the best Cheetah movie. Bigger budget, better story, they are more in sync with each other 🐆
This one is better than the first for me, when I saw this one for the first time on TV I was so amazed at the end of how incredible the finale was

So when I was in Barcelona, I actually went to the cafe (La Catalina II) they run by in the song, "Strut". I made it my mission to visit as many places in this movie as I could when I was there.
I think Raven's outfits were Disney trying to hid her weight gain. But instead of taking time to find clothes that flatter her body type, they just made her look older and bulky.

Heyyy this is the one I watched the most growing up! I fell in love with Drew Seeley after I watched it. Dance With Me was my jam right along with Why Wait. They played the music videos constantly on Disney Channel and it as awesome ❤️

When Dorinda is teaching the dance class during the montage it’s the same choreography during the step up rap verse. I always thought that was realistic.

if you guys do a reaction to The Cheetah Girls 3: One World, please be advised that the movie doesn't include Raven as she departed the franchise shortly before production began to focus on her career. Also, while the second movie has a dope soundtrack, the third movie (set in Bollywood, India) has great music as well. There are few standout tracks like the opening song "Cheetah Love", "Fly Away", "I'm The One", "No Place Like Us" which is very similar in terms of tone to "It's Over" from Cheetah Girls 2, and "One World" which is the final song. The entire movie was filmed in India just like The Cheetah Girls 2 was filmed entirely in Barcelona. Whitney Houston did not return to co-produce the third film.
I actually remember the weekend Disney Channel became free in Spain they kept playing this movie, they certainly knew what they were doing.
When doe and the count were dancing, they weren't singing because Marisol sang that song. But this movie is in my top three favorite Disney movies.

i feel like the time conversion is pretty common knowledge, especially for those in the new york time zone (EST) its common to know its 5-6hrs difference depending on where you are in europe. Idk if its because of our demographic here or the fact that New York is pretty much our main port for travel (for lack of a better word)...
Growing up is realizing that everyone, but Durinda were super rich and could afford that stuff if you really take a look at what they can afford and what their parents do 😅

Maybe it’s because I grew obsessed with TCG as a kid so there that attachment there for me, but I actually find the soundtrack for the second movie waaay stronger and more memorable then the first. Literally bop after bop.😮💨 As a whole I would rank all 3 movies overall : TCH 2 > TCH > TCH 3
Dude cheetah girls two is the best cheetah girls 😂 I remember specifically the night this premiered we had nachos for dinner (coincidentally) and I sat down and had a whole fiesta by myself and it was one of the most memorable dcom premiers! Such an adventure in a movie haha

when chanel and her mom were all dressed up when meeting his family, i feel like its because at least in america, the latinos here think of dressing in your "sunday best" type of vibe, especially if you're catholic and have money... so i think thats what they were expecting and then it was like even more of a culture shock, cause they dont know how a european spanish vibe is

As a introverted latina whose Big family invades her Home in a visit every once in a while: reading in a room alone is my way of recharging my social battery, and also we take a siesta, which is a nap after eating (those of us who don't work immediately after lunch, bc yes they do come in week days when we are working, thats why we need ✨me time ✨)
