Thanks for sharing these tips Josh. Unfortunately I fall in the camp of having a computer suddenly die on me - in the middle of a project no less! MacPro 2013 trash can was 10 years old and I was due for an upgrade anyway... fortunately everything was backed up, but it gave me no chance to deactivate all my licenses (iLok or otherwise) and no chance to say a proper goodbye haha. Now with a new machine I have to start the fun process of re-installing everything. On the plus side, that's always an opportunity for spring cleaning (no need to install old plugins I never use anyway). But yeah, this iLok thing can be a pain transferring over in cases like this. I appreciate your advice, fingers crossed it will go over well. Cheers!
Man sorry to hear that! My Trashcan Mac Pro started powering off randomly so I had to move on from it as well. That's a great point about spring cleaning! I think it's good to do every now and then just so the choices aren't so overwhelming in the plug-in menu. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Just subscribed. I need to reset my Mac to factory settings. I have an ilok with protools. After resetting the Mac can I plug in the ilok and use protools again.?
Thanks so much for the sub! If you re-install iLok license manager, then yes you should be able to just plug your iLok back in, log in on iLok license manager and be good to go 👍🏻

whats stupid is I had to just do this. My motherboard died, I just replaced it, I have two pc's named the exact same thing now but one I had to use this process on, while wildly enough all my neural plugins swapped right over without an issue.

Hi I reinstalled windows with the same data but idk why after this it appears like I'm in another machine using ilok when it always have been the same so I got this issue, this is the first time it happens to me so ones I reported I just wait till they give me my license back? Right? So for now I'm not gonna be able to use any product? How much I should wait mostly?

I have no idea. I will check settings though & try to get it sorted out so it will work for you.
What do you do if "Report as Unusable" isn't an option for you to select in iLok Manager?
I know on some older versions of iLok license manager it doesn't show up. In that case I'd try and update to a newer version of iLok license manager by going to iLok LIcense Manager > Check For Application Updates . If you're on an older operating system and can't do that then I would reach out to iLok support at that point.

Same just happened to me and I could cry. Hundreds of dollars worth of plugins. I've sent the reset request, but I don't understand how they can then be moved to my new PC? I dont have the iLOK activation codes for many of them to redeem? Obviously there are no licences on my new PC, will they appear there or do I need the activation keys? Same error as you mentioned. If i try to activate anything it says 3 of 3 used.....panicking here!

I was just in a 13 hr session yesterday at a studio I partner with while my new building is being completed, and when plugging in my iLok usb I realized I had assigned licenses to the computer I just sold to an engineer friend of mine who is out of town for a while. This is so timely I thought Google was listening to my convos and serving this from the depths of your playlist. I was about to jettison all of its "always on" technology. #Greatsubscription
