You need the performance prior to this to understand this performance - a cable car disaster in China in 1999, took the lives of 14 tourists -a young couple lifted their 2 1/2 year old son to safety but plunged to their deaths - Han Hong, wrote this as a tribute to the sacrifice of the parents - she later adopted him - this is from his solo concert, the previous performance is from I AM SINGER/CHINA
Yeah, several Dears suggested Gloria Wu's backstory / The Singer performance for the important backstory, when the reactors said Daybreak would be the next reaction....I don't think they pay much attention to comments though. Or read the subtitles to understand this heartbreaking song. Oh well, we tried!
Daybreak is a song written by Chinese singer Han Hong as a dedication to a father and mother involved in a 1999 cable car accident. The couple saved their baby by holding up the child when the cable car fell off. Miraculously the baby survived but the couple died. Han Hong later adopt the ophaned child. The song also happened to be the first Chinese song Dimash heard. He sang it during the Singerr competition that made him famous in China. He managed to bring many of the audience to tears despite losing his voice the night before and sang in a language he didn't speak.

Dimash was only 10 yrs old when he first heard this song & it touched him deeply, even at that young age & he knew he wanted to sing this at some stage. This amazing performance always gives me goosebumps & brings tears to my eyes.
“Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where many people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau!
There was a cable car in China that crashed down, as a result of being over-filled fell, killing 14 people. One young couple held their infant son above their heads, sacrificing themselves to save their child.
"Daybreak" is the tribute and lament of that young boy for the parents he'll never know. The song's writer later adopted that young boy. The first time I heard this song was this same rendition in the Bastau concert. It made me cry though I can´t understand chinese and the video had not subs.

Dimash Live Concert at Emei Mountain singing *Unforgettable Day* outside in the pouring rain. This will show you a totally different version of him. Very humble. He even stops singing and says he forgot the lyrics. So awesome to see him in jeans and t-shirt preforming, and in touch with his audience. A must watch !!!!

👉 This is Dimash's gorgeous first solo concert in Astana called ‘Bastau/ Beginning, shortly after the show 'The Singer 2017'. This concert was given to him by his hometown as a welcome home and as a thank you for his huge success in China. 30. 000 people from all over the world took part.
In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! (Only via video) I had to wait a few long years before I could see Dimash live in Prague (2022).
This song based on a true tragic story and is very well known in China. In 1999 14 people died in a cable car accident in China. The parents of a little boy lifted their son to safety, and they themselves died. Original singer and songwriter Han Hong later adopted the child.
Dimash sings with so much pain in his voice it literally tears him apart ... and I can't stop crying.
